Had a wonderful stay at Mak's apartment - everything went smoothly, no complaints. Thanks, Mak!
Right in between LES & Chinatown. Conveniently located a block away from a subway station. Perfect place for a 4-day trip in NYC with my girls. Mak's assistant, Fernando, was very helpful. Wi-fi was not the best, as it can strictly be used only by one device at a time. Place was relatively clean & would recommend for anyone visiting NYC. Bearable noisiness at night, but that's expected in the city!
The appartment is great, just enough for us, clean, with everything we needed. The heating works great, wich was important since it was very cold When we were there. The location is also great, in the middle of Chinatown, next to the subway, the bus stop and with many chinese chops nearby. We could enter the appartment without any problem, the person who cleans it opened us the door.
It was difficult to reach Mak, he never answered the phone and we could only communicate via text.
In the weekend, it is very loud outside. One night, someone rang many times at our and the neighbours door. We couldn't sleep for a few hours. But still, it is NY!
This place was conveniently located for us. Our favorite foods (too many to list, but we highly recommend Family Recipe) and favorite coffee (Grumpy's) are all within walking distance, as well the subway. The apartment was neat and tidy, just as it was described. Other reviews mention it is noisy at night, but we did not find it too disruptive (the conversations from the bar lean towards moronic, but that's to be expected). In the morning there is a very loud noise (the security gate from the downstairs business going up) which will most likely wake you, but think of it as your free wake-up call and it's all good.
Great Apartment in fantastic location! The apartment is pretty big for NY and was absolutely clean. Good communication. When I had questions Mak responded immediately during my stay.
Good price，Great little place in the LES and right in the heart of Chinatown. Thanks Fendi & Mak.
Such a deal! We had a great stay at 107 Eldridge! It's proximity to two subway stations was key to our getting out and exploring the City! The apartment was warm, clean and well cared for and there was nothing we lacked. Granted, the neighborhood can be noisy at night and you may be woken up early by delivery trucks and the voices of nearby shopkeepers, but why sleep anyway? This is a great little launching pad for NYC!
Me, my brother and my mother enjoyed staying in the flat. It met all out needs and everything was clean and ready. The host was very accommodating via text at all times. We were let in by an assistant. It is in a great area! So many nice shops and restaurants around. Make sure to try Vanessa's dumplings across the road. Rivington street, Stanton street (try The Meatball Shop) and Orchard street are hipster mekkas.
A few flaws: The internet is not working at all times - but just need to be restarted. Also there is a very strange and very loud! noise occurring at nighttime. The first two night it was just once around 2am for about 5 seconds. The last night is was 4 times for 5 seconds between 2am and 3.30am. Sounds like a generator or the like. Maybe this is just something temporarily. The street is loud in daytime and on weekends - but nothing to bad for New York.
Place was ok, near to the subway. Some small drawback is that it is just above pretty popular bar so it's a bit noisy sometime.
Great spot! Absolutely perfect for getting around. Really close to Grand St, Bowery and Delancey/Essex stations on the subway.
The bed issue mentioned previously has been fixed. Apt was clean, tidy, plenty of clean towels and bed sheets etc. Loads of storage space for your stuff. Didn't really use the kitchen, only the fridge! WiFi is not amazing, had to reset rather a lot. Bathroom small but everything you need us there.
Didn't really notice too much street noise but there is a random loud building noise and I mean loud that lasts for about 10 secs - I have no idea what it was but it awoke me a few times. I suspect it's coming from one of the other apt in the building - could be a fan or an air con, don't know, but it's loud!
Communication and key exchange all a breeze. Didn't actually meet the hosts but that wasn't a problem for me.
Chinatown was fun to stay in but the area does get a bit stinky. I dread to think what it would be like in summer heat! You didn't notice any of this in the apt tho.
The bar fontanas a few doors down is great! And it's a really short walk to all the great bars, restaurants and venues in the Lower East Side.
Would absolutely stay here again.
