There is one bedroom I am renting, it has a bathroom on the main level of my home. The room cost $100. There is a kitchen open living room (with a very large TV) and dinning area, you are welcome to use.
I will provide a simple breakfast or you may try one of the restaurants with in walking distance. At the end of the street is a great place for a healthy breakfast and lunch, there is also a pizza and sandwich place and a small store with a ATM machine and a dry cleaners.
Davis Square is a 7 minute walk, there is a movie theater, many different kinds of restaurants, cafes and entertainment, several times a year there are festivals. There is always something to do...
Bright and contemporary, very clean in west Cambridge; a short walk to public transportation that will take you anywhere as well as a quick trip to Harvard Square and Boston. Great affordable restaurants and shopping with in walking distance.
At the end of my short block is a bike and walking path, perfect for a run, walk or ride. It is very safe and constantly used by commuters and dog walkers, runners and cyclists. It is well maintained and quite beautiful.
The neighbor hood is very safe, but the front and back door needs to be locked as you come and go.
We have a very friendly gentle dog, she is hypoallergenic, she has hair not fur. She is not allowed on the furniture. If you ignore her she will not bother you if you are friendly she will be your best friend...
Remember this is my home please treat me like a friend or member of your family, I have a job and other responsibilities too.
Please if you can check in sometime before 10:30 pm and check out around midday that is ideal, if that is difficult we will work something out.
Shelly is an amazing host, and I had a great first airbnb experience at her place. I appreciate the breakfast in the morning and the phone charger! If I need a place in Cambridge to stay next time, I would definitely choose Shelly again!
Shelly is a wonderful, flexible host, and she made our trip SO much easier! We had flight delays in and out of Boston and we were worried about the timing both ways but she made sure that everything worked out perfectly for us.
The apartment aesthetics are awesome, and you'd be staying just a ten minute walk from Davis Square, where you can take the T pretty much anywhere in Boston. Shelly also gave us a few recommendations for restaurants, one of which we had time to check out (The Friendly Toast) and we learned that we had the same taste in brunch as she does :)
Another reviewer said "It was like staying with a friend you didn't know that you had in Boston." and this is absolutely true. Thanks Shelly.
I had a wonderful stay at Shelly’s home. Her home was clean, neat and smartly decorated as was my room and adjacent private bathroom.
Shelly's home is in Cambridge, one of the finest, if not the finest, city of the metropolitan Boston area. The neighborhood is quiet but close (i.e., within a 15-minute drive) to the Back Bay portion of Boston.
Shelly provided me with a large cup of coffee in the evening when I returned home from supper and prepared for me breakfast the next morning.
As we all know, the weather in Boston has been terrible this winter. Shelly had a off-street parking spot available for my car. This is something to be prized since the snow was several feet deep in the yards and nearly five feet deep in the streets.
Shelly was a wonderful host! She is very warm, welcoming and genuine. Her house is cozier than the pictures portray, and the place was easy to find on a nice, quiet, conveniently located street. Everything was very clean and comfy. The bed in particular was almost a little too comfortable! Everything that one would need was provided (bottled water, local map, fresh towels, a well stocked fridge, etc.). Being able to park in her driveway was fantastic. Her dog Mimi is an absolute sweetheart, and Shelly is right when she says that if you'd prefer the dog to leave you alone she will basically ignore you - but if you're an animal lover like me, she'll give you all the cuddles and attention you so desire! I wouldn't have wished for anything more out of this experience. It was a short visit and I really hope to stay at Shelly's again.
Shelly was an amazing host. I arrived in Cambridge relatively late and Shelly had no problems letting me in and allowing us to check out late in the afternoon when we were getting ready to leave Cambridge.
If I am in the area again, I will definitely reach out to Shelly. Her dog is a sweetheart as well!
You totally rock Shelly. I'm sorry I didn't get more time to just chat. You seem like a genuinely nice person. Don't change a thing about the space or yourself as a host.
This is the second time we lived in Shelly's house. She is a nice (website hidden) mom did not find her way when she arrived there.Shelly went to there and picked her up.We expect to stay with her next time!
