Stepping through the front door, my husband and I found ourselves in the wonderfully decorated home of Bob and Betsy. The stairway to the suite on the second floor is conveniently located off the foyer.
We felt right at home. The bed was comfortable, and the full bathroom has a shower as well as a jacuzzi (that works better than going to the chiropractor). We really appreciated having the two bathrooms. The living room also includes a sitting area tucked into a bay window. We set up our laptops in this sitting nook. It was so pleasant sitting there while catching up on emails. The Wifi worked great.
Our visit was geared to spending time with family members who lived nearby. While we were there, a brief snowfall resulted in difficult driving conditions and we had to change some evening plans. Rather than risk driving on icy streets, our family members were able to catch a bus for a 10-minute ride to the row house. We were so glad that the row house was close to a transit route. We all then literally walked across the street to the Veranda restaurant and had a great time. Worked out so well!
We enjoyed our brief conversations with Bob and Betsy. We headed over to a special exhibit at the Freer Gallery which Betsy suggested. Bob gave us suggestions for neighborhood coffee spots. Both Bob and Betsy were very welcoming, and one evening, when we came in from the snow, Betsy handed us some packets for hot chocolate. Other nice touches included milk and bottled water already waiting for us in the mini-fridge, and a bottle of wine on the dresser.
Besides spending time with our family, we also walked through the Logan Circle neighborhood and explored the historic Blagden Alley area where we enjoyed coffee and pastry at La Colombe.
We had total privacy in the bedroom suite, and our accommodations were first rate. We highly recommend staying here. Bob and Betsy are great hosts, and we really enjoyed our stay.
When I arrived at the place Robert was waiting for me. He helped me with my luggage and showed me the suit, which is exactly as described in the listing. I had a very nice stay and I just regret I did not have the time to enjoy the awesome Jacuzzi tub. I would really recommend this place.
Bob and Betsy were amazing hosts. Bob met me at check-in to show me the massive suite (bedroom, bath, sitting area). Bob had chilled water and wine! I was given a list of the best restaurants around too!
The listing really doesn't do this place justice, it is amazing! Jacuzzi tub! Really fast internet! Great location! I stayed for a conference and the place is so centrally located, I was really impressed. There is an iron and ironing board too, which was a really nice bonus.
I would highly recommend staying here.
We were extremely pleased with Robert and his Rowhouse. It was very safe and conveniently located. He met us at check-in with two sets of keys and Metro Smartcards. The location and neighborhood were perfect and the pictures don't do justice to Robert's place. We had easy access to buses to get across all of dc and metro was station being only a few blocks away. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Robert was an ideal host. Unobtrusive, but always available for excellent advice. The locality is ideal for downtown DC, which is a short walk or bus-ride from right outside the house.
Very nice welcome from Robert, he made us feel at home straight away and the fact of living in his place is not a problem at all.
The location is perfect and there are lots of local bars and restaurants.
Bob was a fantastic host, and the location was ideal for a quick weekend in the city. The little restaurant across the street (where the locals hang) was also one of our favorite stops. We had great privacy, and the character of their place was really lovely. A+
