  • Jean-Marc's home was built before the French Revolution, so you can imagine the wonderful character it has. Jean-Marc has created a separate living space for renters and has done extensive renovations to the building. The gardens are wonderful and would be especially so during spring and summer when the flowers are in full bloom. The residence is located just outside of the built-up area of Arles, but is close enough to have easy access to the city centre. A car is really necessary if you choose to stay in this location. My wife and I truly enjoyed our chats with Jean-Marc (and his mother), as we learned about the region and French life/culture. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and we recommend Jean-Marc's residence to you if you are seeking a French countryside locale.

  • We had an excellent stay with Jean-Marc. He is a friendly, reliable, pleasant host. His home is roomy and comfortable. It is located just outside of Arles, which was perfect for us because it is very quiet and we had a car. It might not be suitable for visitors who planned to use the bus or wanted to walk to Arles because there does not appear any bus service and it is several miles to Arles.

The house is clean. It is old but reasonably well maintained. The house rules are simple and easy to abide by. He has a good supply of brochures for Arles and the surrounding area. We followed his recommendations for the restaurants on rue du Docteur Fanton and wound up eating at a different restaurant for 3 nights. As he said, they were all good.

He also gave us helpful advice on parking for the Arles in Black photography exhibition.

The house reflects his bachelor status. He has minimal food items but there is coffee available. He does laundry with advance notice and there is a clothes line outside. It's breezy so things dried quickly.

He was very accommodating to our request to leave our bags even though he was working that day. Thanks heavens, the timing worked out for both of us.

    We would definitely go back.

  • We had a wonderful time at Jean-Marc's place!

The house is cute and veeery special: far enough from Arles to completely disconnect of the town / "uban" life, but close enough to go there for shopping, walking around, having dinner...

Jean-Marc is, indeed, a very nice and easy going host, which will help you enjoy the region with any kind of tips.

Oh, and don't miss the chance to have a coffee with her mother when she passes by to feed the cats .-)

A lovely stay, we'll try to come back, sure.

  • We had a great time at Jean-Marc' s Provencial house and garden. There we enjoyed the countryside close to Arles (about 10 minutes by car to the city centre). The romantic garden with fishpond, fruit trees, several herbs, a hammock, deck chairs, and barbecuing area were well kept and relaxing. Even a swing for the children was installed. The rooms were really clean and the kitchen very functional, stove including oven, modern coffee machine. Jean-Marc is a very friendly host, who shares his music, coffee and liqueur. He was helpful with information about the city and region.
