Bring your furry family member to this tranquil mountain retreat just 15 minutes from the famous Matanuska Glacier. Enjoy spectacular views in every direction from your authentic hand built log cabin nestled in a bed of Labrador Tea. Clean and cosy, Polaris has one queen and one twin bed, kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, dishes, cutlery, table, and wifi. This is a DRY cabin, so a European style private bathhouse is a short 40 foot walk away.

The space
Little Bear Getaway Cabins are 15 minutes from the Matanuska Glacier, North America's largest year-round road accessible glacier, and one mile from Sheep Mountain Lodge, with cross country ski trails and snowmachining trails. Summertime activities close by such as whitewater rafting, hiking, helicopter tours, zip-lining, and horseback riding abound. The cabins are set well apart from eachother in a natural clearing, with the shared bathhouse a short *outdoor* walk away. Your cabin is milled from local spruce and custom built by a master log craftsman with high vaulted ceilings and an outdoor deck . We strive to keep the space free of harsh cleaning chemicals, perfumes, or unnatural scents.

Where you’ll be

Sutton-Alpine, Alaska, United States

Pure wilderness is all around, but we have easy access from the small, two lane highway from Anchorage. We cannot see the highway, but can hear when a car drives by. Moose and lynx are frequent visitors; we can see no other homes.

We currently live on-site, and are available for the proverbial cup of sugar. We will share the bathhouse with guests, as well, and we do have two dogs. We enjoy pointing you in the right direction to find nearby activities!
