Escape to the country in a cozy lower-level suite w/ fantastic mountain views, private entrance & parking. Situated just over Blue Mountain from Carlisle, my space offers the best of the area year-round!

Please note that this is not a shared space; the guest suite is in our finished (walk-out) basement. The listing is not for the entire home.

The space
Our log home sits on five acres with spectacular mountain views!

The space is a walk-out basement suite with a living area, kitchenette, full bath w/ shower, and large bedroom. The suite is entirely private from our living space. The door to the upstairs remains locked during your stay.

Joe and I live upstairs with our yellow lab, Boone.
We are considerate of our guests; however, you can and should expect normal family noise and occasional bark. :) The suite is the entire lower level of our home and is directly below our living room, kitchen, and home office. We both work from home, so you may hear us walking around, talking, etc. Please keep this in mind when considering our space.

A full-size air mattress is available w/ bedding if you need an extra bed. Please let me know ahead of time, so I can have it ready. :)

The futon in the bedroom folds into a single bed. Bedding/pillows provided.

We welcome pets; please let us know ahead of time if you will travel with your pet. No pet fee; we ask that your pet stays on a leash while outside and you clean up after them; doggie bags are provided. :)

Cellular service is spotty, so we provide high-speed internet service. You may need to turn on cellular calling to make calls/receive texts.

Guest access:
The entire lower-level suite is yours to use. There is a smart lock on the entry door for your convenience. Feel free to use the firepit area (wood provided) and the front and back decks. We have some pretty amazing views and sunsets! There is a small propane grill for guests outside of the guest entrance. Propane, bbq tools, and foil are provided.

Other things to note:

The cottage is an entirely smoke-free/Tobacco-free space.
You can stop smoking in the outside areas, and please use the labeled receptacles that are provided.

** For security purposes, we have outdoor cameras. The cameras facing the driveway, under the deck, and on the front porch will be deactivated during your stay **

Guest access
You will have access to the basement suite, fire pit area, guest propane grill outside the guest entrance, and front porch. We will send you the front door code on the morning of your stay.

Other things to note
You must be 21 years of age to reserve.

We welcome traveling nurses - UPMC Carlisle and New Bloomfield are 14 miles from the cabin.

** The cabin is located in a rural area; there are a limited number of grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations. Uber Eats is available for delivery. Carlisle and Mechanicsburg are a short 20-minute drive.**

Let me start by saying I love living in the Landisburg/Carlisle area ~ the changing beauty of the mountains and the excitement of four seasons of outdoor activities! I chose this location to take advantage of being close to outdoor activities and Carlisle while enjoying a secluded getaway. I love to travel myself, so I have provided as many conveniences as possible for your stay. You will feel right at home, from a comfortable bed to fresh ground coffee. I owned and operated a cozy cottage in the Poconos for four years, it was a wonderful experience! Upon moving to the area, I wanted to share the beauty of the Appalachian mountain range. :) What you can expect from me as a host - Speedy replies to all questions or concerns during your stay.
