FOR THE SMOKERS - possible to smoke outside on the covered balconies, not in the flat. Smoking with a view and ventilated - what can be better? ;-)
HELIPORT 1 - between Utopia and History.
This area has a glorious past as a place for "rendez-vous" of the elegant society of the Capital (Leopold the 1st - first Belgian King - did here his "Joyeuse Entree" in 1830) and has lived a succession of utopias starting with the construction of the first public European train station in 1835. A century later the traveling traffic slew down and the station was closed, making room for the Second Utopia. On the occasion of the Brussels Universal Expo of 58, the Sabena Heliport is build in the city center: on March 3 1957, the first European passenger helicopter takes off until 1966. Following the closure of the heliport, this area is abandoned for a few years, but in 1989, another utopia see the day here : the only animal farm in a city center opens its door.
It is today part of North/Canal/Thurn & (email hidden) shared by theaters, clubs, expos, leisure and new homes.
The whole appartement.
A stone trough form the busy center with easy access to all parts of the city via bikes, metro, tram bus and train to the rest of Belgium or airport...
Metro station Yser 250 meters away, North train station 15' walk...
Other Things to Note
Have been living there and sharing the place via Airbnb, had great guests to whom I had great contact with. Place has a rough edge with a mix of objects and images I love... Its lived, orginal and comfortable.
Simple respect of the flat and the neighbors, leaving the place clean and tidy as it was at your arrival is always appreciated. A full cleaning of the flat gets done professionally once a week.
FOR THE SMOKERS - possible on the covered balconies, not in the flat. Smoking with a view and ventilated - what can be better? ;-)
It is my home and I really like it, hope you do also and respect it as it was yours ;-)
It was a amazing location and a fantastic place. Jean was helpful in every way and quick to respond to any questions we had. He also left us maps of where to go which was awesome!
Oh what a beautiful stay! We felt very welcome and enjoy our short trip to the city! Your home was really great and cosy, with a indescribable view over the city! Thanks Jean for all the tips.

Jean was verry helpful. Great host.
The appartement was nice. Great cityview!
Myself and three other friends had a lovely stay in Jean's flat. The apartment is all you could ever need; it's right by the metro, ten minutes walk to the centre and the sights/shops etc. The view is to fantastic too, as is the flat. Jean was a welcoming and helpful host, and went out of his way to ensure we were settled when we arrived 9pm in the evening. Couldn't fault any part of our stay. Thanks very much! James
We had a wonderful stay in Brussel.
The flat is very well equipted and there was nothing that we have missed.
In just a 15 minutes walk you are in the center of Brussel and from the two balconies you have a wonderful look over the city. A metro station lies just on the next corner of the street and ten minutes away is the North Station.
The bed was good, but very soft for those who may not like that.
Jean is a very friendly and helpful host, with many tips where to go and for the best places. His collection of maps is great. One day we decided to visit Antwerpen, and (of course) there was a map for this city. As well as for Gent, Leuven, Brügge or other cities. And the maps for Brussel are many and for nearly every kind of interests.
Communication with Jean was easy and he always responded within no time.
Jean's apartement is a great place to stay, and we felt like home after a very short time. We absolutely recommend it for a nice stay in Brussel .
