About this listing
About 350 meters far from St Peter’s basilica, in front of the historic centre, behind Trastevere and at the feet of Janiculum Hill, Violet is about 70 squared meters, at the forth floor, renovated in 2011.
The apartment is made of one living room with a double sofa bed and dinind area with a wood table with six seats, a large bedroom with a living area, a small single bedroom, a totally equipped habitable kitchen, one large bathroom, a closet room and three small balconies.
Violet is in the same building of our other apartment Plum, so we can host larger groups, up to eleven guests.
Violet is in a popular area, and yet in a very quiet location. Few steps take you to a big supermarket, any kind of shops, restaurants, winebars, and after 350 meters you are at the feet of St. Peter’s basilica, surrounded by all the services you may ever need.
The bus n.64 starts in front of the building (you will always find seats), passes through the historic centre and ends at the Termini central train station. In addition, two blocks away is the local train station San Pietro, and walking for two blocks towards the Vatican there is also a taxi stop.

Nice, clean apartment within walking distance of Vatican City. Bus stop is also super close that goes straight to Termini but you can also walk to most of the major sights if you don't mind walking 20-30 minutes. There's a parking lot in front of the building with free parking but it looked like it was always busy, but we were lucky and got a spot when we arrived. Overall, good experience and would stay again.
Everything about this apartment was beyond our expectations! The place was very clean, the location was great, just about 5 min. walking distance from the St Peters Church. The host was very friendly and professional, seemed to have everything under control. It's near a lots of great restaurants, and just about 15 minutes walk from Via Del Corso, which has lots of very neat shops, also near Piazza di Spagna and more. Would definitely recommend this for any family looking for a nice apartment just outside the center of Rome!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Purple Home for 5 days and I can say that was a great surprise. The apartment it is exactly as you can see in the photos and it was really organized, is a little bit far of the downtown but you easily get to all the tourist places with a bus 64 that passes in the main street. Valentina & Alessandro prepared a nice map/tour guide that you can access online or it is also printed and you get once you are in the apartment. They also have shuttle service to the airport, if you need. ;) Alessandro it was really helpful, he reply all my doubt messages quickly. Unfortunately I couldn't meet Alessandro and Valentina personally but Irina was there in the check in and explain everything about the flat and the facilities. My mum and I had a really great staying and I definitely recommend this flat. Alessandro and Valentina thank you so much for everything. Cheers!
8-10 min walking distance to vatican but not too close to old city and shopping streets. 8-10€ taxi is better solution to transport center. But safe neighborhood and got nice supermarket near the apartment
Rooms are well decorated but the only bathroom was awful. Especially it is very hard to take shower if you are going with another couple.. After the first shower all the toilet got wet..
Householders are very helpful and reachable by phone anytime..
Conclusion: apartment should be a bit cheaper..
What a wonderful place to stay. My daughters and I were able to relax and feel completely comfortable with each of us having plenty of room to ourselves. We loved the proximity to the Vatican City and nearby neighborhood cafes. Friendly residential neighborhood where many spoke excellent English and helped us find our way. Grocery store within a block speaks NO english but was still very convenient.
Only one A/C unit so our stay during August was a bit sticky but the window shades drawn helped quite a bit.
Nice and spacious accommodation, clean and fresh, near the Vatican. Some small balconies but with room for two chairs. There is a supermarket nearby, so we bought some wine and snacks to enjoy in the sun on one of the balconies. The taxi dropped us wrong when we arrived, it was a little bit difficult to find the address. The area is nice and quietly. It is close to a bus stop so It was easy to get into town. We also walked several times, but it's pretty far. The hostess was friendly and helpful, we recommend this place!
Valentina's place is picture-perfect! Excellent location walking distance to Vatican just one block from a big supermarket in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Super clean, tidy and well decorated. She also personally showed me her others 02 flats located in the same building and all of them are very charming. Valentina and her husband are friendly, communicative and helpful couple. Thanks again for keeping our bags and for the late check out. I certainly would return ;)
