Karl is a wonderful host. He is kind and helpful. The apartment is exactly just as described. Clean and cosy. I really enjoyed staying at Karl's department and would return again next time I visit Dusseldorf.

About the place: this is not really an apartment, it's a tiny room in the basement, lodged between the heating room and the elevator shaft (both of them produce hums and grunts). Privacy is not guaranteed, I found myself coming out of the shower and realised that the owner is working in the back-yard just outside, that was embarrassing. Communication with the host was at best, sketchy, seems like they answer as they please. Another thing was that there weren't any basic amenities, usch as soap, shampoo, dish-washing stuff, bin-liners, second set of bed-linen (I stayed for 10 nights). Some positive things: the room is new, clean, in a good location, shower is nice, good heating.

Response from Karl:
What Ori writes is simply not true: - the apartment has 170 square feet, one room with two windows and kitchen, one bathroom, all as described. - it is not located next to the heating room, there are no noises from the heating. there is a refridgerator in the apartment. - I told Ori I would work in the garden which I did at noon on a Saturday outside in the garden. If he wants to run around naked during the day he could pull down the shades. Apart from that Ori had all the privacy he could wish for - Ori had one question for scissors and one for the prolongation of his stay. Both of which I answered right away. He got scissors and could stay longer as requested. There was no other request. I talked to him when we met on the street. He did not mention any problems. - Of course there was soap and detergent. I asked Ori if anything was missing and there wasn't.

Apartment is sufficient for one person's stay and as Karl clearly highlighted in the description, its without in-house cooking. Warm welcome by Karl and he provided all the information required for me to adapt to the place like local transport, nearby food options etc. Having a map, menu from few nearby eating points with home delivery option and German Language book in the apartment was quite thoughtful and helping for a newbie in the town :) All in all, it was a very good experience for my stay in his basement apartment offering. Many thanks to Karl :)
