We met some friends from San Francisco for a 10-day holiday in Roquefort les Pins and all loved our relaxing stay. Marie-Noelle and her husband were excellent hosts, very friendly and helpful. They live close to the house, but didn’t hover and there’s lots of privacy. When we arrived, Marie-Noelle gave us a thorough tour and left us some fresh figs (likely from the garden tree!) and a bottle of wine.
The house was immaculately clean, comfortable, and the furnishings simple and attractive. The kitchen is well equipped for a rental. A folding baby crib was provided upon request. The terraced garden is large, full of trees and herbs and little corners to lie out a blanket and curl up with a book. The covered patio off the kitchen is convenient, cozy, and has a nice view at sunset. We made good use of the bbq and spent some lovely nights chatting, eating, and playing cards there.
Within 30 minutes of the house, there are lots of great places to visit: Antibes, Gourdon, Vallauris etc. Valbonne, a charming medieval village, is only 10 mins away and has several restaurants and a bustling Friday morning market. Roquefort les pins itself is very small, but there’s a great bakery and two fine epiceries, as well as a larger supermarket, all very convenient and only 5 mins in the car. Wifi is spotty, but hey, sometimes it’s good to be off the grid!
We highly recommend staying here!
