We're a young couple who enjoy hosting travelers in our stylish, clean, private bedroom & bathroom. Includes access to our kitchen. Location has easy access to lots of local attractions (including White Rock Lake) and public transportation.
This is a comfy, clean private bedroom in a pet-free, renovated three-bedroom house with attached private full bathroom (shower, toilet, sink, plenty of fluffy towels) in a quiet Dallas neighborhood close to downtown Dallas (about eight miles) and within walking distance of beautiful White Rock Lake. Newly renovated kitchen is available for your use. Can access downtown (or elsewhere in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including both airports) via public transportation (see below for more on this). Shopping, grocery stores, several coffee joints and restaurants within walking distance. Satellite television in room, and WiFi available in house. Bed is a daybed with a trundle (two twin-sized beds with 450-thread count sheets & several different pillows for you to choose from). Maximum number of guests staying at one time is two (this is based on number of beds and size of room). Parking is available in front of our house (which is on a quiet street). We are two friendly people who treat our guests like friends we just haven't met yet!
**Please note to prospective renters: Please have at least *some* information on your AirBnB profile, i.e., a photo and basic details, before requesting to stay at my house. Just as I'm sure you appreciate having information about me, I'd appreciate knowing a little bit about anyone who will be staying in our home. :) Thanks for your understanding!**
***If you're checking out on a weekday (Monday through Friday), you'll have to check out by 9 a.m. at the latest (so we can lock up and get to work), thank you! Weekend check-out is at 11 a.m.
***Public transportation options: The nearest rail station is Mockingbird Station, about three miles from our door. From Monday-Friday, there is a shuttle that can take you straight from our door to Mockingbird Station, where you can hop on a train (and once you're on a train, it takes about 15-20 min. to get downtown). Or there's a bus stop within walking distance (10 min) that will get you to Mockingbird Station as well (and one that goes directly downtown). Texas in general isn't easy to do without a car, but it can be done! Total trip from D/FW airport via public transportation to our house can take an hour to an hour and a half (there are a couple of transfers involved), but it's easy to do. Depending on our schedules, we're also happy to give renters rides to the train station or downtown -- we've done that several times!
To keep prices low, we do not serve any meals, but guests are always welcome to use our large, renovated kitchen (and all supplies/appliances), as well as our front living room for lounging.
Interaction with Guests
We have as much or as little interaction with our guests as they'd like:)
Free parking in front of our house.
Public transportation is convenient (by Texas standards!). During the week, you can get a shuttle straight from our front door to the nearest rail station (Mockingbird Station). Other times, the bus is an easy a 10-minute walk from our door (and you can use the bus to get either straight downtown or to Mockingbird Station). Of course, Uber & similar services are also readily available in the area.
No smokers, please! Please remove your shoes upon entering our home.
Check-in no earlier than 6 p.m. and no later than 11 p.m. on weekdays (Monday through Friday); check-in on weekends is flexible.
If you're checking out on a weekday (Monday through Friday), please plan to be out of the house by 9 a.m. at the latest (so we can lock up and get to work!). Weekend check-out is by 11 a.m. Thank you!
Quiet time please (low voices, TV set to low volume, etc.) after 11 p.m. every night.
Absolutely amazing! Jennifer has the cleanest and prettiest house. Would recommend to anyone.
Very accurate picture. Great space for my time and had very nice lotions and other toiletries--even a shower cap! I wish they would have been around more but they were super busy with work which was understandable. Otherwise, nice stay!
It was great spending 3 nights with Jennifer and Stephen. Their place was very clean and neat. We were made very welcome. Checking in and out was very easy. The guide provided had loads of great information on local attractions and restaurants. The house was a short drive from the local metro station which made getting into downtown really easy. Really great hosts, would happily stay here again
Yes the room looks exactly like the photo and better. Great private bath no tub though. The house is immaculate so you really have to stay on your toes to be respectful. They had a nice information sheet that tells you everything and be sure to read it before asking for something, they got it covered.
Jennifer was very nice to stay up late to meet us well after midnight. The place was very cute and clean and beautifully decorated. Jennifer and her husband were very helpful in educating us about Dallas neighborhoods.
Jennifer and Stephen made me feel very welcome in Dallas. Especially when she kept volunteering to drive me from mockingbird to her home as well as from her house to my next destination when I needed to checkout.
I was able to use her kitchen freely. My favorite part of the house is the bathroom because it was so clean and spacious. I could see that Jennifer has put in a lot of effort to make me comfortable. The shampoo was full, there were multiple types of soap incase one wasn't suitable. The water was hot - just the way I like it.
A little on the room, again no complaints. The tv was huge, wifi was fast and the bed is so comfy I always fall asleep immediately.
All in all, it felt like it was my home even though I only had a short stay with them. They were always helpful, providing advice and information whenever I had problems.
I am sure anyone and everyone who stays with Jennifer would enjoy it for sure. I would stay here again if I have the chance in future.
Jennifer and I had a little chat when I arrived which made me feel welcome. She provides info about the area, which is helpful. The room and bathroom are really clean and comfortable. I like the area - lots of restaurants in the Mockingbird Station area in one direction, then a lovely lake in the opposite direction. My drive downtown for business was good by avoiding highways if it was rush hour. Abrams to Gaston was a fine alternate route. I would stay with Jennifer again!
We're a 30-something married couple (no kids, no pets, both work full-time) with plenty of room in our single-family, three-bedroom house to accommodate budget-conscious travelers! We're big movie buffs and love to travel, and are partial to staying in hostels or AirBnB-type accommodations. We're also very willing to help anyone new to the Dallas area with sightseeing information or directions.
