It is definetely the right place you can enjoy after a day visiting Rome and share for a pleasant stay with your family or your friends.
The apartment is located in the old part of Trastevere. Trastevere is rione XIII of Rome, on the west bank of the Tiber, south of Vatican City. Its name comes from the Latin trans Tiberim, meaning literally "beyond the Tiber".
Nowadays, Trastevere maintains its character thanks to its narrow cobbled streets lined by medieval houses. At night, both natives and tourists alike flock to its many pubs and restaurants. However, much of the original character of Trastevere remains.
Today, Trastevere still maintains its character thanks to the winding streets covered with cobblestones which is overlooked by medieval houses. The night is filled with people, both Italian and foreign, thanks to the wealth of restaurants and pubs for every price range.
It is one of the most lively, characteristic and self-sufficient city. It offers typical Roman restaurants and pizzerias as well as cinemas, markets (San Cosimato renovated just recently), banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, shops of every kind and elegant shops"The area is also home to John Cabot University, a private American University, the American Academy in Rome, and the Rome campus of the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, the Canadian University of Waterloo School of Architecture (between the months of September and December), and the American Pratt Institute School of Architecture therefore serving as home to an international student body.
The unique character of this neighborhood has attracted artists, foreign expats, and many famous people.

We had a very lovely stay at the Trastevere Cottage and Laura and Roberto took good care of us. It is a sweet little place in a good location and we can definitely recommend staying here.
Cosy and nice apartement in a quiet but still central neighbourhood in Trastevere. There are plenty of shops and a daily local food market around, handy if you want to prepare your own meals.
The apartment was very clean - i.e. no smells from the sewer as in some other locations.
Roberto is a very helpful host, he gave us plenty of hints about the whereabouts of his favorite shops and food.
Roberto was an amazing host, very available, always friendly. The apartment was amazing, ideally located and full of charm, you cannot find a more typical and romantic location for a Roman experience.
Roberto was kind enough to send us a mini guide of Rome with all the practical information and even restaurant advice !
Don't hesitate before booking this place you won't regret it !!
We really loved our stay in Roberto's house! It's clean and very quiet, we slept very well without the rumour of the city. To live for a week in the neighbourhood of Trastevere is a nice experience: I think we can imagine to live there for a long time! Roberto has made a book full of useful advices and there are a lot of books and guides concerning Rome (in English and Italian). We are sure we will come back there!
We had a wonderful experience staying at Roberto's Trastevere Cottage, it was soooo hard to leave! Roberto was extremely helpful with everything, checkin was smooth and easy. The place was immaculate when we arrived - clean and fresh. Roberto did a great job decorating the cottage - very homey, cute and comfortable. Thanks for having us, Roberto! We will definitely stay at your cottage when we return to Rome.
The cottage in Trastevere is great and is located in a beautiful neighborhood. It's compact and has anything you want or need for a perfect vacation. It's designed very well, cozy and clean, which makes the stay there very pleasant. Roberto is the best host one could ask for. In the cottage is a book which contains any information you might need about the house, restaurants nearby and anything else you might want to know about the area. Any request or question directed at Roberto was answered immediately via Email. A note to a group more than two, I think the cottage might be a bit crowded, even though it is advertised as being able to hold four people.
Roberto's Trastevere Cottage is the perfect place to stay if you want easy access to Rome's major attractions, numerous restaurants within walking distance, and a quiet night's sleep.
This cosy apartment is located a short walk from Tram 8, which runs every 15 minutes, and takes you straight to Piazza Venezia ; a central point point where you can walk to the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish steps. From the apartment itself, we walked directly to Vatican City (40 minutes at a leisurely pace) through a beautiful park that overlooked the city.
Within Trastevere itself, Piazza Santa Maria is a five minute walk from the apartment and has lots of restaurants, pubs, and shopping. We were able to find a grocery store, pharmacy, ATM, and fruit market; everything you need right there. Roberto keeps a well stocked kitchen so you can stock up if you want to dine in.
Ratings can be subjective; however, I found the bed to be comfortable and the environment quiet. Perfect end to a busy day sightseeing in Rome. Would visit Trastevere Cottages again.
My husband, 13-year-old son, and I spent 5 days in July at Roberto's Trastevere Cottage and loved it! The cottage is exceptionally well designed and functional...it was perfect for our family of three. We spent our days walking EVERYWHERE--to the Vatican, the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Spanish Steps--and then would retreat from the hot summertime hustle and bustle of the city to our little cottage, which was always a cool and quiet refuge. We spent many happy hours just sitting on the outside patio, sipping wine, playing cards, and practicing the art of doing nothing. There were so many lovely restaurants and cafes within minutes of our doorstep, we had great meals nearby every night and felt we were just scratching the surface of what was available to us. Roberto was very helpful and always ready to assist with anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a very clean and quiet little spot in the heart of Trastevere, which is a rarity. It had everything we needed for a short (2 night) stay, though the interior is smaller than we expected from the pictures. That was not a problem for us at all, but worth mentioning in case you are planning to go with more than 2 people. Overall, a great spot to stay while in Rome!
