Welcome to 'Hale Melia' (House of Plumeria Flowers), your Kauai home away from home!
A ground floor unit with an artistic and Asian flair - we are just steps away from the gardens, pool and ocean. Our fully stocked kitchen has granite counters, housewares and there is a shared barbeque area in the gardens. The bedroom has a king bed with new mattress, teak furnishings and is light and airy. Sliding glass doors onto the lanai with views of Prince Kuhio State Park and the ocean are brightest in the morning.
• The acclaimed Beach House Restaurant is across the street and world class surfing at breaks just in front of the restaurant.
• A safe swimming and snorkeling cove is just off the grassy lawn where you can swim with the turtles as well as myriads of brightly colored fish.
• Less than a miles down the road is the spectacular Spouting Horn, an ocean blowhole that spouts geysers of water.
• Nearby is the Kukui'ula Small Boat Harbor for snorkel, dive or fishing tours.
• Just beyond that is the National Botanical Tropical Gardens where scenes of Jurassic Park and Pirates of the Caribean were filmed.
• Walk 10 minutes to the Kukui'ula Village, an upscale shopping resort of restaurants, shops and a gourmet farmer's market on Wednesday afternoons.
• Our lanai overlooks the Prince Kuhio State Park, a verdant and quiet park of ancient Hawaiian ruins and 'heiaus'.

We had a wonderful stay, thanks to Dan & Barbara. The condo was clean and roomy, with everything you could need and full of beach equipment. The beach is realy close to the condo this is also a good spot for sunset. The Kukui'ula Village shopping/dinning center nearby was really nice.

Dan and Barbara were wonderful hosts. They sent us a welcome note with tips such as the location of the closest grocery store and restaurants weeks before our trip and were very easy to communicate with. The condo is in a great location across the street from the ocean and next to a park. The house is stocked with beach towels, snorkels, and a full kitchen. We had a wonderful time in Kauai and thank Dan and Barbara for their hospitality.
A great location close to the ocean with great snorkeling and surfing. The kitchen is equipped with almost everything you would need. Roosters are aplenty at this location however so dont expect to sleep in!
Had a very enjoyable time. Everything you need is walking/short driving distance away. The beach was awesome. Just across the street. Great snorkling!! We caught a few glimpses of the turtles. What a thrill that was. Groceries are nearby for the health enthusiasts and another for those on a budget. If you have seen Kauai before this is a great place to take your shoes off and relax. Cause seriously, everything you need is there.
we spend a week there in october. it was a great place, a very clean and good condition one bed room apartment with plenty of space for two people. the kitchen is well equipped allowing us to prepare daily island fruit breakfast cook simple dinner when we are tired of eating out. the condo is on the ground floor so you do get some noise from above but it is manageable. you are steps away from the pool and the bbq area which we didn't use since there were so much to do outside. across the street is the beach house restaurant which has a great view. next to it is a beautiful beach, perfect for swimming or snorkeling. if you want, you can stay here and have a great vacation. the rest of the island is different but not better. you are also 10 minutes from the botanical garden in one direction and the old town in another. be sure to try the koloa fish market for their ahi poke bento. also, drop by the buddhist temple down the street and pick up couple of papaya in exchange for a modest donation. if you happen to be in town on mondays, the weekly farmers market is just up the street (but be soon to show up 15 minutes before noon for the full experience). you are also only 30 minutes from the town of waimea where you can have lunch before driving up the canyon. in short, this is a great basecamp for the island of kauai.
We spent a wonderful two weeks at this condo and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. Not only did they answer my questions before we left, they sent instructions on how to get there and helpful shopping and restaurant tips. The condo was comfortable and right across from some incredible snorkeling where my 5 year old even held an octopus after swimming with 8 sea turtles. I loved the well stocked kitchen and my daughter loved the pool- she swam in it everyday. The washing machine and dryer were a big bonus with a child and various ice-cream spills. The condo is one I would return to and sits next to a park that provides some privacy and distance from other condos in the area. The gardens are lovely and the condo is situated well so it was easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. My daughter thanks you for the use of the boogie board. We had a great stay and would return. Thanks to Dan for all his help.
