This two-bedroom, one-bath cozy ground-level apartment makes a great home base from which to explore hip Logan Square's restaurants, coffee houses and farmers market as well as a perfect point of departure for the rest of Chicago.
- 10-minute walk to/from the Logan Square Blue Line el station
- 40-minute train ride from O'Hare
- 25-minute train ride to downtown
:: Important basics ::
- Accommodates four people maximum, but can be COZY for four adults.
- On-street PARKING is easily available and free (it requires a neighborhood permit which is provided).
- In summer, a window unit air conditioner cools the place down.
- You are welcome to enjoy the front patio and a shared backyard with Weber Grill/BBQ.
- There is a radio/docking station for your iPhone/iPod.
- Yes, towels are provided.
- No dishwasher (sorry).
- No pets. No exceptions.
- No TV.
- Again, it is an English Garden apartment AT GROUND LEVEL so it doesn't get a ton of sunlight, but large windows and good light fixtures work to combat that.
:: IMPORTANT DETAIL::
There is no TV. I do not want you to be disappointed, so if you are an avid TV-watcher, this is not the place for you.
:: The Place ::
It is an English Garden apartment (ground level) in a vintage 3-flat; I live upstairs. The apartment is decorated in a fun vintage modern style with comfort and function foremost. It combines historic charm (wood floors and quirky closets) with 21st-century must-haves (WiFi, every kind of coffee maker possible and shared washer/dryer).
I want you to be comfortable: This means comfortable furniture, good mattresses, great 100% cotton sheets, excellent artwork, well-equipped kitchen, and super clean everything.
:: The Neighborhood ::
Logan Square is very residential but has pockets of great restaurants and bars (Fat Rice, Hachi's Kitchen, Longman & Eagle, Lula Cafe, Masa Azul, Revolution Brewing, Webster's Wine Bar and The Whistler, among many others) all in walking distance, as well as coffee houses (Intelligentsia, Letizia's, Gaslight and Starbucks) and a handful of independent shops plus a great movie theater. In summer, the Logan Square Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm.
PLEASE NOTE that the neighborhood is hip and "up and coming," but it is NOT in the heart of Chicago tourist attractions (downtown). Downtown and the lakefront are 3 miles away. To get to the north side neighborhoods (Wrigley Field, Lincoln Park Zoo) requires a cab ride or bus/train combo travel.
:: The "Hotelier" ::
I live upstairs in a separate apartment and am available for anything you need (directions, recommendations, etc.), but I will generally be invisible unless you need me. Honestly, I just want this to be a cool and accommodating getaway for visitors who wish to experience Chicago as a local would!
:: Guests We Like ::
The guests we like are respectful, tread-lightly types who are easy to get a hold of, can follow a couple of simple rules, and clean up after themselves. They are not put off by an urban environment and generally appreciate the arts, culture and good food. They hang wet towels to dry, do not leave a sink full of dirty dishes and leave a review shortly after their stay.
*** Please do not make a reservation request until you have completed your profile, including a photo and verifications. That is part of what makes AirBNB a "community," as opposed to staying at a hotel. As well, it gives the hosts a better level of security as we are letting people into our homes and on to our private property. Much appreciated. ***

•Check in: 3 pm. You are welcome to drop your bags if you arrive earlier, but I need to know in advance. If we have not communicated otherwise, please call or text me so I know you have arrived and all is well. After 10:30 pm, please text only.
•Check out: 11 am. You may store your bags for up to four hours after that, but please let me know in advance. Call or text (phone number hidden) to confirm you have departed.
•Cigarette smoking is allowed on the front patio or back yard. No smoking inside the apartment. Please do not empty ashtrays inside the building.
•No pets please.
