Harshil - When you arrived at 5PM, I picked up the phone within 2 minutes of your voice message and was in quick contact with you throughout the evening. I offered to walk you into the home after inspecting it personally while you waited outside, but that is not what you chose. You chose to cancel the booking with AirBnB and drive back to your home city instead of allowing us to find you another place. As you can see from our other reviews, we have never run into this issue. The door that you used the key to unlock, was actually locked. Just because the handle doesn't turn, doesn't mean that the door was unlocked. Anyways, I offered to call the police for you and I offered to walk the premises. You refused to go inside, which is okay. But to review our home based on the front door does not do any justice. As for the Airbnb customer service, I called them and asked that they reach out to you; somehow I was able to get a hold of them quicker than the time frame you mentioned. It looks like you never ended up canceling with AirBnB nor returned their calls (which I requested that AirBnB continue to reach out to you, but they stated you never returned their calls). As for the neighborhood and neighbors, we've known each other for at least 10 years now. I'm sorry that you didn't get to meet them. Many of them are business owners, entrepreneurs, in government, work for the hospital nearby, or have just been living there for 30+ years. As your hosts, we provide you with the address and other details upon booking so that you can review the neighborhood and area to get comfortable with it. We provided plenty of time (days) for you and your family to review the neighborhood. I'm sorry that things worked out the way they did. I'm also happy that you took my advice that if you and your family do not feel safe, to move to somewhere in the interim (coffee shop, mall, restaurant, etc) until I could arrive. Unfortunately, you all chose to drive back to the nearby city you came from instead of waiting 15 minutes. Again, I wish it worked out differently and I'm sorry that you never got a hold of AirBnB.
