Soak up the view during your stay.
Experience the novelty and delight of rural living in a charming log cabin on a hill in the forest. Nicknamed “Schitt’s Cabin” because of the charm and Schitt’s Creek references, “The Cabin” is your favorite cabin away from home.

As in Episode 5, Season 1 of Schitt’s Creek, you’ll be surprised in more ways than one by our charm and you’ll have the entire place to yourself— inside and out! The cabin is nestled on 6 acres of forests and sits remote atop a hill.

Cell phone signal here is spotty.

The space
This is a cabin surrounded by forest in rural Indiana. The drive there is quite lovely in places but-not-so-lovely in others with some of the rural Americana lifestyles you will encounter on the way. The cabin is removed from that but you will see it on the drive there.

The bedrooms are both on the top floor up a natural, wooden staircase which has a gate to latch at the top and bottom. The master bedroom (queen) is open to the staircase like a like a loft but has a gate to latch, if needed. The upstairs bathroom is connected to this room and the second bedroom is a curtained off room of 4 bunkbeds ( one full and 3 twin), a washer and dryer, and a dresser.

The cabinet at the top of the stairs has games and cards. Cell service is just strong enough to make a call when you stand outside.

The cabin itself sits on top of a hill with a gravel driveway. If you have AWD it is a breeze, if not you may want to park at the bottom of the drive or get a running start to make it over the first hill.

Guest access
Guests are allowed to access all areas on the property which is also welcome to 4-wheelers and ATVS if you'd like you bring yours at your discretion.

Other things to note
The cabin sits on 6 acres of lush forest and has an open yard with a bonfire pit, a picnic table, and a swingset. A walk down the yard a bit gives sight to a Greenhouse (no heating or air) for privacy, a wooden tee-pee, and a large tree swing. At the bottom of the hill sits a wooden bridge and a little frog pond. There are trails through the forest and a creek and park that are a short walk away through the town.

Neighborhood highlights

The neighborhood is quite curious, the drive to the cabin drives through lovely forests and hideous rural Americana.

There is a place within the Southern Indiana rolling hills that’s called “Limestone Country” because of the stone terrain found there. It is the home of a special outdoor playground of caves, forests, rivers, Bluespring Caverns, Spring Mill State Park and the communities of Bedford and Mitchell. I'm a mom, artist, designer and writer living in a four square house from the 1912's in Midtown, Indianapolis. My husband is a contemporary realism painter. We love traveling, good food and animals! We have kids half the time so our life goes from quiet and luxurious to chaotic and exciting each week. We have only rented our room prior to people as a by month/year studio apartment however upon hosting out of country guests short term we are now excited to open our doors for Airbnb! Let me know how we can make your stay more enjoyable.
