THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Wow, what a place! From the first meeting with Manny until we left, it felt like the turn-key solution to a genuine San Francisco experience. Along with the awesome (decor, great nearby restaurants, Shake Down, proximity to grocery stores, Union Square) comes the reality (income inequality, drug and mental health issues, parking). The first night (a Tuesday) we all slept soundly save for a couple sirens early in the night. The second night, however, there were a few groups gathering on the corner which were very vocal and somewhat threatening (not to us specifically, just in general). The noise machines helped a ton though! Other than the one issue that night (which I imagine was fairly random), everything was fantastic. The decor and feel of the Urban Rainbow is outstanding. Comfortable beds, amazing towels, washer/dryer. Would definitely stay there again.
We had a great stay at the Urban Rainbow. Manny and Megan were very friendly and considerate hosts. The apartment was clean and well outfitted. There was even a San Francisco guide book on the book shelf, which came in handy since we left ours at home.
This was our 2nd time at the Urban Rainbow and it was just as wonderful as the first. Great place, central location, wonderful and welcoming hosts. Highly recommended and I'm sure we will be returning in the future!
What a wonderful experience! Megan and Manny were both so kind and attentive. They made instructions for checking in and out very clear, and made sure to check halfway through our trip that we were happy.
The apartment is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and fully stocked with just about everything you need, including their very own guide-to-the-city! The photos from their travels are fascinating and make for really fun decor. Having a washer/dryer in the apartment ended up being extremely helpful (especially after my husband spilled Ghirardelli hot chocolate all over his khakis-- it felt like a very SF thing to do). They even provided earplugs and white noise machines for travelers not used to city sounds at night.
The location made getting everywhere very easy, and culturally was an interesting spot (tucked between Nob Hill and the Tenderloin, close to Chinatown). While perfectly safe and comfy during the day, it did get a little uncomfortable after dark, so I'd recommend not going out alone if you can help it. There are lots of little cafes and restaurants nearby (we loved Mymy for breakfast), and a Trader Joe's around the corner if you want to stock up the kitchen and do some cooking.
We had a fantastic experience in the Urban Rainbow and we HIGHLY recommend checking it out for your next stay in San Francisco!
Megan and Manny are very friendly and welcoming. They replied to the messages quickly and were helpful.
The neighborhood is very lively and so pretty loud, but has the convenience of being close to restaurants and everything you need.
It is very central, close to Union Square and Market Street. Close to Tenderloin as well, but we did not feel unsafe. Post street is a safe street.
The living room could be a bit more convivial. There is no coffee table and no speakers. The TV is in one of the bedrooms.
There is a nice terrace on the rooftop though, with table and chairs.
The kitchen is well equipped.
The wifi is fast.
The bathroom seems to have some plumbing problems.
The bedrooms are comfortable.
Thank you for the nice stay!
Megan and Manny are very hospitable. The apartment is exactly as the photos. The rooms are full of exotic atmosphere，especially the masks and the photos hanging on the wall. The place is not far from the union square and Japan town.
We had a great 4 night stay at the
Urban Rainbow. The apartment was very clean and exactly as described. Megan was extremely helpful before and during our stay, always available to answer questions and provide guidance.

Manny and I are avid travelers, above all else. We have traveled all over the world as a couple and independently. When we are at our home base in San Francisco, Airbnb allows us to travel from our living room, bringing guests from far reaches of the world. Here in San Francisco, I (Megan) am a full-time English teacher in San Francisco's juvenile hall. I also volunteer as a meditation teacher in the SF County Jail on the weekends. Manny, originally from the Andes in Merida, Venezuela, works at the Imaginary Foundation, a company that creates a clothing line that emphasizes artistry, philosophy and science. We have been happily married for four years and love introducing people to our amazing neighborhood and city. We hope to meet you in our living room!
