About This Listing
Welcome to Park Place - a modern luxury high-rise adjacent to a park and the north branch of the Chicago River, located in the heart of River North!
I have a 1200 sq ft condo (a 2 BR/2 BA), and the second bedroom is available. This room has a huge windows with great light (overlooking the park and river), a desk, premium cable TV and a pull-out sofa.
*Note: I recently adopted a goofy 2 year old boxer as a rescue. He typically hangs out in the living room or my bedroom. Please let me know if you have allergies.
If staying on a couch is not your style, I am willing to rent out my master suite for an extra $50 per night. There are also a large leather L-shaped couch in the living room area that is very comfortable to sleep on, if you have other guests you are traveling with - see the pricing for guests.
There is also the option of guest parking if you are driving / renting a car.
The private room, private bathroom and the common areas of the apartment (including the kitchen and balcony). You are also welcome to enjoy all of the amenities of the building, including (in summer months) the 7th floor pool/jacuzzi and exercise facility. The building also has a 24/7 doorman for extra security and hotel-like convenience.
Interaction with Guests
I love to host but respect my guests' privacy. I do live in the unit in the master bedroom so the living areas are a shared space (unless I am out of town or staying with a friend), but I work during the week.
Outside the condo, you have the fabulous River North neighborhood - with top bars, restaurants, and clubs - as well as some hidden gems - all within walking distance.
The closest El stops are the Blue line stop at Grand & Milwaukee (0.8 km walk), or the Brown line El stops at either Chicago or Merchandise Mart, depending on whether you're coming from the North (Chicago) or South (Merchandise Mart). There are generally plentiful cabs and of course, Uber, and if the weather is nice, you could rent a bicycle or easily walk a couple of blocks to the entertainment district.
Other Things to Note
Depending on when you arrive, I may or may not be at home to greet you. The good news is that the building has a 24-7 doorman, and I will leave instructions and a permission to enter form with him. Just let him know you are my guest, and the unit number, and that you would like the spare key. He should then find the permission form, sign you in, and fetch the key!
I expect guests to behave like you are staying with friends or family. Make yourself at home but obviously respect the space, and especially respect the building.
Shorge was very responsive and friendly during the reservation and travel experience. Made it easy and straightforward for me as a business traveler. Guests get a personal bedroom and restroom right at the entrance of the apartment, very convenient. The bed is a foldover couch, so if you have back problems it might not be the most comfy sleep on the planet. But overall a good experience.
Shorge was a kind and engaging host. The appartment is sunny, comfortable and with a beautiful view of the river. The location is close to public transportation and near good restaurants. I had a very pleasant stay.
Wonderful stay. Shorge was a great host and we felt very comfortable our whole stay. The space has beautiful views and a calm feel, exactly what was needed after a long day of conferencing.
Great experience in Chicago !
Shorge was very accommodating and felt like we were staying over a friend's apartment. He was able to give us many tips and recommendations for places to visit.
His coffee and tea were great!!
I had a great stay and definitely coming back to visit in the summer!
About the Host, Shorge
I'm a full-time working professional, so I'm only home at night except on weekends and occasionally during the day. 36 years old, single, fun, I've lived in Chicago for more than 10 years, so I know the area very well. That said, I'm well-traveled and I appreciate the benefits of privacy if you are visiting.
