THANK YOU SO MUCH!
We had a great 4 night stay at the
Urban Rainbow. The apartment was very clean and exactly as described. Megan was extremely helpful before and during our stay, always available to answer questions and provide guidance.
Manny met us at the apartment (he had waited quite a while without complaint)
The place is cute and loved
Location - very central and downtown
We loved staying here and in fact extended our stay by a day
Manny even delivered property we left behind
However….as it is downtown - it is noisy
There are noise machines in both bedrooms, which we used
The only other thing I would have to comment on, which was unexpected, although being close to the Tenderloin and downtown was it? - was that there were 'working girls' on the corner right outside the apartment 2 nights of our stay - so I'm not sure I would recommend this place for kids
Otherwise it's a great stay
Thx Manny and Megan
Megan and Manny were wonderful hosts, right from when we booked. Their guide to the apartment and neighborhood was very informative, and Megan even left a note with some vegetarian restaurant suggestions, as she remembered that I had mentioned we were looking forward to a nearby vegan spot. Manny was waiting for us upon our arrival - he was very welcoming and showed us around the apartment, which was just wonderful. Extremely clean with a modern kitchen and bathroom (rare finds in SF!), and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Loved the comfy beds, fluffy towels and the little touches like ear plugs and white noise machines in each bedroom. The neighborhood can be a bit loud but the double-pane windows really blocked out a lot of the noise. Overall, our stay was fantastic and we will certainly be returning.
Me my sister and her boyfriend stayed in the Urban Rainbow in downtown SF this past weekend. The apartment is in a great location because it was so close to everything. There are Bart stops within 4-6 blocks of the apartment, plenty of restaurants and lots and lots of shopping!
Megan and Manny were wonderful and accommodated us on our late arrival. Megan checked in on us to make sure we didn't need anything and that we were comfortable. The apartment had everything we needed, which isn't much when you are spending a weekend having fun in SF.
The apartment location is on a busy street and there was a fire across the street from us the first night, which made for an interesting time. But all in all it gave my sister a real view of SF living on her first trip into the city. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others who want to visit the city and be close to everything. It is very unique with the colors of the rooms and the pictures from all around the world. We will definitely stay again if we need a place before we move to the city!
The description was accurate and our host(s) made us feel more than welcome. He showed us around when we first got there and answered any questions we had. He was very friendly and he also checked-in on us throughout our trip to make sure we were good to go.
I cannot thank Manny and Megan enough for all they have done for us while in San Francisco. Not only was the Urban Rainbow in a great location, but Manny and Megan did everything possible to make it a great stay. I would highly recommend them and the apartment.
Thank you guys again for your hospitality, we loved every moment of our time here.
Our stay at Urban Rainbow was so fantastic I can't even say. It started out by our kind, thoughtful hosts being super-cool when our arrival plans changed last minute. They couldn't have been more accommodating and kind. Then, when we arrived it felt like they were waiting and prepared for us, personally. We were in town for an event, and Megan had left us a very friendly note and she even left out a few books that were relevant for the event. It was just so welcoming. The apartment itself looks just like the photos, no surprises. Everything worked like it should, was perfectly clean and tidy, it even smelled fresh and nice which I'm irrationally picky about. The bed were comfy and there was plenty of closet space (the green room has a softer bed and the red room has a harder bed). The fridge - while on the smaller side- was SPOTLESS, the towels were new and fluffy (another thing I'm irrationally picky about) and the water pressure in the shower was great.
They put together a handbook that is very detailed, and even though I lived in SF for many years before moving to the 'burbs, I learned things I didn't know. Its that level of thought and care that made this a great place to stay.
Now, about the neighborhood - yep is very urban. And yeah maybe you don't want to wander too far south on Hyde, in the direction of the Tenderloin. That said, we were out at all hours, morning evening, even at 2 AM after the bars close and felt perfectly safe. And the urban-ness means there is a lot going on, lots to explore, so many places to walk to and eat or drink or browse shopping. The street noise didn't bother us at all, and we live in a very quiet suburb. The earplugs the hosts left, plus the white noise machine, and sleep was no problem.
I would definitely stay in Urban Rainbow again in the future. Thanks Megan and Manny for a wonderful visit to SF.

Manny and I are avid travelers, above all else. We have traveled all over the world as a couple and independently. When we are at our home base in San Francisco, Airbnb allows us to travel from our living room, bringing guests from far reaches of the world. Here in San Francisco, I (Megan) am a full-time English teacher in San Francisco's juvenile hall. I also volunteer as a meditation teacher in the SF County Jail on the weekends. Manny, originally from the Andes in Merida, Venezuela, works at the Imaginary Foundation, a company that creates a clothing line that emphasizes artistry, philosophy and science. We have been happily married for four years and love introducing people to our amazing neighborhood and city. We hope to meet you in our living room!
