Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
This is a one room studio, with a separate entrance, in the back yard of a Palo Alto home. It has a compact kitchen consisting of two burners, a sink and a dorm sized refrigerator with freezer. There is a private bathroom, and a closet area. The furnishings include a seating area, with 2 chairs, a full sized bed, a built in table height eating area with two chairs, and a desk with a stool. The decor is mid century eclectic. The entrance and the windows face the yard and the driveway.

The space
You can feel secures staying here, as the studio is professionally cleaned at least three days before your arrival, and there are no other people in the space, between the cleaning and your check in. The entrance is separate from my entrance, and thus it is easy to stay here without ever getting within 6 feet of your host.
I have tried to make the space feel very Californian, as a lifelong N.California girl, I love my state. The photo on the wall is of Avila Beach, and I hope you get to visit a beach town, our amazing redwoods parks, and gorgeous San Francisco while you are here.

Guest access
There is a laundry room in the same building as the studio. You are welcome to use it. Weekends are especially busy, so it might be that the washer is full with someone else's laundry on occasion. Check back!

Other things to note
We do walk out in the garden, to socialize or do maintenance, and it is unavoidable that we walk past your windows. We do respect your privacy, and try to stay away from the walls of the apartment as much as possible. We do have a medium size dog, that will also be in the yard on occasion.

I am a life long Californian, a mom, and a designer. I love gardening, my family and my work. I am a passionate environmentalist, and I am afraid you will HAVE to recycle while you stay with us. Two of the things I love about N. California are it's natural beauty, and it's cultural diversity. I think life should be fun, and that people should be kind to each other. I am an interior designer, and run my business out of my home. My husband, Frank is in high tech, big data, if that means anything to you. He is a great resource if you are interested in the local Silicon Valley scene. We have 3 kids, 2 of which are at college most of the time. We rent their rooms out while they are gone, and really enjoy our guests. We also have a vintage cabin get-away in the redwoods that we share with Airbnb guests. I like to think that as hosts, my husband Frank and I offer a local concierge service. We enjoy helping our guests enjoy their stay. There is so much to see in our beautiful area, and hope that staying with our family gives our guests a feeling of being at home in Silicon Valley. Both of our properties are vintage homes, and while we try to keep it perfect, sometimes there might be some flaw during your stay. We value our 5 star reviews, and want to make sure you are happy in our home. Please let us know if there is anything that bothers you, or if we can do or change anything to improve your stay while you are here.

During your stay
We are in the main house in front of the apartment, which is in an outbuilding in our yard. We are happy to answer questions, problem solve, store your suitcases, or help you get acclimated to the local area. However, it is entirely possible to stay with us and never interact.
