I have a twin bed in one room and a queen bed in another bedroom. The twin rents for $40/night and the queen for $45 with $10 for an extra person in the queen room. The queen bed is a sleep number bed before they had the numbers. It has two mattresses in it with separate controls for adjusting firmness. This listing is for the twin room. I rent out both rooms at the same time, so there may be a shared bathroom. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom and access to curling irons or a flat iron.
There is a large kitchen for your use, a bathroom, wifi and a beautiful backyard with a deck and a washer and dryer for your use while you are here. I have a coffee machine and an electric pot for heating water. There is also a blender and a toaster oven if you need them. There is plenty of cabinet and frig. space for your food if you are here for a longer stay. There will be either fruit, rolls, eggs or oatmeal for you to have for breakfast, along with some juice and coffee or (website hidden) neighborhood is in the Beaumont district which is close to the Hollywood. district This area has 2 coffee shops within walking distance, 3 micro breweries within walking distance and many many shops and restaurants, also within walking distance. Close by in Hollywood is the historic Hollywood Theater for just $7/ticket!
There are two major bus lines with one that goes directly downtown. There is also a train connection right in Hollywood. The drive to downtown is 10 minutes and 10-15 minutes to the airport. There is absolutely no airplane noise. I am not in a flight path and I am not so close to the airport that that would be a concern. There is street parking in front of the house. It is plentiful and free!
I will be able to point you in the right direction for many Portland hot spots, such as the Pearl District, Hawthorne St, 23rd Avenue, Alberta St. the convention center , Mississippi Ave.., the tram, the zoo and much more. There is a TV with Netflix in the living room, a DVD player and a baby grand piano, if you like to play.
A stroll through the neighborhoods can be very relaxing and entertaining with all of the different homes and gardens to view. The neighborhood, near Alameda St., is frequently one for walking tours. I also have 2 bikes for riding. One is a Townie and the other is a recumbent bike. Riding around the neighborhoods in the summer is a favorite thing to do. It stays light late here in the summer.
My house is 10-15 minutes away from the airport, bus station and train station. I will provide transportation to and from the bus station, airport or train station if my schedule allows. I am charging a $10,00 each way for this service for gas and convenience.
If you are an Airbnb member with a picture and have had a review, your reservation will be accepted within an hour of request. You, the member must be the one coming to stay in the room if you reserve. Please do not reserve for anyone else until we have conversed. I have had some problems in this area, so would appreciate that consideration.
I will do everything I can to make your visit comfortable and pleasant.
Lovely , location and cozy home. love that Leigh is a Piano Instructor and we had a lot to talk and share.
This was my first time to Portland and Leigh's place was the perfect spot for me - easy walking distance to great coffee shops, restaurants and transportation. She offered a great balance between being available for me to chat and ask questions and also giving me my space. The room was comfy, the neighborhood quiet, and the house clean. What more could you ask for?
Leigh was very prompt, kind and responsive when I reached out to her. Though she wasn't in town when I stayed at her home, my visit was great. Leigh's house is very clean and comfortable. I would certainly recommend this room.
Leigh is delightful and wow she really keeps her place (email hidden)t so much that you won't feel comfortable it is just very tasteful and clean. The word "funky" which some descriptions of places includes, does NOT apply here! Beautiful neighborhood too.
This was a return stay at Leigh's lovely home. Leigh's place feels like home. It is comfortable, quiet and has all the conveniences we needed on our business trip. Leigh is a helpful host who also leaves you with your own space and doesn't hover. Everything is very clean. The bed was very comfortable and she provided extra blankets and comforter so I could be as warm as I wanted to be. I had plenty of closet space to hang my clothes and a nice dresser with drawer space for my stuff. The room has nice artwork on the walls and a beautiful designer rug on the floor. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you might need to prepare a meal. Making my own eggs for breakfast from free range chicken eggs and real butter on real plates rather than commercially packaged factory food on paper plates that you get in most "serve yourself" hotel breakfasts is sooo nice -- just like home. Leigh is a conscientious, healthy food person. She makes good food choices available.
A friend and colleague from another state and I shared the two bedrooms and bath. We found this location to work well for us going back and forth to the Rose Quarter where our conference was being held. The neighborhood business district looked like it offered anything we might want if we were spending time there.
Coming in late at night from our conference, it was like coming home. We just walked from our car parked at the curb and walked up the sidewalk and climbed the few stairs to the house. No walking across big parking lots, no dodging through a busy lobby, no long walk down long corridors -- easy.
Leigh is a friendly and providing host. We had some nice conversations but she doesn't take your time if you need to be getting somewhere on a schedule. She is very knowledgeable of the area. Last year she directed us to some good places to eat. This year she helped me find a church for Sunday morning.
Thank you, Leigh for being a great Airbnb host and sharing your comfortable home and kitty cat!!
My stay at Leigh's home was my first experience with AirBnb and I feel very fortunate to have found her. I had a lengthy stay and felt comfortable throughout all of it. She is a warm and generous host with a lovely home that is very welcoming whether you are staying for business or pleasure. In addition to the interior rooms, her porch and backyard are lovely spaces for enjoying your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Her home is located on a flower filled street that is walking distance from several lovely areas with great restaurants and shops. I had a car and was happy to find plenty of space for parking on the street. However, her home was close enough to a light rail station that I left the car on several days. Her home is a wonderful place for those who are traveling to Portland for the first time or returning visitors. I highly recommend Leigh and her home for a wonderful stay in Portland.
I was in Portland for only a couple of days and was out during the day and was literally there to sleep. The room was neat and clean and comfortable with plenty of covers, as I get cold easily at night. A shared bathroom is not ideal but I knew that was the circumstance ahead of time.
I met Leigh only once; she is friendly and accommodates her guests well. The street is dark at night and house numbers hard to see. The piano lesson sign makes it easy once you know it's there so that might be mentioned in the description if it isn't.
I stayed for two days here and liked it so much! Leigh is a very friendly host with a big hospitality. She taught me how to cook steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. There is a piano in the living room and she let me play which I enjoyed a lot. I definitely recommend her house if you go to Portland.
Leigh was my first experience with airbnb and I think I struck gold my first time out. Her comfortable home suited by needs to a tee, as did the location. Highly rated Portland restaurants, coffee shops, food trucks, neighbourhood pubs and bakeries were within walking distance. Leigh was generous with her space, and advice about Portland and its attractions and pocket neighbourhoods. She even gave me a tour of the neighbourhood gardens by bike. I feel I should be made an honourary Portlander, or given the keys to the city, or something. Thanks for making my stay so easy Leigh!
Leigh was a great host. Her home was clean and pleasant, and she was easy going and fun to talk to.
