This is a safe, quiet place for people to rest and relax and be themselves. It was rated among Hawaii’s 50 Best B&Bs by Frommer’s Budget Travel and you can’t beat the convenient location and incredible tropical views.
We are located approx. one hour's drive from the end of the island in either direction. We are two miles from the beach and 3 miles from the town of Kapaa, where the best restaurants and shops are located on the island. A small country store is located about 500 yards from the B&B.
The Sleeping Giant trail begins 200 yards from our doorstep. The Kuilau Trail and the beach side bike path are also close by. One can reach the Secret Falls in about 40 minutes from the house, but it is a jungle boy type of hike.
We offer beach towels and mats. Beach chairs, coolers and snorkel equipment upon availability.
Please check our individual room calendars for room availability. King's View Room ($198/night, has private kitchenette, private lani, only rented room upstairs.) Pool View Room ($147/night), Valley View Room ($147/night), and Garden View Room ($137/night) . Holiday rates subject to change.
We have added a room called the Tropical Paradise room for $112 a night. It is at the far side of the house surrounded by a tropical canopy, closest to the hot tub. It has a shared bath with the hosts, you have to walk across the pool deck. Pictures are not available yet. Inquire through Airbnb or allow us to contact you:)

What a wonderful week in Kauai. The hospitality of Darcy and her house managers Jadrian and Lily was exceptional. I was in Kauai with two friends. I was in the Valley View Room... my friends were in the Pool View Room. Both rooms were perfect. We had full access of the pool, hot tub, kitchen and common areas of the house. Made our stay so much simpler. We were able to share the fridge, pantry and had full access to all the kitchen goodies. Jadrian had coffee ready for us each morning. Lily kept everything nice and clean. Always lots of flowers.
The house is located very close to Kapaa. Not really walking distance, but close enough to ride a bike or a quick drive to the beach. If you have the opportunity, try to be there the first Saturday of the month. There is a wonderful art\music festival along the streets of Downtown Kapaa.
Without a doubt, when I go back to Kauai, I'll be staying at Secret Falls.
Really quiet - only the birds were loud and the view of the lush green mountains very relaxing. The communal kitchen was really well stocked with all kitchen tools, clean and a great place to connect with others. Kimo was a knowledgeable and gracious host. He is an excellent cook and made us a fantastic Ahi meal. I would definately stay here again. The only problem we had was the cold spell that was really cold in the mornings (hi 50's?) but a trip to the south beach helped to warm us up.
All email communication was prompt and easy to understand. The location is convenient to Kapa'a. Morning traffic getting to the main highway can be a pain, but it's Kaua'i: you shouldn't be rushing anyways!
The backyard view is fantastic. The waterfall can be distantly seen. We didn't try hiking down to it but enjoyed having the option. The swimming pool I believe is salt water and was warm and nice to swim in after spending time in the hot tub. Breakfast was simple but ample. Mostly fruit, bagels, cottage cheese, coffee, POG juice, and various spreads. We stayed in the Valley View room (has extra twin bed also) and the Pool View rooms on the bottom floor. Of the two rooms, I liked the Valley View slightly more although it is smaller. There is a door that connects between the two. The house is very peaceful and clean and we could barely hear each other although we are not that loud. There are very few roosters nearby (wherever you stay here, be sure to ask!!!) so our sleep was peaceful. There are some bugs so be sure to wear bug spray if you are outside in the dark. Kimo the caretaker is a great resource and was kind enough to let us drop off our stuff super early in the morning and answer our questions. All in all, we had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again!
This was exactly the place we wanted to spend our honeymoon. The Secret Falls Retreat was great and exactly what we expected. Kimo and Ali excellent hosts. They were very friendly and we enjoyed talking to them and learning more about Kauai. The location is great. Having a view of the surrounding landscape was amazing. It is truely gorgeous there. We stayed in the valley view room. It was a nice spacious room for two people. It was very clean and well kept. The view of the valley was excellent. Being able to use the kitchen was very beneficial. It allowed us to have our own schedule and make meals when we were hungry. The kitchen was clean and well kept. The pool and hot tub were also very enjoyable. Overall we had an excellent time and would stay there again if in Kauai again. Thanks for a great time and wonderful memories.
We had a great stay at this small B&B in a beautiful, quiet and convenient location. Our room was very large and we were able to use the big kitchen and the pool. Ed is a very welcoming and knowledgeable host. Would definitely recommend this place to others.
It was a pleasure and without doubt the best place to spend your vacations in such a magnificant mansion with such a firendly and funny host like Ed. Spending the day in the pool looking at the rainforest and the waterfall or relaxing in the jaccuzi in the evening, this is where you want to think back when remembering Kaua'i! Thanks a lot Ed, looking forward to spending my next Hawai'i trip at your place again!
We stayed in pool view and valley view rooms, these 2 rooms are connected, share same bathroom, it is really good for a family. The pool view room is bigger than the picture, neat, clean and great backyard valley view. Every morning we had breakfast in the backyard, enjoy the quietness and nature. Ed and the worker Kimo are so friendly, they told us where to buy grocery, where to eat good seafood and the culture of Kauai. There are other travelers shared the kitchen and living room, we also learned some tips from their trips too. If you like to see really Kauai, not in the resort area, this is a great place to stay.

Aloha and Welcome!
My name is Darcy Summer, my husband and have lived rurally on a cattle ranch in northern BC for many years. It is 54 miles up the Alaska Highway! Yup it is REALLY cold there in the winter, so we now are over in Hawaii enjoying the sun and surf. I also breed and show Gypsy Vanner horses. We have 3 children, ages 4, 8 and 11. We love the outdoors, hiking, boating, fishing, sledding, skating, skiing and horse back riding. We have 2 gardens and 2 greenhouses on the ranch in BC, so I freeze and can all the vegetables for our winter supply. We raise all our own certified organic meat, beef, pork, chickens, lamb, and fish for our yearly supply of salmon and halibut! As my educational background is in Botanical Medicine, prefer to live as organic and chemically free as possible.
I had a private practice in the US before moving back to the ranch in 2001, now I chase children, cows and horses, and of course attempt to surf and spend time basking in the sun:).
The moment I viewed this house and property, I knew I had found our retreat ! I have always loved the tropics, but wanted a place that was peaceful, quiet, close to the beaches, rivers and hiking trails. It exceeded all my expectations. I hope you enjoy the property and all that Kauai has to offer, I look forward to hearing about your experience!:) Mahalo.
We have moved over to the island!! We will now be able to meet and visit with all our guests in person. Look forward to seeing you in paradise!:)
Mahalo and much Aloha,
