One private room in an adorable neighborhood minutes from the vibrant streets of Mong Kok. The 2 bedroom apartment is on the 5th floor of a 1970's Chinese-style walk up. The room can accommodate two people comfortably and I am rarely around - it will feel like you have the place to yourself!
The apartment is walking distance to many of the great markets in Mong Kok (Ladies market, flower market, bird market, goldfish market, etc). There are plenty of cheap and cheerful restaurants, boutiques, and stores to buy whatever you forgot to bring with you! Tim Ho Wun, one of the cheapest Michelin star restaurants in the world, is just 5 minutes away.
There are 3 MTR stations (Mong Kok East, Mong Kok, and Yau Ma Tei) within a 10 minute walk and numerous buses. There is also a free Airport Express shuttle bus to and from Kowloon Station that stops just a couple blocks away.
The price is listed in USD. The room is best suited for 1-2 guests and I will let you know if I'll be out of town. The place is definitely bright and colorful, but not particularly kid-friendly. If you're planning to stay with a child, please discuss it with me first.
This apartment was in a great location within Mong Kok with easy access either on foot or by train to most locations we wanted to visit in and around Hong Kong on all 3 islands. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities we needed. However, wifi was promised and this was one of the reasons we picked this place to stay. When we got there we had trouble getting into the building and then no wifi for the duration of our stay. We wanted to plan our days and needed this. Unfortunately we had to go to starbucks every day, which thankfully was across the road. But still this was not how we wanted to spend our time in Hong Kong.
This review will be positive and negative so bear with me.
The apartment building itself is quite old and run down, exposed electrical wiring, building security gate keypad decided not to work half way through and for the remainder of our stay and locked us out. The first time it happened we assumed the third key on our key ring was for the bedroom door so at that stage did not try it on the gate lock. We had to buzz some random room at midnight to be let in. I deduct no stars for this because it is out of the hosts control.
It is probably worth making it clear in the description that while on the 5th floor there is no elevator. Which I knew by reading someone's complaint in the reviews. For this reason I think the room unsuited for some if you don't wish to carry your luggage up five levels of stairs. Again as I knew this prior to booking I deduct no stars, but I would suggest making it clearer in description for others.
The internet stopped working half way through our 13 day stay and remained not working for the remainder, over a week. When I told Erica she said she phoned the internet provider. I don't think it was an internet provider problem, nowhere in the world does an internet company cease functioning for more than 24 hours, there would be riots! I would not be surprised if it was due to shoddy wiring in the building. The only other thing I could think of was an unpaid bill, though I will not accuse her of that.
Erica offered to set her phone as a wifi hotspot, though that is not a solution as on the rare occasion when she was at the place she was already in bed and when we were there she was out.
I genuinely do not want to because Erica was a nice person but I must deduct stars for no internet and little done to try to fix it.
The apartment itself is good and clean as seen in the photos. The location is good. Erica is friendly.
I had a great stay at Erica's place in Hongkong. Her apartment was the perfect place to come home to, after a long day out in the vibrant streets of Hongkong! Though Erica had a busy schedule she always found the time for a chat, to give advise where to find this and that. Thank you Erica!
Erica's apartment is roomy and well located to many tourist sites. Her instructions and information about the apartment, getting there, getting in and getting around were clear and helpful. She was "in residence" during my stay and we had a lovely conversation and glass of wine when we did cross paths.
Comfy bed and warm shower. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, MTR. I would highly recommend staying there.
Thank you Erica.
Great location, easy to get everywhere. Information provided by Erica was thorough and useful , so no problems finding the apartment or travelling around the area. Erica is a friendly and cheerful hostess making it easy to share her apartment with her.

didn't meet with erica but we communicated over SMS and email. place was nice and spacious. very good location as advertised with many services and local attractions nearby. yes there is no lift but that should be expected in this part of hk. it's a bit hidden so getting there might be difficult. she also provided a list of places to visit.
The stay with Erica in Mong Kok was great. We arrived earlier than we expected, but checking in early was not a problem. We didn't see Erica much, but she was friendly, helpful and easygoing. The appartment was fine too, with a good bathroom, a little kitchen and we had our own little bedroom. We really liked the neighboorhood too! I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Great place to stay in HK! Erica was super helpful and her recommendations, especially for various restaurants, made our trip much more enjoyable.
Erica was a very friendly host, full of suggestions and very easy to talk to. The apartment was well-furnished, clean and conveniently located.
My stay to Erica's appartment was up to my hope .Very clean and very welcoming . I felt as I were at home . The appartment is very well situated and safely. I just have seen Erica for my arrival , it was late but she was very friendly..Despite of her absence ( she worked ) , she let me paper messages. I really recommend Erica's appartment.
