About this listing
River North is known as a vibrant entertainment district that is centrally located and a short walk or taxi ride from the best Chicago has to offer - but what I particularly like about my location is that it is tucked away on the north branch of the Chicago River and next to a beautiful park! It's quiet, peaceful and hopefully very convenient for your stay!
*** Note: while there is guest parking usually available, it has to be reserved in advance and costs $20/night.
Welcome! I have a 1200 sq ft apartment (a 2 BR/2 BA), and the second bedroom is available. This room has a huge windows with great light (overlooking the park and river), a desk, premium cable TV and a pull-out sofa.
*Note: I recently adopted a goofy 2 year old boxer as a rescue. He typically hangs out in the living room or my bedroom. Please let me know if you have allergies.
There is also the option of guest parking if you are driving / renting a car.
The private room, private bathroom and the common areas of the apartment (including the kitchen and balcony). You are also welcome to enjoy all of the amenities of the building, including (in summer months) the 7th floor pool/jacuzzi and exercise facility. The building also has a 24/7 doorman for extra security and hotel-like convenience.
Interaction with guests
I love to host but respect my guests' privacy. I do live in the unit in the master bedroom so the living areas are a shared space (unless I am out of town or staying with a friend), but I work during the week.
Outside the condo, you have the fabulous River North neighborhood - with top bars, restaurants, and clubs - as well as some hidden gems - all within walking distance.
The closest El stops are the Blue line stop at Grand & Milwaukee (0.8 km walk), or the Brown line El stops at either Chicago or Merchandise Mart, depending on whether you're coming from the North (Chicago) or South (Merchandise Mart). There are generally plentiful cabs and of course, Uber, and if the weather is nice, you could rent a bicycle or easily walk a couple of blocks to the entertainment district.
Other things to note
Depending on when you arrive, I may or may not be at home to greet you. The good news is that the building has a 24-7 doorman, and I will leave instructions and a permission to enter form with him. Just let him know you are my guest, and the unit number, and that you would like the spare key. He should then find the permission form, sign you in, and fetch the key!
By accepting this booking, you agree that the fee charged is for my time and my hosting and concierge personal services, not for the rental, assignment, or license of the space, which is free for all clients. I do not book to strangers, so I expect to get to know all guests prior to booking, so please have correct information in your profile, good reviews and tell me a little bit about yourself and your purpose of your visit. If you are staying with another guest, I will also require their name for the doorman. Thank you!
I'm a full-time working professional, so I'm only home at night except on weekends and occasionally during the day. I've lived in Chicago for more than 10 years, so I know the area very well. That said, I'm well-traveled and I appreciate the benefits of privacy if you are visiting.
