  • Dana's apartment is lovely, comfortable, clean and bright. My family and I felt so at-home and really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us, being close to the subway, a nice park (with dog run!), and shops and restaurants. Dana was super friendly, helpful and responsive. The one tiny issue we had (internet got turned off) was resolved via text in about 15 minutes, at 11:00 pm! She could not have been a better host! The apartment has a great kitchen for cooking in, and a sweet bathroom equipped with a fantastic jacuzzi tub - such a rare treat. We would definitely stay there again, and would highly recommend Dana's place to others!

  • Hi there my partner and I stayed at Dana's for the Christmas week 2013. After a 26 flight from Australia we were desperate to get settled. Because we cleared custom early we arrived earlier than expected so no one knew we were there. Dana was out of town and had arranged Angie from the adjacent appartment to welcome us. Anyhow after 5 min of buzzing all the intercom buttons we got onto Angie and everything was fine. Its always a hassle the first couple of hours in a new country and we hadn't organised a US Sim Card yet. Angie was more than welcoming and we settled quickly. The apartment was just as we imagined and to us it was our home. The bed is very very comfortable and the bath a welcome relief after hours of trudging around Manhattan. We used to walk down to Bedford/Nostrand on the G Line which was a 3 block pleasant stroll but the G Line is pretty useless to get to Manhattan so you have to change trains and get the F. All of this takes time which wasnt a bother in the mornings. In the evenings we caught a cab back which was around $20 but be warned none of the cab drivers know where De Kalb Av Brooklyn is so have enough charge on your smart phone to show them. Or better still just tell them Williamburg Bridge onto Broadway then turn right into De Kalb after a while. We couldnt get the TV to work so watched a DVD that is supplied but who travels halfway around the world to watch TV anyhow. All in all a great place to stay. Sorry we didnt get to meet Dana but maybe next time. Get out and enjoy NYC peeps its got a lot to offer.

  • Dana's apartment is very nice and we enjoyed our stay a lot. It is modern, well-equipped and quiet. Definitely an excellent option if you decide not to stay in Manhattan. The neighbourhood is safe, rather quiet, it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the closest G-line stop (Bedford/Nostrand). Dana was very easy to communicate with and though we did not meet her in person, we had a very warm welcome by a friend who waited for us when we arrived. I would recommend Dana's place, especially for longer stays.

  • We stay in the Dana's place two time during our holidays, always was amazing and Dana has been very helpful in many ways and easy communicate with. The apartment is lovely and cozy, your feel like at home, you have always that you need with the appliances, pots and cooking things and the place was clean. It takes about 30 minutes to Manhattan, the subway line G is about to 5 minutes walking and you have a stop bus near to the door that it´s perfect to go Front Green Park area and Fulton square. It's a great location i you want to explore Brooklyn. We were really had a good time there and I highly recommend it the place and Dana as an host. By the other hand this was our first experience with airbnb and it has been very positive.

  • We stayed for more than two weeks and we had everything we needed: a lot of space, everything to cook, a beautiful living with a big sofa, books and tv. The bedroom has a very good mattress, spacious closets and air conditioning.
Dana was very kind every time we asked for her help. So, its a modern, very comfortable apartment, perfect for two and also three people.
The neighborhood is very quiet. The only thing to say is that you have a considerable time to get to Manhattan. But if you have time and you are not anxious, its more than acceptable.

  • Dana's flat is lovely, spacious and very well equiped!! Very friendly neighbourhood and great location to explore Brooklyn. Dana was very contactable. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend her flat.

  • Dana's place was as charmingly decorated as the images on her site. It was a very peaceful getaway and quite comfortable for two people. I highly recommend it especially if you want to stay further away from Manhattan.

Dana was great at communicating and making sure everything was just right.

I enjoyed that her place was very well stocked with appliances, utensils and pots and pans which made it easy to prepare meals and even bake a cake! The availability of cable/satellite TV and the internet made the stay even more convenient.

The subway stops were quite close and made it easy to get into Manhattan at any time.

The only thing that was distracting from an otherwise perfect setting was that the air system for cooling was very loud, as has been mentioned before and I don't think there is anything that can be done about that.

I would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to friends!

  • Me and my parents spent a week in Dana's apartment in New York. We had a great time in the apartment and it had everything we needed. The neighbors are very nice and helpful and the building is overall very quiet and a pleasure to come home to after a long day in the city. The neighborhood is very friendly and the subway is only a short walk away. It takes about 20-30 minutes to Manhattan depending on where you are going. The only downside of our stay was the lack of cleaning in the apartment. There was quite a lot of dust underneath the bed, couch, and in the windows. With a thourough cleaning this place is the perfect apartment to discover NYC from. Dana is a very responsive and helpful host and I can only recommend staying at her apartment when visiting the big apple.

About
I am an avid reader and writer who enjoys good food, movies, conversation and good wine. With that in mind, New York is one of the best places to be. I believe that one should love thyself and having a simple, clean space adheres to that. I love being in a city where I can pursue all of my interests and still come home to retreat. As a host, I'd like to share my lifestyle with you.
