Description

Quaint Cottage, 35 square meters, with 12 square meters garden / court

Quaint and bright cottage about 35 sm, 5 minutes walking from Santa Maria in Trastevere.
Recently restored. Double entrance and a pleasant independent court with access from an internal area of a quiet garden placed on top of a hill.
Downstairs you have a nice living room (english antique furniture, double sofa, TV, wi-fi) a bright kitchen (with gas cookers, electric oven, refrigerator and washing machine) and a bathroom with shower cabin.
Upstairs you have the bed and the closet. The cottage can host up to 4 people. For info
The cottage is placed in the most characteristic part of Trastevere where you can find the most typical shops and restaurants.
Although is located 5 minutes walking from Santa Maria in Trastevere (which is in the trendy and crowded center of the district), next to the convenient shops and restaurants, the cottage is located in a calm and quiet area as the countryside.
It is placed on a hill which is linked to the street by a flight of 50 comfortable easy steps (height 15 cm each).
It is definetely the right place you can enjoy after a day visiting Rome and share for a pleasant stay with your family or your friends.

Guests will have access to the cottage from an internal courtyard located on top of a little hill.

Roberto, or occasionally a trusted person, will give the keys and give all the information on the apartment and about the district

The apartment is located in the old part of Trastevere. Trastevere is rione XIII of Rome, on the west bank of the Tiber, south of Vatican City. Its name comes from the Latin trans Tiberim, meaning literally "beyond the Tiber".
Nowadays, Trastevere maintains its character thanks to its narrow cobbled streets lined by medieval houses. At night, both natives and tourists alike flock to its many pubs and restaurants. However, much of the original character of Trastevere remains.

Today, Trastevere still maintains its character thanks to the winding streets covered with cobblestones which is overlooked by medieval houses. The night is filled with people, both Italian and foreign, thanks to the wealth of restaurants and pubs for every price range.
It is one of the most lively, characteristic and self-sufficient city. It offers typical Roman restaurants and pizzerias as well as cinemas, markets (San Cosimato renovated just recently), banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, shops of every kind and elegant shops"The area is also home to John Cabot University, a private American University, the American Academy in Rome, and the Rome campus of the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, the Canadian University of Waterloo School of Architecture (between the months of September and December), and the American Pratt Institute School of Architecture therefore serving as home to an international student body.
The unique character of this neighborhood has attracted artists, foreign expats, and many famous people.

The place is very quiet and away from any noise although placed in the very central part of Trastevere

Trastevere cottage is in an idyllic location in its own private and picturesque world but close to all the activity of its vibrant neighborhood. The apartment is perhaps a tad smaller than it appears in the photos but perfectly suited to two people (which we were). This is especially true given the expansive adjoining outdoor areas. The smell of jasmine in bloom adds to the atmosphere. The apartment is ingeniously and tastefully decorated. Roberto is extremely helpful, speaks perfect English, and is willing to make all sorts of suggestions to enhance the stay. Our only slight snag was that the wifi was broken throughout our two night stay, Easter weekend. This was not Roberto s fault, it had just gone out of service and it was a holiday weekend, and Roberto was extremely accommodating at helping us find cafes with wifi and also helping us with requests such as making reservations and helping us figure transportation to our next destination when we requested. That said, we had really been counting on wifi for our first days in Rome, we had left most planning til then, and it was unfortunate to have to rely on restaurant wifi (a time we would rather enjoy our food and company and relax) or to forward requests to our host. We would not have booked a spot without wifi. A small gesture from the host to compensate.....a bottle of wine or breakfast pastries or something just to say "Sorry not to have something that was supposed to be part of your stay" would have gone a long way. Maybe that's an American mentality. Anyway, Roberto was overall a wonderful host and I expect that snag to be an exception that would be unlikely to impact anyone else's stay. It is a great spot and we would return!

Roberto is a gracious and extremely helpful host. The cottage is charming, quiet, and safely secured, yet just a very quick walk to all of the neighborhood amenities, great restaurants, and public market.

Roberto's place is centrally located and quiet at night. Roberto is a fantastic host who gave lots of great tips to explore Rome, and he was more than flexible with helping to store our luggage after checking out. Last but not least: the place is spiffy clean :) Recommended!

A wonderfully clean and comfortable apartment within walking distance of all the major sights and yet incredibly quiet. There are great restaurants in Trastevere minutes away from the apartment. We had superb weather but the nights were still cold so the central heating was really welcome as was the plentiful hot water. Roberto is a truly fabulous host, giving you masses of information beforehand and an incredibly warm welcome on arrival. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect place to stay on this our first visit to Rome. Mille grazie Roberto.

Robert's place is just as the photos show. It is clean and quiet and has everything you might need. It is a well designed small space perfect for a couple or single. The shower is good. Bed comfortable. Pillows were too firm for my taste. Shower is nice. Lovely place! Many steps to get to it so don't bring heavy luggage.
