About this listing
1 bedroom / 1 bath fully equipped apartment in the heart of downtown Memphis, walking distance from city attractions, restaurants, shops, and nightlife.
The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, a penthouse, and handicap accessible units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.
The apartments provide a homey feel with a personal touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view.
Situated at an unbeatable location, our apartments are great for a weekend getaway. Let yourself be inspired by the view and invigorated by the bustling and lively neighborhood. Rest up in our comfortable abodes and make sure to spend enough time exploring the giant playground that is the City of Memphis.

Interaction with Guests
Due to the increased interest in my apartments, I have hired on additional staff to help ensure a pleasant stay for my guests. I travel often, so I have a front desk staff with keys to all of my units so that you can check in at any time of the day with ease. The front desk also has access to the apartment maintenance and housekeeping crews between 9a and 9p daily. When I am in town, I try my best to meet and interact with all of the guests who stay in my apartments. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and host you!
Located in the heart of downtown Memphis, you will be walking distance from most attractions, restaurants, live music, and beautiful parks.
Almost everything worth seeing is within walking distance of our building. The world famous Beale Street is a short 7-8 minute walk away.
Uber is very active in Memphis. This is a great option for shopping and outings further away!
On Main Street, there is a trolley that can take you to all of the wonderful restaurants and shops at South Main (or anywhere along Main that you would like to go!).
There is also a public transit bus stop on our corner and the city's cabs will also provide transportation from here!
Other Things to Note
While this is a pet friendly building, please inform me prior to arriving should you plan to bring a pet. Thank you!
This building houses many other residents. Please be courteous and keep excessive noise to a minimum throughout your stay.
Smoking is not permitted in any of my airbnb apartments. Evidence of smoking, candles, or incense will incur a fee for cleaning.
The room itself is beautiful and great for the price. The only downside is the temperature. Even with the two air conditioning units on, the bedroom is still very warm. But apart from that, a great stay.
This airbnb listing is a good deal. The apartment is nicely appointed and in the heart of historic memphis. The front desk person was very helpful upon check in and i found the accomodations to be excellent. Inwould recommend this to anyone whobwants to be close to the entertainment district as beale street was only a five minute walk. The building is quite attractive and historic. It has been fully renovated. Its a much better deal than you would get at a motel.
The place was exactly as pictured. It was lovely & clean & had everything we needed. The bed was firm if that's what you like & the bedding was clean. Nicer than staying in a hotel. It was only about a 12min walk to Beale St & Sardor was an easy host to deal with.
The overall experience was good. The check-in with the front desk was smooth and it seems like a mix between an apartment building and a hotel. Which was interesting and not a deterrent at all. Much more pleasant than the local Motel 6.
The building was very easy to get to. When we arrived and checked in the lady at the front desk was very sweet. Loved the luggage cart that was so convient. The place was old but was nice. The hall did smell kinda weird but i understand its a old building. For the price the place was nice. Not sure if i would stay again i would like some place a little newer.
Sardor's space is very pleasant and he was extremely communicative! We enjoyed the short walk to many "hot spots" that we were interested in visiting and also the quaintness of the building and room. The room was very clean and we felt very comfortable. We cannot wait to visit Memphis and stay again!
Sardor greeted us and gave great suggestions for dinner and entertainment. The apartment was exactly as pictured, very clean and comfortable. The parking suggestions were very helpful.

About the Host, Sardor
I was born in Uzbekistan and raised in Memphis. I'm the middle child, with 2 older brothers and 2 younger sisters -- and recently a 5 time uncle! I've been fortunate to travel the world in my early years and learned a lot about the different cultures around the world. I enjoy learning about geopolitical history, architecture, and technological advancements that benefit the myriad societies around the globe. To me, Memphis is an exciting city that competes with the great cities of the world as a worthwhile stop for play and leisure. Allow me to host you in my apartments, located in the historic Exchange Building in downtown Memphis.
UPDATE: Due to the increased traffic, I hired additional help to make the check-in process more convenient for my guests. The lobby now has a staffed Front Desk, where you will be able to get any assistance, should you need it (24/7). I hope to see you while you're in Memphis, but I do travel a lot and sometimes I miss out on meeting my guests personally. I hope you have a wonderful stay at The Exchange and please don't hesitate to contact me via Airbnb should you need anything.
