We've got great outdoor space. On a chilly night, you're likely to find Frank in the back, stoking a fire in the fire pit. Pull up an Adirondak chair and warm your feet.

Interaction with Guests
We both work irregular schedules and are in and out throughout the day. We are happy to give you your space and privacy. We can also be available if you need someone to guide you around and show you the ropes. The level of interaction is entirely up to you, our guest.
We love that our neighborhood is in close proximity to so much of what is new and happening in Austin. We can walk to our favorite coffee shop (Benu), mini-grocery (The Wet Whistle) and excellent eatery (Joe's Place). A small park at the end of our street is a nice place to chill and watch the kids play on the splash-pad (we can get wet, too!)
There is a bus stop 1 1/2 short blocks from our house. The train is about 1 mile to the east of us, and you can catch a bus to downtown or the train 4 blocks to the north of us. There is another bus route 2 blocks to the south that will take you into the heart of town as well.
Other Things to Note
We have a spare bicycle we are happy to loan you. Nothing fancy, but a reliable set of wheels. We just ask that you please always use the lock provided and return it home each night.
I'm told we need house rules, so here they are: Please be prepared to show government issued photo i.d. when you arrive (you show us yours and we'll show your ours.) You may use the washer and dryer, but please take the crayolas, loose change, etc. out of your pockets first. We have a bike you may use. Please lock it wherever you go and bring it home at night. You may use the kitchen and cookware, etc, but please buy your own groceries. Er...what else...oh yeah, please keep the doors locked at all time, and the door to your room closed to keep scratching kitties out. Please, no smoking anything inside the house. Please use ashtray on decks or back yard if you smoke. We enjoy making our home nice for you, and those who follow, so please leave it nice when you leave. (Translation: Please don't trash our house, thank you!) ;-)
I had a wonderful time staying at Sharon and Frank's place - the house is beautiful and the room is very comfortable and well appointed, and the private bathroom is a huge plus. Everything is spotlessly clean. I went for sxsw and found the location to be good - it's not right in the middle of things, and is easy to get around using a taxi or car service. Transit is also close by. Sharon and Frank are incredibly friendly and warm - always helpful with suggestions and made me feel very welcome in their home. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with them again or to recommend their place to anyone.
Sharon and Frank are thoughtful, delightful and knowledgable. They treated me as if I were a guest at a Bed and Breakfast with welcome cards, snacks and treats. Everything in the house was at my disposal. The beautifully decorated, comfortable home is in a neighborhood close to all the hip, restaurants and bars and less than 2 miles from downtown. Definitely go to Figure 8 Coffee, East Side Pies, Three Little Pigs while there.
Sharon and Frank are the people you hope to meet via AirBnb. Kind, hospitable, full of local knowledge and interesting people to spend time with.
I cannot recommend them enough. I'll certainly stay with them again next time I'm in town.
Sharon and Frank are wonderful, kind, hilarious social people and very active in the community. They have a wealth of knowledge about the Arts the music and happenings in Austin.
I came for the SXSW conference they were accommodating for my needs as a conference guest and then afterwards as a tourist having fun.
The room is 5 star, renovated gorgeous bathroom, the house is beautifully decorated.
Frank and Sharon were generous lots of fun to be around they truly have a passion for travellers and love to share the joys of life. You will have a marvellous time at their place as well as out and about at all the music and Arts venues in Austin.
About the Host, Sharon
My husband and I are from Austin, TX. Its great living in this non-stop town. The rivers, lakes and greenbelts provide great outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, biking, rowing, swimming and more. Besides enjoying the outdoors, we like a night on the town, taking in a night at the ballet, dancing to great live bands, scoping out the local theater scene or just enjoying some sushi and sake. The music festivals are annual events for us: South By Southwest, Old Settlers, ACL, Kerrville Folk Festival and Fischer Fest. We love to travel, too! Our adventures have taken us to Thailand, Japan, China, Greece, France, England, Belize, Caribbean, Canada, Mexico and all over the USA. We enjoy skiing, scuba diving, hiking, kayaking, and cycling. We like being home, too, cooking, creating or puttering in the garden, growing our own veggies. We are entrepreneurs: Frank has an import business and I have a Oriental Medicine clinic next to the UT campus. As a retiree from the airlines, I have passes which provide us ample opportunity to travel. We share our house with 2 loveable kitties. Meow! We love our life and we love making new friends from all over!
