This was an unfortunate experience. The "host" is in a timezone 5 hours away and could not receive my call when the key would not open the door. Text worked and the housekeeper and handyman got it resolved 2 hours later. Listing says TV but there is no TV service. Listing says fireplace; one is broken, and no wood. Rugs are dirty and we found broken glass in one. Written instructions are outdated. We lost wifi for one night out of two because the bill had not been paid. Other renters moved in to the matching casita and left their dog there, which barked for 90 minutes. Not the experience I thought it would be. The home has some charming features (tiles, art) but note the reviews that refer to only a single window opening, location next door to a car wash, and general feeling of neglect. I cannot recommend this experience to others.
Stay here! This casita is fantastic and is so close to everything. Jessica is very responsive to any questions always replied immediately. Take it from me, I grew up in Taos, this is an amazing place to stay!
The Casita was clean, comfortable, and well represented in the photos and descriptions. We enjoyed the patio area around back which has a table and chairs. The Love Apple restaurant across the road is excellent and we ate there three nights in a row. Also, Cid's Market is conveniently close as well. Jessica was attentive via texts, emails, and voice mails. The only drawback for me was that there is not a good place to take a morning or evening walks. The Casita is a mile from the plaza, but it is via the highway. There are sidewalks, but if you are set on walking to town it is something to be considered if it will bother you walking by traffic. Otherwise, there is easy access via car. I recommend this Casita.
On the positive side:
The location is good. Near some great restaurants and Cid's Market which a great grocery store. Also close to downtown Taos, but not too close.
Casita Rio is a spacious place, with a large kitchen. There's a washer and dryer full size fridge, and plenty of room for dinner guests. The place was clean and tidy.
On the negative side.
When we first arrived the air was a bit stale inside. That's when we realized that only one window can be opened, so it was difficult to get some fresh air in the place.
It was obvious from the beginning that regular maintenance inside and out at Casita Rio has been neglected, and a major facelift was way overdue.
This was a perfect place you our dog and us. The yard was large enough and well fenced for our dog. We enjoyed the house. It was functional and very appealing.
We had a nice stay at Casita Rio. Be sure to eat at The Love Apple just across the street! Thank you , Jessica and Revive Hospitality.
Casita Rio was wonderful and Jessica was incredibly responsive to all of our questions and/or needs. I can't recommend Taos, Casita Rio or any property Jessica has to offer enough!

About the Host, Jessica
I am thrilled to be part of a fun loving family. Our collective love of art, music, fresh air, travel and learning keeps our lives vivid and full of wonderful memories together.
One season we are taking in the crisp autumns, snowy winters, breathtaking mountain vistas and eclectic history of Northern New Mexico. Next we are soaking up the warm sunshine, tropical breezes, luscious flavors and sacred spirit of the Hawaiian Islands.
We are privileged to have found ourselves stewards of three remarkable properties in these magical locations. We have lovingly revived these homes, taking great care to honor the history and sacred space of each one.
It is our pleasure to share with you, our gracious guest, these special places so dear to our heart. Welcome, and may your visit with us become part of your own collection of wonderful memories!
