Guest access
Off street parking. The parking lot is priority parking during the week for the main house offices. Please, do not block anyone or double park. If the lot is full, park on the street. Keys not needed, we will provide guests with the combination to the entrance door. Occasionally in winter we might need to get into the garage for our snowblower. It won’t impact you other than the time limited noise of getting the machines/out and the door opening and closing. Don’t be alarmed if the garage opens for snow removal equipment. The door to the house is locked and no one will be coming inside. Trash trucks come Thursday and Friday AM EARLY. Please do not block dumpsters and park on other side of the lot the nites before.
***Please bring house shoes, as we do not want outdoor shoes on any inside area. This is due to snow, salt, dirt roads, grit from shoes and muck. Most Vermonters adhere to this rule in their own homes too.

Other things to note
Located near the VAST trail, which is a multi-use bike, walk, snowmobile, cross country ski, snowshoe trail on the old railroad bed. There is the Second Congregational church nearby, and The Governor's House (a bed and breakfast) across the street. Additionally, there are hiking/biking trails nearby, not to mention the Lamoille River for fishing, canoeing, or kayaking. Green River Reservoir is a wonderful site for kayaking, or canoeing in a pristine water and is about 15 minutes away. We are about 1/2 hour from Stowe or Smuggler's Notch, and 3/4 hour from Jay Peak Ski Area.

Follow directions on your GPS to 111 Main st. Hyde Park, VT 05655. Turn into The Grant House drive. Follow to the 2 car garage...a red building with upstairs windows. Park facing the trees, next to dumpsters. HOWEVER, TRASH /RECYCLING TRUCK COMES Thursday and Friday please park away from the dumpsters…..the nights before..Trucks come early.

***We’ve been very fortunate to have great guests who leave the place clean, tidy and follow the house rules. Every travel location has different house rules and our expectation is that you leave the apartment in great shape, wiping up spills, taking out trash, keeping off fans, washer/dryer/ dishwasher when no one is home,
and keeping shoes off in the apartment. More house rules in our house book in the kitchen table.

Neighborhood highlights

This is in a small Vermont village, with the typical village buildings. Post Office, Library, Courthouse, church, auto repair, and sheriff's office. New to the Village of Hyde Park is the Two Sons restaurant. As of 3/20/2022, breakfasts are served most days of the week.
A quiet town with ample easy walking streets, however, a car is necessary to get around to see the sights, or ski, or shop. Stowe, Smuggler's Notch and Jay Peak are all about 30-45 minutes away. Lots of great dining in Stowe, as well as unique shopping. We are within walking of wonderful hiking trails, and many trails allow bikes....the new fat bikes and E bikes are common to see.

Stephen and I moved to Vermont after vacationing here for years. We considered Vermont to be the place we wanted to be every day, not just vacations. The hiking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and walking is beautiful and part of our routine now, not just something to look forward to during a break. When we go on vacation now we more than ever, look forward to our return to the green mountains, as nothing compares! We developed our airbnb apartment with our comfort in mind, and chose amenities that we appreciate when we travel; simple, yet functional and pleasing to the eye, easy to clean, comfortable and warm.
