Maidensea House is a luxurious 8 ensuite bedroom holiday home, designed to accommodate sixteen people. From the moment you arrive, you will relax into the panoramic sea views. Situated in an outstanding elevated position in the peaceful village of Maidencombe, just 500 metres from the beach, by the South West Coast Path and a short walk to the delightful village pub. A cinema room, indoor swimming pool and a games complex for table tennis and pool, provide year-round indoor entertainment.

The space
Suited to groups and extended families looking for a sumptuous seaside getaway, the idyllic house has been completely refurbished.

A cinema room, together with a bespoke indoor heated swimming pool and a separate games complex for table tennis and pool, provide year-round indoor entertainment options, while landscaped gardens offer suntrap seating and terraces looking out to sea.

The new open plan kitchen is packed with appliances to rustle up a gourmet dinner with 3 Neff ovens, warming drawer and microwave, Smeg induction hob, 2 dishwashers, 2 Frankie sinks, fridge and breakfast bar.

Eat in style around the bespoke designer 16 seat dining table. Fancy a glass of fizz? There are two wine fridges along with a drinks prep area in the dining space before chilling in the living area to socialise around the 4 comfy sofas taking in the seaview. Or head to the cinema room and watch a film on the mega 85” TV with surround sound.

Heading upstairs, there are 7 double bedrooms on this floor all with en suites. Each bedroom is unique, each bathroom special. All have White Company towels and linens.

Four bedrooms have fabulous sea views and three bedrooms have garden/courtyard views.

All bathrooms have been individually designed and are fitted with digital rain showers, vanity units and fabulous porcelain tiles. Bathrooms 4 & 6 have doubled ended baths.

Bedrooms 4 & 5 are interconnected whilst bedrooms 1,3,5 can be configured as super-king or twin and bedroom 7 as king or twin.

Back downstairs, there is an accessible ground floor bedroom and shower room which can also be configured as a super-king or twin.

With ample gated parking , the house and grounds have been thoughtfully designed for ease of access suitable for wheelchair/pram users.

Eco-friendly credentials include underfloor heating and an array of solar panels.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of its exceptional coastline, Maidencombe is a peaceful, picturesque village, nestled in a dramatic setting of woodland, paths, thatched cottages with a cosy pub at its centre.

On our doorstep is the South West coast path and national trail. There are many spectacular walks from the house with Devon’s famous views in all directions. On a clear day you can see from Dartmoor to Lyme Bay.

Maidencombe beach is 500 metres from the house and is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing day. The water quality is excellent and its safe for swimming and has brilliant rock pooling for all the family. A local resident runs coasteering adventures and boat safaris from the village.

The village has The Thatched Tavern pub whose relaxed cosy atmosphere is a friendly place to enjoy local food and drink. There is also Orestone Manor, a fine dining restaurant, both within walking distance from the house.

The fishing and seaside village of Shaldon is 2 miles away with several pubs (often with music), restaurants and cafes to enjoy. Shaldon beach is ideal for swimming, sailing, rowing, paddling and rock pool exploring. All ages will enjoy Shaldon Wildlife Trust Zoo or the pitch and putt golf course.

From here, you can take a foot ferry (the oldest passenger ferry in England) to Teignmouth to enjoy more beaches, cafes and restaurants. The children will be entertained by the pier, play park with its many adventures, crazy golf or skate park. It is the perfect place to hire a boat, windsurf, kayak or paddleboard to enjoy the water. On the outskirts of Teignmouth is an 18 hole golf course.

The quaint country village of Stokeinteignhead is a mile away with its historic Church House Inn at the heart of the village. A further mile away is Combeinteignhead, famous for the 17th century Wild Goose Inn, serving the best of Devon with real ales on tap. By the estuary in Combeinteignhead is the waterfront Coombe Cellars pub & restaurant which is the perfect destination for unrivalled views of the River Teign.

Newton Abbot racecourse hosts 19 meets per year and is a must for horseracing fans or a fun day out for all.

Dartmoor national park is the perfect day out. Covering almost 1,000 kms it really does have something for everyone; rambling over Tors, wild swimming at Spitchwich, cycling up challenging hills or exploring castle ruins
and learning about local legends on guided walks.

Haldon forest is less than a 30 minute drive away. Here you are able to hire mountain bikes or segways, enjoy the forest woodland walks or for the braver amongst us Go Ape challenges and adventures are fantastic experiences for all the family.

From the house on the way to Torquay, is the Babbacombe model village, a miniature world that captures the imagination of all ages! Onto Torquay, at the heart of the English Riviera, enjoy walking alongside the marina or watch the sailing in the bay from one of the many waterside cafes and restaurants. You can take a fishing trip on one of the many commercial boats or just go crabbing on the harbour wall. The Princess theatre hosts many productions from west end theatre to comedians and bands. Nightlife offers bars, clubs and a casino. Ferries regularly run to the fishing village of Brixham.

Further onto Paignton, are more beaches and Paignton Zoo with over 2,000 animals. From Paignton station, you can board the Dartmouth steam railway where you can take a trip along the scenic coast to the stunning historic town of Dartmouth. It is situated on the banks of the River Dart and is rich in maritime heritage with its vibrant harbour. Nearby is Woodlands theme park which will entertain the younger children of your party.
