Vacationing at Camp Maple Lake is a unique opportunity to enjoy the grounds of a former summer wilderness camp. Bring your family or come alone and swim in the pool, canoe on the lake, go fishing, walk the path behind the lake, or sit on the lake side porch with your cup of coffee & watch the sunrise.

This simple, knotty pine cabin is kept in its minimalist form. You will need to bring sheets/sleeping bags/pillows/towels. The morning lake view from the porch is worth the trip.

The space
This cabin and 4 others were built in the 50's. Before the property was turned into a summer camp in the 60's, it was a space for families to escape to the wilderness, rent cabins, and enjoy the quiet lake. We are turning it into that space again.... a space for families to get back to nature & unplug.

The Painted Turtle has knotty pine walls and windows facing the lake. It has a living room to gather with a table/chairs and couch. But it does not have a formal kitchen. There is a microwave, drip coffee pot, and refrigerator to use, plus a propane grill on the porch.

There may be a few other families in cabins but the property is large enough to spread out so mainly you'll see deer, painted turtles sunning themselves on the bank of the lake, bright starry lit night skies, large camp pool, and hear lots of birds.

The Painted Turtle is a cabin on the grounds of Camp Maple Lake. The property used to be a wilderness sports camp and is now used for family rentals. There are 4 other cabins for rent on the property. Located in Sullivan County, it is a very rural area... close to Worlds End State Park and the Loyalsock Trail. 20 minutes from a grocery store in the small town of Dushore, PA.

Hi there. We are happy you’re interested in our cabins at Camp Maple Lake. We bought the camp property in 2013 and hosted large summer sports camps, with help from our 3 daughters. Managing the camp property has always been a family effort. In 2021, we decided to change the camp vision to host families in cabin rentals, weddings, and family reunions.
If you enjoy the peaceful wilderness and scenic wildlife, you will love Camp! Thanks for stopping by to check out our cabins. We live at the farm next door and are available when needed.
