The Space

We are 1.5 miles east of the state capital. Easy biking distance to Bob Bullock History Museum, Blanton Museum, famous 6th St. which now extends east of I-35. Excellent restaurants, bistros, and watering holes abound on the East Side. The all night diner "Star Seeds: a few miles to the north, an easy bike ride. There's a great coffee shop, Benu, a 5 minute walk from the house, and the new hot spot, "Hillside Pharmacy" is a 5-7 minute bike ride.

We've got great outdoor space. Two large decks provide lots of shady outdoor space where you can start the day with a cup of java, relax at the end of the day with a glass of wine or curl up in our over-sized deck chairs with your favorite author. On a chilly night, you're likely to find Frank in the back, stoking a fire in the fire pit. Pull up an Adirondak chair and warm your feet.

You'll have access to a well equipped kitchen (stove, fridge, wine cooler, microwave, VitaMix, juicer, dehydrator, food processor and, of course, coffee maker. We have stainless cookware, dishes, linen napkins...everything you'll need.)

The living room has over-sized leather sofa and chair and additional rattan chairs. There is a wall-mounted flat screen t.v. with cable and Tevo, and a stereo. (Wi-fi through out, of course!)

The bedroom has a sleeper sofa with an inflatable mattress and memory foam topper, television with cable, boom box with cd player, and deep closet for your things. By day, its a private living area, by night a comfortable bedroom.

There is a separate bathroom adjacent to the bedroom for your personal use. It is equipped with a bath/shower, toilet, and pedestal sink. Lots of hooks for your towel and swimsuit (handy after a dip in Barton Springs!)

We are only a 10-12 minute cab ride from the airport. If we're in town, we can arrange to pick you up at the airport, too. ;-) If you rent a car, there is on the street parking readily accessible. There is a bus route 1 1/2 blocks from the front door.

About
My husband and I are from Austin, TX. Its great living in this non-stop town. The rivers, lakes and greenbelts provide great outdoor activities like kayaking, hiking, biking, rowing, swimming and more. Besides enjoying the outdoors, we like a night on the town, dancing to great live bands, scoping out the local theater scene or just enjoying some sushi and sake. The music festivals are annual events for us: South By Southwest, Old Settlers, ACL, Kerrville and Rice Fest. We love to travel, too! Our adventures have taken us to Thailand, Japan, China, Greece, France, England, Belize, Caribbean, Canada, Mexico and all over the USA. We enjoy skiing, scuba diving, hiking, kayaking, and cycling. We like being home, too, puttering in the garden, growing our own veggies. We are entrepreneurs: Frank has an import business and I have a Oriental Medicine clinic on the East Side. I also work for the airlines, which provides us opportunities to travel. We share our house with 3 loveable kitties. We love our life and we love making new friends from all over!
