Interaction with Guests
Roberto, or occasionally a trusted person, will give the keys and give all the information on the apartment and about the district
The apartment is located in the old part of Trastevere. Trastevere is rione XIII of Rome, on the west bank of the Tiber, south of Vatican City. Its name comes from the Latin trans Tiberim, meaning literally "beyond the Tiber".
Nowadays, Trastevere maintains its character thanks to its narrow cobbled streets lined by medieval houses. At night, both natives and tourists alike flock to its many pubs and restaurants. However, much of the original character of Trastevere remains.
Today, Trastevere still maintains its character thanks to the winding streets covered with cobblestones which is overlooked by medieval houses. The night is filled with people, both Italian and foreign, thanks to the wealth of restaurants and pubs for every price range.
It is one of the most lively, characteristic and self-sufficient city. It offers typical Roman restaurants and pizzerias as well as cinemas, markets (San Cosimato renovated just recently), banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, shops of every kind and elegant shops"The area is also home to John Cabot University, a private American University, the American Academy in Rome, and the Rome campus of the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, the Canadian University of Waterloo School of Architecture (between the months of September and December), and the American Pratt Institute School of Architecture therefore serving as home to an international student body.
The unique character of this neighborhood has attracted artists, foreign expats, and many famous people.

We had the most wonderful few days in Rome, the apartment was idyllic, the perfect bolt hole after long days exploring the city. Trastevere is an excellent area, vibrant with a huge amount going on, whilst the location of the apartment, whilst central provided a quiet and private escape. The photos on the site give a very good sense of the space - we found it absolutely charming. Roberto was a superb host from the warm greeting on arrival to endless insider tips of where to eat and what to do. Take his advice!! He knows some brilliant spots, many just off the main tourist routes but all the better for an authentic Roman experience. The bakery in Campo do Fiori he recommends was our absolute favourite! All in all the best holiday we've had in a long time, huge thanks to Roberto for being a brilliant host. We look forward to sharing your details with friends and family and returning in the near future!
Roberto's quaint cottage was the perfect base for our explorations throughout Rome, and we're already scheming to return. Trastevere quickly became our favorite neighborhood, and Roberto's recommendations for restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores made us feel like locals. Roberto met us in person, showed us around the cottage and a bit of the area, and gave us all the information we needed for a great stay. I can't say enough good things about Roberto or the cottage—stay here!
Roberto really took his time to explain us about the neighbourhood, were to eat, were to have a good coffee, ect. This gave us a very welcome feeling. The apartment is small but very charming and close to all the highlights you visit Rome for. Details like the Italian coffee maker and the many books about Rome standing in the bookshelf give that extra Italian touch ;-). I definitely come back to this apartment next time.
We couldn't have found a better place in Rome to stay than The Tratesvere Cottage. The neighborhood was great with lots going on, but the apartment is quiet and secluded. We were a family of four and although the cottage is small we had plenty of space. Roberto was so nice and helpful. The check in process was very smooth and he was happy to share lots of information about the neighborhood and Rome in general. He even arranged for a taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport when we checked out. I would HIGHLY recommend staying at the Cottage if should be so lucky as to find yourself visiting Rome.
What a fantastic spot! We were looked after so well by Roberto. He gave us local info and useful tips which all proved to be useful. The local restaurants and food were amazing! The cottage was a delight and we look forward to visiting again. Five Stars all round.
Thank you Roberto for being such a wonderful and helpful host! We totally loved this gorgeous cottage, and had great time in Rome! We actually spotted lots of lovely local bars, restaurants, pizzerias around by accident, and had the best pizza in Rome! We will definitely recommend this little gem to all our friends who are coming to Rome! Many thanks from Ruby and family :)
