  • There's nothing like the view you'll get at this fabulous studio. It's central to any and all awesome things on the island (star parties in Mauna Kea, peeking at the Volcano, going to a Luau in Kona, etc.). Ed & George communicate and respond quickly as well. We overall had a super relaxing time here and loved exploring the little beaches just down the road from this spot.

Please come back in the near future, you are welcomed any time. Mahalo for being such a gracious (website hidden) , the Moths are all gone..... so sorry we missed that ceiling light fixture!!

  • Lovely spot. The large studio is clean, spacious and exactly as it appears in the photo. The kitchen is fully equipped. The large balcony really is beautiful, with a lovely, unobstructed view of lush vegetation and the ocean. Many animals to see, including geckos, chickens, turkeys and mongooses and many birds. Beautiful sunsets every night. It is a good location from which to explore the Big Island, but is also away from the tourist buzz. There is no traffic noise at all but be prepared for the sound of tree frogs at night. They get pretty loud! Highly recommend.

  • What a fantastic place! George was a wonderful host who made us feel welcomed and right at home. The studio was clean and well stocked with everything we needed in the way of bedding, towels, sunscreen, pots and pans, etc. As for the location, it is about as ideal as you can imagine. There is an expansive ocean view making for beautiful sunsets, acres if fruit and Mac but trees, Kona coffee plantations nearby, and world class snorkeling just 5 minutes down the road. We very much enjoyed our time here and would recommend it in a heartbeat!

  • Very nice semi-secluded studio, incredible view, well furnished, a bit aged but clean!
We spent five days here with my wife and 15 months girl.
We are picky about matress and usually have a hard time with that, but we thought this one was excellent!
Nice to go to sleep with the sounds of insects and frogs... Also a bunch of wild rooster that don't wait dawn to make some noise!
One of the best snorkeling spot is a 10 min drive, and we were fortunate enough to meet some dolphins there.
We'd definitely love to come back!

  • Aloha! We just loved staying in George and Edward's perfect studio apartment. George met us on the road to make sure we got to our place with no problems, led us into the bright apartment with an amazing view of 2-Step (famous snorkling beach) and the expansive Pacific ocean. We were thrilled to be there. Fresh flowers and fruit from the farm filled the place with wonderful aromas and energy. The hosts were extremely attentive and supportive and responded to our questions/needs with ease. It was an easy place to cook, easy place to work, easy place to sleep, and wonderful place to use as a base for our daily trips to the ocean. We would love to be able to stay here again.

  • This studio was the perfect spot for us to start our journey through Hawai'i. When we arrived late at night, it was no problem at all to enter the studio. It has a fully equipped kitchen, which was very important for us as we like to cook for ourselves. The view from the balcony is priceless! We loved to eat breakfast in the morning or to see the sunset in the evening. And as it gets cool in the evenings, it was just perfect to sleep. We never had to use the air con.
As for Edward and George, they were very very friendly, nice and answered all our questions right away. We felt welcome from the first second on. We met Edward once and he was very generous and communicative.
We recommend to stay at the studio to everybody who loves the nature of Hawai'i. Mahalo!

  • The Hale Koa studio fit my needs perfectly. It was so roomy and had everything I needed. Plus, you couldn't beat the sunsets from the lanai! The rural setting was so peaceful (note to future guests: if you're a light sleeper, the crowing of the roosters might warrant a pair of earplugs) and I enjoyed being away from the activity of the touristy areas. The location was great for getting around the south end to the Volcano National Park, as well as north for beaches, snorkeling, and kayaking. I met Edward when I arrived, and he was very helpful with my questions. Maybe next time, I'll get to meet George:) Thank you both for a lovely stay!

  • Absolutely fantastic stay here! We seriously couldn't have asked for more. Blissfully peaceful yet only a short drive (or walk!) from some amazing beaches. This is a place for people who don't want the hotel resort experience but instead want to be immersed in the Island's natural beauty.
The apartment itself has all you would need and is very cleverly laid out. We loved the welcome we received and thought the accommodation as a whole thoroughly enhanced our vacation. Thank you so much Ed and George for letting us share your piece of paradise. We hope to be back.
