The Space

The Last Resort... that's right...! the name says it all....
If you are expecting luxury definitely not the place for you.
This accommodation is fill with mismatching items, well worn objects, and Wacky decor.
500 sqft apartment located on a second floor of an old Bungalow. Its structures are a bit deteriorated, but yet conserved in good and clean condition. It is overall a very cozy space. It has 1 bedroom with a full size pillow top mattress, very,,very comfortable. One night table with storage and a dresser with mirror and 6 draws.
The bathroom has a tub with shower curtain, Soap and Bath towels included.
Kitchen has a cool dinette set with four chairs, pots, dishes, mug, coffee maker etc included.
Living room has a love seat, a comfortable chair, coffee table, ceiling fan, and TV.
Laundry room is outside the apartment and it is coin operated. Community court yard with charcoal BBQ grill and living room area.
It is a lovely apartment in its own way, and most important you get to bring your lovely pet with you. Half a block from the beach, 3 minutes from public transportation and steps to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and all the concession stand in the boardwalk.

  • We had such wonderful time at Rockaway and Jen and Joe were a huge part of that experience! They were super responsive to questions and yet let us have our privacy. The last reviewer was right, the oven didn't work. So Joe had a new one in the apartment within 24 hours! The place is indeed simple and bare but that's exactly what we were looking for. Affordable and simplistic. Thank you Jen and Joe--we'll be back!

  • WALLS ARE COVERED IN MOLD. Beware! This is very Dangerous.

Not worth the money--- there is an Amazing theme hotel for $15 more. on 96th st called Playland.

This post hurricane sandy shack shouldn't be rented out until Completely safe. Also, very far away from everything 110th st.

*Not Pet friendly*. Also extra hidden fee for house pets

Kitchen sink + shower drain clogs immediately
And linens have mold stains all over them.
    Oven also doesn't work.

Sketchy host tried to take my deposit after complaining to airbnb that I clogged their shower and ripped their sheets, left sand at the front door and 4lbs. pet pooped by their front yard on the way to the beach in the morning

I offered to hose down their entire yard/ they declined.
I also donated a dog dish to their shack since they don't have any for a dog to use.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone out of the sake it's not safe for anyone lungs to inhale this Mold.

    This place should be condemned.

Question: what did this people do with FEMA money?? Cause they certainly didn't put it into this shit hole.

  • We live in Brooklyn and just wanted a close beach escape, and that's exactly what we got.

The place is exactly what they describe it as - no frills, clean, a block from the beach.

Jen & Joe were great - ultra-accommodating and helpful with any questions.

  • I was able to stay in the Last Resort for more than 2 weeks. It was delightful. The apartment has everything you need. The reason I give 5 stars is due to the personal attention from Jenny and Joe. They make sure that their guests are happy. I'm very glad I met them. It was a terrific stay.

Tips: bring a bicycle. It broadens your possibilities. To the west, you have Riis Park, Breezy Point, and Ft. Tilden. To the east, you have the 3 big concession stand beaches (at 106, 96, and 86) .. and onward towards Long Beach. Or, you can go to over the causeway to the Wildlife Preserve. Or, to the closest beach entrance 110, which is less crowded. So many adventures within reach.. and when you get done, you can chill in the courtyard at home, and use the firepit / barbecue if you wish.

  • The apartment was exactly what we were looking for. It was cute, clean and about a minute from the beach. Beyond that the neighbors were very kind. I would recommend the place to anyone who is looking for a relaxing place to stay out at Rockaway.

  • Joe and Jen were very welcoming, enjoyed talking with them. First of all want to congratulate them on their new baby daughter. The apt. was as pictured, no frills, but certainly sufficient for our week's stay. You can
't beat the location, we walked to everything. The renos Joe are doing are great and their other apts. are beautiful. We will be back.
