The Space

Hello! My name is Fabrizio, i live in a flat in Rome in the residential quarter Portuense. Perhaps you are planning your holidays. Have you thought of spending a few days in Rome? Would you like to enjoy the beauties of the everlasting town? I have something that will suit you: my house!

It is situated in a compound surrounded by the green natural reserve of the "Valle dei Casali". Even if it is not far from the centre of the town, here you can feel to be living out of the city. It is noiseless, you can experience the best relax after a sightseeing day around museums and monuments. You will be awaken by the chirping of birds. The apartment is at the third floor with a lift. It is composed of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living-room and a kitchen. The furniture is essential and of good taste.

The bedroom where you are going to stay are supplied with a double divan-bed (new), a wardrobe, a night-table and a desk. There are also a lot of compact-discs, you are allowed to listen to them. The room is provided with a private bathroom.

A roomy kitchen is completely available: there is a 4 fires stove, an eletric oven and a microwave, a kettle and a dishwasher, there is a table for the meals, everything you need for your cooking is at your disposal: crockery, cutlery, oil, sugar, butter, etc. You can also prepare a good coffee or a tea.

In the main bathroom you'll find a washing-machine you could use, in my presence; in your room you'll find all towels, sheets and blankets for your necessities and obviously soap and toilet paper; both (towels and sheets) will be changed twice a week.

The best means of transport to reach the street where i live is the car: there is a large parking-car available to you. If you have no car, shops for all necessities, bus-stops to reach the town-centre and those to reach the Metro are at ten minutes on foot.
If I'm free from work (luckily I have much free time), during your staying I can give you a lift to/from the nearest Metro station or to/from number 8 tram (no additional cost). Also at your arrival or your departure, in exchange for a small reimbursement for petrol, i shall be able to catch you or bring you at Fiumicino airport or at Ciampino airport.
At your arrival you'll (email hidden) of Rome at your disposal and useful information about the means of transport.

My house is not far from Villa Pamphili one of the most beautiful and large park in Rome; Porta Portese the very famous second-hands objects market (clothes, furniture, etc); Viale Marconi and Viale dei Colli Portuensi are two streets useful for your shopping; Viale Trastevere, where you will find many typical restaurants and many local and where it is very pleasant to walk during the summer evenings.

If you need to control your E-mail and look for Internet information a network Wi-Fi is available.
In your room there is a portable air conditioner with water function; anyway, since the room facing east, is affected by the sun only in the morning and because the flat is surrounded by a lot of green and it is always cool.
I can speak a little English and a little French. During your staying i'll be in Rome, i will do my best to let you enjoy your holidays and satisfy all your needs.

  • I had the distinct pleasure of staying with Fabrizio! His listing is the hidden gem on Airbnb and I would HIGHLY recommend staying with him when you are visiting Rome. First, he offers a very cheap ride to and from the airport, (more than half cheaper than a taxi) and he gives free rides to the metro, so you can access the city.

But, the most impressive to me was that he was my private tour guide to historical Rome over several days, (for free!!!!) and he showed me things that the walking tour and hop-on/hop-off bus neglected to mention!

I enjoyed most of my evening meals with Fabrizio; either him cooking authentic Italian meals at home or when we went out to eat.

Fabrizio is the most gracious person that I have met on Airbnb! He went out of his way to think of my every need - I felt that I was royalty. He was always willing to make my stay extremely enjoyable.

While Fabrizio's apartment is not in the city centre, not to worry - he will drop you off at the metro and a couple of stops later you are in the heart of Rome.

I can't say enough good things to say about Fabrizio!!! I HIGHLY recommend his apartment.

  • Fabrizio's flat was cosy and had a great view of a park. It is not far from the city center but he was very kind enough to drive me to and from the station and other places when he could. A very kind and helpful host. Grazie mille per avermi insegnato Italiano and showing me the best of Roma!

  • My stay in Rome was amazing, largely because of Fabrizio’s wonderful hospitality. I had only two full days there, and thanks to Fabrizio, I got to see many of the most important sites because he accompanied me (email hidden) around the city. I never expected this (as it’s not part of the arrangement), but he was so kind and hospitable and drove me into Rome’s city center and took me on a wonderful historic tour of the major sites. It was unbelievably kind of him and I appreciated it so very much – as he spent an extraordinary amount of his own time to show me the city. When one is visiting another country as a tourist, there is nothing better than having a local to show you around and point out things which only locals know. I had a wonderful time and am most grateful to Fabrizio - - it was because of him that my stay in Rome was so memorable. Moreover, his place was such a lovely retreat. It was exceptionally clean and neat and peaceful and I was very comfortable there. I felt at home. He even shared delicious pasta with me the first night I arrived. I couldn’t have asked for a better host.

  • It was a wonderful experience staying at Fabrizio's apartment! Everything was exactly as given in the description and needless to say it was a smooth stay. Fabrizio is very welcoming, helpful and a great host! We miss our little chats that we had whether we sat down casually or when Fabrizio would pick or drop us somewhere (really it is amazingly nice of him to offer that!)

We'd like to add he makes sure you experience the best in Rome (the table in our room had all the helpful maps, instructions and best tourist guides!). Also he suggests great restaurants, gelaterias and even less visited yet marvellous places!

Rome is a great city and we are definitely going to opt for Fabrizio's place when we visit again! Thanks again Fabrizio!

  • Fabrizio is a very hospitable and polite person. The apartment was spacious and fully equipped, and, although quite far from the city centre (but in a nice residential area), Fabrizio was kindly offering pick-ups to/from the metro station. The room was big, clean and quiet, and having a private bathroom was very practical. Overall, this was a very good first Airbnb experience!

  • This flat is truly Rome. Located in a fully local Roman neighborhood with no tourists around. Although its somewhat far from the center of Rome with all the attractions, Fabrizio was kind enough to drive me to and from the metro or tram stops everyday. Great place to get the full experience of Rome and Italy.

  • Fabrizio was an excellent host. We arrived on a late night flight from Paris and he was there right on time to pick us up from the airport. He also dropped us directly to the metro station every morning and had maps available and a lot of helpful tips. The place was nicely decorated and having a private bath in the room was a big plus. We will miss our daily chats over dinner in which he would share his home cooked meals and us our restaurant bought dinners. It is a little far to walk anywhere from his location, but his free transportation to metro made up for this.

My name is Fabrizio, I was born in Rome and I am 44 years old. I'm a private person, polite, helpful. I like to put my guests at ease and try to meet their needs, be they old friends or new acquaintances. I think that to have a pleasant living is necessary, a fair balance between the moments of sharing common spaces and experiences, and moments of privacy. I have a musical education, I studied piano at the conservatory and I'm now mostly music. But I also have many other interests, such as sports, photography, and recently my passion is the tango. I love traveling and I hope that this site will give me new opportunities to do so and to meet new interesting people. Hello and see you soon.
