LovelySunnyFlat in Born Barcelona

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Placeta de Montcada, Barcelona, Catalonia 08003, Spain

The Space

We are renting a cozy flat with a big sunny terrace in the very center of the old Barcelona.

The flat is available per days and weeks, it accommodate up to 3 persons, minimum 2.

It is fully equipped with towels, sheets and everything that you may need for your stay.
Free WiFi and Tv.
New bed :)

It is in a 5th floor of a quiet palace built back in 1825, no lift.

Placed in Born, behind Santa Maria del Mar and 50 meters from Picasso Museum, Barceloneta beach at 10 minutes walking.

El Born has an almost magical feel. It’s an off-beat and fashionable Barcelona barrio that offers up some of the city’s best art galleries, funky boutique shopping; bars, clubs, and tapas.

Between the Gothic Quarter and one of the city’s most relaxing and enjoyable green spaces, Parc Ciutadela ( In the 16th century there was a a financial crisis because of a downturn in Mediterranean trade and Felipe V destroyed much of the neighborhood to build a fortress, which was later converted into the beautiful Parc Ciutadela).

Over the last 30 years the Borne has turned into the fantastically fashionable neighborhood you see today. It’s kept it’s medieval dress but has gotten quite a few new accessories such as Picasso Museum, Palau de la Musica, the church of Santa Maria del Mar, etc…

The attraction of El Born is more than just its pretty façade; it has a rich cultural heritage evident in its museums, a laid-back café culture and a wealth of shops and boutiques.

El Born is a place where you can enjoy both a city break and beach holiday rolled into one. It is ideally located to reach the surrounding districts either on foot or by metro with the main street Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter just a ten minute walk away.
Ten minutes in the other direction is Barcelona’s seafront and beaches.

It’s location means the area is quieter than the more central districts
and so perfect for families and couples.

A younger crowd can still party the night away if they choose; the clubs and bars are more sophisticated in El Born and less rowdy than they are along the infamous Las Ramblas.

Easily accessible by public transportation.  The main metro line that runs along side it is the Yellow Line, Line 5, and the major stops are “Urquinaona”, “Jaume 1er”, and “Barceloneta”.  You can also get easy access with the Red Line 1 “Arc de Triunf”.  There are also many buses and of course Bicing.

We are waiting for you !

  • Un petit studio avec une belle terrasse sur les toits, à 50 m du chevet de Santa Maria del Mar. ElBorn est un quartier sympathique et vivant, très proche des hauts lieux touristiques mais juste assez à l'écart pour être plus calme. Super endroit!

  • Very funky flat. Great view. Lovely area.

Unless you absolutely need sumptuous luxury, you can't go wrong.

  • If you are looking for a great location, this neighbourhood is the best.
A lot of bars, restaurants and walking/cycling distance from the beach and musea.

++ Because the apartment is the 5th floor, it's very quiet at night.

++ Be aware to visit this place when it's warm outside, because the main reason you should rent this place is the rooftop terrace.
The terrace has got a lot of space and a nice view. The apartment itself is very small.

+- Although the pictures look lovely, the accessoires in the apartment are very old. This results in a cheap price compared to other apartments.

-- The door is hard to open and the shower is a hazardous place.
The shower is very slippery and we both fell during showering.

-- When you come home during night or day, the apartment has a very funny sewer/mold smell, not very pleasant.

-+ Maybe Emiliano just didn't have a great day, but he didn't even know where we could rent bicycles. However his English was fluent and, apart from checkin, we didn't see him around furthermore.

Basically we booked this apartment because it was cheap with a rooftop terrace. If you are young and can stand the smell inside, please go there, because the location and the terrace are magnificent. If you are planning on staying inside or if when it is cold outside, spend some extra bucks on another apartment where the inside is better and less smelly.

Overall we had a great stay in Barcelona and the only time we spend in the appartment was at the terrace or sleeping and for that it was an okay place.

  • The location of Placenta de Montecado could not be better, in a lovely part of the old town it offers a fairly tranquil yet central locale. Our hosts where friendly and unobtrusive. The roof terrace is wonderful on hot nights and you really are about ten paces from the Picasso Museum. Brilliant restaurants right below your building. The apartment is clean and basic and has a real bed as opposed to a sofa bed, the Wifi was easy to connect to and there where also many basic provisions such as oil, salt, pepper etc, all in all very good value for money and pleasant hosts!

  • Apartment is compact, central and rooftop terrace makes the 110 stairs worthwhile. All that you need is provided, no trouble finding it and contacting Emiliano. He and Sara were helpful and happy, it was an enjoyable stay. I recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to experience life in the centre - but they must be fit enough for the climb. Gracias hombres.

  • We were in Barcelona for our honeymoon, and the cute little flat was just fine. It has everything you need for a basic living, my husband found the bed a little hard, but for me it was good :) The spacious terrace with a lot of plants was so great for spending long breakfasts or evenings. The location of the flat was perfect for us, as it is situated in El Born, the most interesting and pretty part of the city. Sara and Emiliano were very friendly and uncomplicated. We would come back!

  • Emiliano and Sara's apartment for two people ++ is situated in one of Barcelona's best locations to enjoy all the city has to offer for a short stay. Whilst the flat offers simple accommodation, it covers all the basics you need for a few days. Perfect for a young couple or friends who want to have fun in an unpretentious, hippy-vibe, clean and cosy place. 2 best things = the terrace and the incredibly kind, responsive and considerate hosts.

  • Emiliano was an excellent host. He was there when we arrived a little early and helped us with the luggage (many stairs!:) The terrace is absolutely as wonderful as it looks and the apartment has everything you might need, perfect for 2 people. The area is awesome! Wonderful little streets, stores and restaurants all around. We stayed for 3 nights and had a great time!
