PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND OR INQUIRE UNLESS YOU WANT THE APARTMENT FOR SIX MONTHS AUGUST UNTIL JANUARY! Have you dreamed of waking up in Manhattan with all the pleasures of New York City right outside your door? This sunny and cheerful one bedroom apartment is located on the 15th floor of an Art Deco doorman building overlooking Riverside Park and the Hudson River. Conveniently located on Riverside Drive and 103rd Street, there is one full sized bed and a pull-out sofa. Lots of books, art work, and interesting items from many travels make this a very cozy/comfortable and well appointed apartment. You will be two blocks from the Broadway subway and bus lines and the M5 bus stops in front of the building. Do you need to get in a quick run before sampling New York’s delicacies? Just walk across the street to Riverside Park and enjoy the trails. You are also within walking distance of Columbia University and Central Park. New York’s finest art museums are a quick bus ride across the park and Broadway theaters and Lincoln Center are a ten minute subway ride. Shopping, Starbucks, and varied restaurants (Turkish, Peruvian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Diner, French, Kosher and Mexican all within three blocks) abound in the immediate neighborhood. If you enjoy a quiet side street, with the bustle of Broadway two blocks away, this is the place for you. This is New York living as you will be in a small apartment with a small kitchen area (newly renovated), but who cooks in New York with all the fabulous restaurants? Must be okay with cats as a cat sometimes lives here.

  • My sister and I went to New York for the winter holidays and our stay at Carla's apartment was great. Her place is really cute and 2 blocks from the subway (and Starbucks and a whole bunch of nice restaurants and stores). The 1-train can take you anywhere so it's really handy, you don't waste time. One of us slept in the bed, the other one on the sofa, the temperature was great (it was freezing outside). Her shower is the best ever ... The people downstairs are really nice, they can help you with any problem. We would definitely recommend Carla's place!
Merci pour tout et bonne année! : )

  • I love Carla's place! The neighborhood is amazing. The subway is RIGHT there. The apartment is super cute. Great view of the river. AND THE PARK IS HER BACKYARD! She is literally STEPS from Riverside Park which is my favorite park in all of NYC. So green, so much to do. Yay! Great door people at her apartment and I felt completely safe the entire time. Bonus is that the washers and dryers can be operated with a debit/credit card. Plus the laundry room is the nicest I have ever seen. Carla was easy to get a hold of and very accommodating. Her home is decorated beautifully and there was a nice breeze coming from her windows. Lots of closet space too. I had a great time in NYC and loved the apartment a ton. So quiet and clean. I would come back in a New York minute. Tons of great places to eat within blocks of her house. Also the Starbucks is two blocks away and the baristas are super nice there! I love the Upper West Side. So quiet and calm compared to Downtown. I enjoyed the slower vibe and appreciated that I could jump on the 1 train and be Downtown in minutes. Great stay all around.Yay!

  • Carla's place is an ideal Manhattan location, and the photos posted don't do it justice. It's beautifully, personally furnished and decorated, comfortable for a single person or a couple. The building staff are almost all very helpful and friendly, as are the neighbors. Finally, as a bonus, the location is quiet enough that you can sleep with the windows open, getting the breeze off the Hudson--a real plus in New York in summer and fall (though there's the air conditioning option, too). Carla's communications were all timely and her instructions easy to follow.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Carla's apt. The home is decorated in a tasteful and artful way, something I love! It made our stay so cozy and pleasant. The neighborhood is lovely and convenient, a beautiful park on one side and subway entrance and cafes on the other. Carla was accommodating and fun to meet. We will definitely consider another stay!

  • Carla's apartment is incredible ! I felt so at home surrounded by Carla's beautiful art and interesting books. The pictures of the apartment do not reflect the beauty of the space. The view from the bedroom window at night of the river and the twinkling lights is fantastic ! I recommend the apartment to anyone who wants to stay in a neighborhood filled with interesting people, restaurants and parks. Communication with Carla was excellent. Before my trip Carla provided information about the neighborhood that made planning easy. She also has a collection of city maps and guides that offer so many ideas about all the things that NYC offers. Thank You so much Carla, I loved my stay in your little treasure !

  • We enjoyed the apartment - and Carla's two cats. It was perfect to be used as the extra bedroom we needed the weekend our daughters came to visit.

  • This was my first experience with airbnb. I would definitely book again this apartment next time I come up to NYC. Although I never really got the chance to meet Carla personally, I just knew she was available for reach at any time for anything I needed. She was helpful and understanding when I needed to leave the bags there for several hours after check out. Everything was already taken care of from the moment I arrived to pick up the keys at the lobby of the building. The neighborhood is very nice, the building easy to find and subway is only 2 blocks away. Anything you need is close by. Everyone knows New York rooms are small, and for more than 2 people it could get a bit crowded, specially if you carry many suitcases (A lot of the space is occupied by artwork, books). That aside, the place is super cozy and its got all the amenities you need for a nice stay in the city. For the money, you can't beat this. I really enjoyed it, Thank you Carla!

  • Had a great time at Carla's place. She is an amazing host. She left a lot of information on NYC and she was always there if you needed her for anything. The place was very CLEAN. Her descripition of the place is nothing compared to the actual place. Once I got there, I felt at home, so much better than staying in any hotel. The neighborhood is very nice and quiet. And the doorman there were very nice. Overall my experience at Carla's place was excellent! Look foward to staying again for my future visits.

    Thank you Carla!

I love all the cultural aspects that NYC offers including museums, theatre, opera, dance, restaurants, etc. I also love to read and travel. I'm usually at the apartment in NYC during the week and leave on Thursday for weekends in CT where I love to garden, cook, spend time outdoors and birdwatch!
