We absolutely loved staying with Enrico and Roberta! They were the most gracious and welcoming hosts. The house is their family's country house and we felt like family while we were there. When we arrived they had prepared a huge folder for us with maps of Saluzzo's historic center (and restaurants circled for us) and other information on the local festivals and tourist attractions in the nearby towns. They also went out of their way to extend their hospitality and make us feel comfortable.
The bedroom was equipped with plenty of storage space and a very comfortable bed. We also had our own bathroom which gave us a bit of extra privacy. The only thing to keep in mind is that in the country the hot water doesn't last forever, but if you've travelled in Europe before you're used to this. We never had any problems.
The location of the house is ideal. Situated amongst an apple and peach orchard with a wonderful view of the mountains, you can't help but relax. The house is 5 minutes from downtown Saluzzo and within driving distance of the idyllic wine villages of Alba and Barollo. You're also only an hour from Turin, so if you want to visit the big city you can do so easily.
If you're going to be travelling in Piedmont, you absolutely must stay with Enrico. We wish we could have spent more time there and hopefully we can go back again soon!
