There is one bedroom I am renting, it has a bathroom on the main level of my home. The room cost $100. There is a kitchen open living room (with a very large TV) and dinning area, you are welcome to use.
I will provide a simple breakfast or you may try one of the restaurants with in walking distance. At the end of the street is a great place for a healthy breakfast and lunch, there is also a pizza and sandwich place and a small store with a ATM machine and a dry cleaners.
Davis Square is a 7 minute walk, there is a movie theater, many different kinds of restaurants, cafes and entertainment, several times a year there are festivals. There is always something to do...
Bright and contemporary, very clean in west Cambridge; a short walk to public transportation that will take you anywhere as well as a quick trip to Harvard Square and Boston. Great affordable restaurants and shopping with in walking distance.
At the end of my short block is a bike and walking path, perfect for a run, walk or ride. It is very safe and constantly used by commuters and dog walkers, runners and cyclists. It is well maintained and quite beautiful.

I had a great time staying in Cambridge with Shelley, David, and Mimi! Shelley was a fantastic host, had breakfast ready every morning, and was really friendly. The room was well lit, quiet, and clean, and it was nice to have a bathroom to myself. Beautiful house, lots of space to lounge around. About half a mile walk to the nearest subway station. Would definitely recommend to anyone who needed a place to stay!
Shelly was the most wonderful host! She was able to accommodate my last minute request, and went above and beyond in helping me feel welcome, the house was super clean, the bed was comfy, and she even left breakfast out every morning! Would definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting the Boston area!
My wife and I are Boston/Cambridge natives who now have moved away. Staying at Shelly's was like coming home. Except it was way cleaner. Fantastic stay in a fantastic neighborhood. Shelly was totally welcoming and helpful. We had a great private room with an super comfy bed, and even a sweet breakfast in the morning. We're definitely coming back next time we want a date and our son's aunt can take our 5 year old. I liked swinging on the glider on the front porch in the first warm sunshine of the year.
Shelly is an amazing host and I really liked her place! I enjoyed my visit to Boston, although very short and some good conversations with her. I hope I can stay longer next time. Shelly, you're welcome to come to Ny too. Thanks a lot!
Sadly, we basically did not get on. Shelly's bf was kind and offered me lunch when I arrived. He worked as a taxi driver and picked me up from the airport at the same rate as what the taxi rank at the airport would charge. Shelly hinted that he could act as my Uber driver which I politely turned down. The room was smaller than I expected, was noisy at night as it was facing the street. It turned out she had two bedrooms for Airbnb and she agreed to swap my room. Unfortunately the new room was dirty - I used a cloth to wipe the table and the cloth turned black. It was obvious to me that Airbnb was a means of cash for Shelly, and I think somehow the spirit of it is lost at her place. With regret, I have to say this is by far my worst Airbnb experience after having stayed in London, Paris, Peru, Nice, Rome and Florence. I forgot to mention that on the day that I was supposed to leave to catch my bus at 6:30am, I was terribly unwell and wanted to see a doctor and missed my bus. Shelly was very unhappy with me that I cancelled my last night with her and would not let me leave my luggage at hers till I have seen the doctor in the morning, we left at 8am.
Me and my boyfriend stayed three nights at Shelly's, and absolutely loved it! The instructions Shelly told us to find her place were very clear, and we were welcomed by her friend David who was very friendly. The bedroom is very nice, just perfect for two persons, and was very clean when we arrived. Shelly had also left a map of the neigbourhood and two bottles of water, which we found both useful!
Shelly's place is ten minutes from the metro, close to Harvard university, and around 15 minutes to the center of Boston, which was perfect for us. We ate breakfast at the appartment as it was more easy for us, and didn't get the chance to try out the restaurants close by in Cambridge, but there are plenty of them and Shelly knows her neigbourhood very well, so you will have no trouble finding a nice place to eat around.
We really enjoyed staying there and talking to Shelly. She is very welcoming and did everything to make our stay great. Oh yes, and her dog is just adorable! If we ever come back to Boston, we will stay at her place again for sure. Thanks a lot Shelly!
