The space

:: Hi there and welcome to my listing! ::

It's my fifth year of being an AirBNB host, and I can't wait to share Chicago with you! A newly renovated modern bathroom and full kitchen await you, and the Logan Square neighborhood just keeps getting better and better. Get yourself over here!

This two-bedroom, one-bath cozy ground-level apartment makes a great home base from which to explore hip Logan Square's restaurants, coffee houses and farmers market as well as a perfect point of departure for the rest of Chicago.
- 10- to 15-minute walk (at a leisurely pace) to/from the Logan Square Blue Line el station
- 40-minute train ride from O'Hare
- 25-minute train ride to downtown

:: Important basics ::
- Accommodates four people maximum, but can be COZY for four adults.
- On-street PARKING is easily available and free (it requires a neighborhood permit which is provided).
- In summer, a window unit air conditioner cools the place down.
- You are welcome to enjoy the front patio and a shared backyard with Weber Grill/BBQ.
- There is a radio/docking station for your iPhone/iPod.
- Yes, towels are provided.
- No dishwasher (sorry).
- No pets. No exceptions.
- No TV.
- Again, it is an English Garden apartment AT GROUND LEVEL so it doesn't get a ton of sunlight, but large windows and good light fixtures work to combat that.

There is no TV. I do not want you to be disappointed, so if you are an avid TV-watcher, this is not the place for you.

:: The Place ::
It is an English Garden apartment (ground level) in a vintage 3-flat; I live upstairs. The apartment is decorated in a fun vintage modern style with comfort and function foremost. It combines historic charm (wood floors and quirky closets) with 21st-century must-haves (WiFi, many coffee makers and shared washer/dryer).

I want you to be comfortable: This means comfortable furniture, good mattresses, 100% cotton sheets, excellent artwork, well-equipped kitchen, and super clean everything.

:: The Neighborhood ::
Logan Square is very residential but has pockets of great restaurants and bars (Fat Rice, Hachi's Kitchen, Longman & Eagle, Lula Cafe, Masa Azul, Revolution Brewing, Webster's Wine Bar and The Whistler, among many others) all in walking distance, as well as coffee houses (Intelligentsia, Gaslight and Starbucks) and a handful of independent shops plus a great movie theater. In summer, the Logan Square Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm.

PLEASE NOTE that the neighborhood is hip and "up and coming," but it is NOT in the heart of Chicago tourist attractions (downtown). Downtown and the lakefront are 3 miles away. To get to the north side neighborhoods (Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park Zoo) requires a cab ride or bus/train combo travel.

:: The "Hotelier" ::
I live upstairs in a separate apartment and am available for anything you need (directions, recommendations, etc.), but I will generally be invisible unless you need me. Honestly, I just want this to be a cool and accommodating getaway for visitors who wish to experience Chicago as a local would!

:: Guests We Like ::
The guests we like are respectful, tread-lightly types who are easy to get a hold of, can follow a couple of simple rules, and clean up after themselves. They are not put off by an urban environment and generally appreciate the arts, culture and good food. They hang wet towels to dry, do not leave a sink full of dirty dishes and leave a review shortly after their stay.

*** Please do not make a reservation request until you have completed your profile, including a photo and verifications. That is part of what makes AirBNB a "community," as opposed to staying at a hotel. As well, it gives the hosts a better level of security as we are letting people into our homes and on to our private property. Much appreciated. ***

Thanks for reading. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sarah's apartment was great. The pictures truly represent the unit and the remodeled bathroom is beautiful. Logan Square is a great neighborhood that offers many amenities but is also such a quick metro ride to downtown, Wicker Park, and Bucktown. Street parking was abundant. I will definitely book again for another trip.

This was our second time at Sarah's and it won't be the last. It is our home away from home and it has everything you need. A great kitchen, a fantastic bathroom and shower, an incredible living room and garden... It is very quiet but You are surrounded by the best award winning bars and restaurants in Chicago. If you want to go to the Loop, the blue line is 5 minutes away but you won't need to leave Logan square. Sarah is really easy to contact and always super helpful. We love you Sarah!

First off, let me say... Sarah's place was a last minute booking. My girlfriend and I are expecting a baby this summer and booked a trip to Chicago. A nice little getaway before buckling down into first time parent mode. A week before our trip our original host from Airbnb emailed me saying "a vehicle ran into my home and I have to cancel 5 weeks of reservations" I of course went into panic mode! Where would we find a decent place for a "shared" home price?! I looked and looked, and stumbled on Sara's place. I'm BEYOND happy I did! She was able to work with us with our last minute accommodations and budget! She was truly amazing. Her communication is quick and was ALWAYS eager to help and make our stay effortless. We ended up buying some vintage goodies and she was even nice enough to offer to ship it back to Texas for us bc it was a tad too big for our bag!!! As far as location, I would say that her description nails it! It's a up and coming neighborhood with some AMAZING food spots. Sarah has a folder with all good spots close buy and menus inside! We ended up choosing "FAT RICE" on our first evening and it was FANTASTIC! Her place is in a great spot if you choose to take advantage of Chicago transit system! Minutes from the train and blocks from the bus in most directions. This was our best experience by far with AIRBNB. I would highly recommend choosing this awesome space anytime thinking of checking out Chicago! Thank you Sarah!!!

Sarah's apartment is cozy and comfortable. Although garden level, it has big windows and her fresh decor keeps it from feeling like a basement. The location was great. The apartment was quiet. It is an old building, so if you need new this isn't for you. We enjoyed it and would gladly return.

Sarah User ProfileSarah is a superhost.

Midwestern urban farm girl who appreciates art, architecture, travel, good food and good friends. I wear many hats, among them interior decorator, writer, corporate marketing veteran, vintage/antique dealer and landlord. I've owned my Logan Square property for more than 11 years and have lived in Chicago on and off for the last 25 with a stint in Washington, DC. I am excited to welcome fellow travelers who like to explore "off the beaten path" and proud to welcome them into my home, which is my pride and joy.

My personal recent travels include a long weekend in Detroit, some great hiking in Park City, Utah, a very long break on Kauai and some urban fun in NYC.
