Interaction with Guests
I love meeting guests and sharing stories...providing you insider information on all the wonderful things San Francisco has to offer...but I also respect your privacy.
Charming and safe neighborhood central to anywhere in the city. Twenty minute bus ride to all tourist sites and the buses run all night to this neighborhood. 24th Street is the neighborhoods main street with lots of great 4 star restaurants, cafes, clothing boutiques, a Whole Foods organic grocery and artisan shops. The neighborhood is very colorful, filled with classic painted victorians and a diverse population. Noe Valley is one of San Francisco's most popular neighborhoods bordering the Castro and the Mission. Great walks, parks, views, (email hidden)n't find a better neighborhood.
Conveniently located to multiple bus lines that get you downtown within 20 minutes. The #24, # 35, #48 and J Church line are all closely. The F, K, L, M lines are a short walk or 5 minute bus ride. Street parking is easily accessible, a rarity for San Francisco. To get from the airport you can take BART to 24th Street and then take the #48 bus for 10 minutes to Castro Street. Daria may also be available to pick you up from the airport for $35 charge (cheaper than any car or taxi service). Let me know if you want to contact her.

Judith's house is just as lovely & colourful as the photos show it to be and, as others have already said, located in a nice, friendly neighbourhood. We especially loved the bus ride up the hill to Castro, then the F tram all the way down Market to the wharf; it's a great opportunity to orient yourself within the city & get a feel for the bigger picture. If you walk down Noe Valley a little and pick up the J line, at the point it loops away from Church Street for a bit you get a fabulous view across to downtown & the bay - has to be one of the best vistas in the city!
We particularly appreciated Judith's friendly & easygoing hospitality which enabled us to feel right at home; the file of useful info she has compiled is very helpful & informative too. We didn't get to meet Daria, but she sorted us out with a ride in from the airport from a friend who we greatly enjoyed meeting (many thanks again to Reese!), and which took away the stress of finding our own way into the city after a long transatlantic flight.
Couple of extra recommendations to add to Judith's: Foreign Cinema on Mission Street is, as the name suggests, a converted movie theatre now run by a husband & wife team serving fantastic modern Californian cooking - it was our favourite meal of our 4-day stay. And to anyone planning a trip to the city, recommend you read Cool Gray City of Love by Gary Kamiya, long-term resident. Beautifully written, it will help you discover hidden corners you might not otherwise find.
Thanks Judith, we loved our stay with you!
Judith house is absolutely stunning and she really made us feel at home. The area is great and conveniently located near public transport links and the very lively Castro and Mission areas.
Will definitely go back there next time I'm in San Francisco.
My husband and I loved our stay at your place! The house is beautiful and located in a very nice area. Our room was very comfortable and we absolutely loved spending time with Daria, our an extraordinary host (applause, applause!). Too bad we did not have the chance to meet Judith, but we certainly fell in love with her cat squishy!
We had a wonderful stay in Judith's home. We did not have an opportunity to meet Judith, but Daria was an excellent host! The entire house is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. The description of this listing is very accurate. We loved chatting with Daria and she kindly recommended various places to visit in the area. The neighborhood was safe and had plenty of fun shops, restaurants, and activities to explore. We would certainly recommend staying here! Thank you Judith and Daria! -Jess and Lauren
Staying at Judith's place was wonderful. Although Judith was only around for 2 days, it was very nice to meet her and get tips and help regarding where to go in San Francisco and regarding taking a Greyhound bus to L.A. (with permission, we even managed to print the tickets at the house). Daria was also a wonderful host while Judith wasn't around. Always feisty and funny, she was really fun to be with.
Location: Admittedly, the location is not downtown. But it's in a nice neighborhood around Noe Valley and Castro (a lot of things are available: Walgreens, bakery, restaurants, and a bit farther in Church street is Spin City, a coffee shop/coin-operated laundromat which we used). A 5-10 minutes walk will get you to the buses that takes you downtown and to scenic locations. Public transportation in SF is quite manageable and can get you almost anywhere, just get yourself a good SF Travel Map w/ all the transport routes and you're set.
Room/House: Judith's house is very beautiful and cozy. The room was colorful, and nice. Sharing the bathroom wasn't a problem. For all to note: they have a sociable cat, Squishy, and the fur does get in some places, even though the cat is not always indoors, so if you're allergic or don't have an affinity for cats, beware.
Getting here: If you're new to San Francisco and have lots of baggage, I would suggest taking up the offer of hitching with Daria from the airport to the house. It's convenient, and you wouldn't have to bother searching for the house. We also got a ride to the Greyhound bus station for $10, after our checkout, and that was really nice of Daria to make time to drop us off. Especially since we had a lot of luggage, so public transport was not possible.
My mom and I stayed 3 nights at Judith's house in SF. We didn't meet ver, but Daria was at home and was lovely. When we got there our room was not ready for us and another guest was sleepping there. So we talked and he helped us trying to find clean linen and he moved to another room. Besides that our stay was perfect. The house is cute and clean and the neighborhood is beautiful. Thanks, Judith and Daria!

About the Host, Judith
While I'm originally from NYC, I have lived in San Francisco for over 35 years. I know this City intimately and would love to share its secrets and quirkiness with you.
I work full time in public healthcare for people who are poor and homeless. I've been extremely lucky to have worked most of my career in jobs that are meaningful and dedicated to helping the underserved. I've also had a diversity of jobs...from the first woman to help re-build San Francisco's cable cars, to working with Mayors..i can share lots of insider stories.
However, my true love is painting. The house is filled with my paintings and reflects how much I love color. And music, my partner is a musician ...feel free to play the piano in our living room.
I am blessed to have raised two amazing children now in their 20's and have just been overjoyed by the arrival of my grandson--all the greatest gifts I have ever been graced with.
I'm a fellow world wide traveler and have used airbnb on my own travels so I am sensitive to that delicate balance between giving you your privacy and providing a warm host experience.
I love great food (and can share with you all the best and unknown places to eat), cooking, yoga, art, historical novels, friendship, movies and good conversation.
I love hosting on AirBnB and have met incredible people from all over the world. I"m committed to making your stay in San Francisco memorable so please let me know how I can help you while you are here.
