We had a great time at Elizabeth's. The two of us stayed 3 nights and the location was perfect for what we needed. Once we found the right gate (it has no markings), we had no problem locating the keys and getting inside. There was no cable but the internet worked fine and we watched netflix (on our computer) at night. There is a DVD player so I would recommend bringing a few DVDs. There is so much to do nearby, you will be plenty busy. The apartment is small but we found it to be more than adequate for our needs. Everything was clean and decorated simply with no clutter. There were lots of towels and soaps in the cabinet for us and the water pressure was good. Parking was good but we had to park one block up or over during busy daytime hours which was not really a problem for us. There are cool stores within walking distance including End of An Ear record store and Rabbit Food vegan grocery store as well as awesome food trucks like Bananarchy and Four Brothers. Of course, Bouldin Creek Restaurant is directly across the street and there is also Thai Fresh, and even a 24 hour Mexican restaurant nearby as well. Elizabeth's place is just a short drive from South Lamar and downtown so the possibilities are endless staying here. It was quiet at night and the neighborhood and neighbors were nice as well. Lastly, the bed was comfortable and the ac kept us very cool. We definitely would stay here again.
Awesome location and perfect amount of space for two during our weekend in Austin. Wifi didn't work- so worth confirming with Elizabeth prior to booking- but for us it didn't make much of a difference as we were out enjoying the city most of the time anyway. Would stay here again!
Great location just far enough off of S Congress to feel private, but close enough to walk to it. Literally across the street from a vegetarian cafe and one house over from a Mexican restaurant. Room is plenty big for 2 people, and has a kitchen and bathroom. The door you see in the picture opens up to two doors. One is the bigger part of the house that someone rents, and the other is your room. The window on the front you see is into the kitchen. Very clean, no issues. The house is older so the walls are kind of thin and you can hear some car noise at night, but I would have never known if my wife wasn't a light sleeper. Never had trouble finding parking on the street. Wifi worked. Bring a dvd or two if you think you will spend any time inside, but go out and enjoy the area. Food trucks are super close as well as all S Congress has to offer. The area feels very safe and we never once had any concerns during our 3 night stay. Elizabeth was very responsive to the couple of questions I had during the stay as well. No complaints here! If you want a new, trendy room with maid-service and fancy amenities, then pay the huge hotel costs in the area.
First the positive, the neighborhood and location to South Congress was perfect. We never had trouble finding parking on the street nearby. And, the bed was SO comfortable! However, we were disappointed with a few aspects. There was no prior communication follow-up about check-in and where to find the keys (we finally found them under the door mat). The yard was unkempt including a large blue tarp we had to navigate around to even get to the door. The furnishings were fine (nothing fancy) but different from what was shown in photos. The cable was not working as indicated, which the owner knew about but did not tell us prior to check-in. When calling about this, we found out the owner was out of town. I'm used to Airbnb owners being around and available if needed during my stay. Ultimately, we felt safe and fairly comfortable, so it was fine. But I doubt we will stay again.
Elizabeth's place was perfect! Amazing location, very clean and with a lot of privacy. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to any of our friends.
Everything was as stated. Found key easily. I felt safe in neighborhood. Very friendly people and lots of small affordable restaurants within walking distance.mattress was best ever. Clean cozy Parking is difficult during certain hours. Renters should read and obey parking signs very carefully.
