Comfortable, quality art house feel with air and light minutes from the most exciting and eclectic street in Melbourne, Acland St. Enjoy unusual decor, a mix of old-world and modern close to beach and botanical gardens.
This and an apartment next door, the mirror image of each other, can accommodate up to 12 people. Put the price for 6 into the search and the price you get will be for EACH apt. Please note, the price is not the same if you add 12 guests to one apt booking. My neighbour's listing link is https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2012694?guests=6&s=PM72
This gorgeous apartment has a new Bosch dishwasher, Turkish leather couch, antique lacquered wardrobe, hand knotted Shiraz carpet, luxury linen and original art work.
The apartment is a three minute walk from Acland St St Kilda which is the oldest, most popular area of Melbourne. Not only visitors from Interstate and Overseas visit Acland and Fitzroy Streets (nearby), but even Melburnians flock there on weekends.
At either end of Acland St are trams to the city (20 minutes) and Balaclava (5 minutes) where there's another whole world of interesting shops.
Acland St itself has the best restaurants and cake shops you'll find in Melbourne, from Blue Corn, the best home made Mexican food (hand made burritos, tacos and tortillas) you'll find in this half of the globe, to Leroys, the coffee connoisseur's choice, delicious Chinta Ria's Malaysian kitchen and Santa Anas Tapas Bar to die for.
A three minute walk behind the apartment is the 100-year-old St Kilda Botanical Gardens with gazebos, a lake and rose garden. The beach is ten minutes by foot. There is a bicycle path which goes for kilometres along the beach and you can hire bicycles nearby at St Kilda Cycles.
Large rooms, sunny, an aesthetic pleasure. New ikea kitchen.
Delightful atmosphere with lovely lamps, original artworks and intriguing, unique prints. Kitchen has good quality cooking gear.
Please note, for stays of three nights or less, a cleaning surcharge of $60 applies. This should be left in cash for the cleaner in the apartment.

Well appointed apartment in a superb location only a stones throw from Acland St. where all the action is! Everything was clean and tidy, all the linen clean and fresh.
Amazing location. Was with in a wonderful walk to plenty to do and see. Will be looking to stay here every chance we get when in town on business! Fantastic service with zero issues was exactly as described.
Barbara was an excellent host. Because our group had eight people she helped to organise for us to rent both her apartment and another next door. Both apartments were great and in an excellent location. Ian, the owner of the second apartment was who I dealt with most and he was very accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend staying in either Barbara's or Ian's apartments.
The accommodation was exactly what we had hoped for... Lovely comfy beds and fantastic location for those of us that love to be part of the street cafe culture.. Thankyou, we hope to be able to stay with you again. :) Leonie and Co.....
I stayed at Barbara's apartment during a work trip with a few colleagues and we all found it clean, cozy and convenient for dining and going out. Barbara was very easy to get a hold of and helped me during my entire stay. Thank you and hope to stay with you next time I'm in Melbourne!

Four of us spent 3 nights at Barbara's place. It's a solid building with a rustic charm. It was unfortunate that there was a heatwave on as it got very hot inside. There were 2 fans, but only so effective. We still enjoyed our stay there, as it was handy to everything we needed. The beds and couches were very comfortable with a large TV screen to watch the tennis. The beach was a short walk away which was very pleasant at the end of an extremely hot day. Overall
the apartment is in a good location which would make it a good choice for anyone visiting.
Mary-Anne was a lovely guest and kind in her private response to me. I only wish she had posted in the public view her comment "The weather was out of the ordinary, so usually probably not such a problem" This is the case. Temperatures while she was there wer ein the mid-40s and went on for some days which iis not typical of Melbourne summer weather. Normally the apartment stays cool for three days during hot weather because of the solid double brick construction..I was in Europe at the time and the winter was positively balmy, so freak weather conditions are possible.

Hi, I'm Barbara. Thanks for your interest in my apartments. I have three on this site. I operate one Paris and two Melbourne, Australia short stay designer apartments which are specifically set up for short stays. The Paris apt is located centrally and overlooks a park. The Melbourne ones are in and around St Kilda. My apartments are located near all the wonderful street life the area has to offer, close to cafes and trendy restaurants as well as public transport. If you want to experience this vibrant community, which attracts overseas visitors and Melburnian locals, or have any more questions, please let me know! Thanks for looking. Barbara
