About This Listing
A sunny and spacious Brooklyn studio in the fun and chill Ditmas Park neighborhood. Lots of nearby restaurants, access to Prospect Park, loads of trees and a subway station just two minutes away.
My Ditmas Park studio is available for short-term rentals. It's on the 4th floor of an elevator building literally two minutes away from the Q train at the Cortelyou Road stop, it's a 7 minute walk to the B express train at Newkirk, or an simple cross-the-platform transfer from the Q two stops away.
As long as two people can share the bed, the studio is a good size for 1-3 people. The living area is approximately 12' x 30' (approximately 33.5 square meters). There's a nice couch that folds out, a queen-sized bed, table, desk and plenty of room to walk around, a clean bathroom, and a closet to hang your clothes, if needed. The kitchen is separate and has all necessary dishes and appliances. There's wireless internet, a TV + DVD player and a Roku box (sorry, no cable, but lots of access to television and movies streaming online via amazon or netflix). The building is safe and quiet, the residents are primarily families. A laundromat is just a minute away on the corner of 16th and Cortelyou.
Ditmas Park is a great neighborhood. Diverse and residential, it has lots of trees and is close to Prospect Park. Cortelyou road is the main drag and is definitely one of the most up-an-coming neighborhoods in Brooklyn. There are a number of really great restaurants within 10 minute walk from the apartment. For self-catering there's the food co-op, two groceries, wine shops, a few bodegas on the same few blocks as well. The Q takes 10 minutes to get to Atlantic Avenue and exactly 25 minutes to get to Union Square. With the B you can be at West Fourth Street in under 30 minutes, that train does not run on the weekends or weeknights after 10:00pm, however.
For the size and location the studio is a great price. Please let me know if you have any questions.
You have access to a full kitchen, bathroom, books, TV and internet
Interaction with Guests
I or a friend will meet you at the apartment. I like to check in occasionally to make sure that everything is OK. I'm always accessible by phone or email.
Ditmas Park is fantastic and more than just up-and-coming. There are a dozen really great restaurants just minutes away, a few fun bars and cafes as well as laundry and groceries right down the block. The Q and B trains run here and get you to other parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan very conveniently.
The Q train is literally two minutes from the front door. You can take that directly to central Manhattan or transfer to the B train to get other places within Manhattan. If you have a car, you can easily find parking nearby or even on the same block.
Getting here from the airport can be done with the subway or a taxi.

We stayed at Amir's den in Brooklyn for three days in April 2015. The place is exactly like it looks in the posted pictures and specifically the abundance of light that comes in during the day is quite amazing. Amir was a fabulous host - though we didn't meet, he ensured to send clear instructions on where what is, what to do, what not to do, where to buy groceries or food from, etc. He was always accessible and ensured to keep in touch till we left. We were three of us staying and the place is ideal for such a group - the double bed comfortably sleeps two and the other foldable bed is in fact super comfortable for one as well. The television and Internet setup was amazing, so was the collection of books, knick knacks and pictures from across the world. The place is a 2 min walk from the Metro station and ensures easy access. Thank god for the lift in the building as well, considering our very large suitcases! It was a fabulous experience and I'd recommend to anybody looking for a place in Brooklyn.
Everything in this studio conforms to the pictures provided by the host - it's clean and full of light, zoning is accurate, which contributes to perception of space and volume and leaves you unconstricted. The room is maintained in excellent manner, with love and attention to details. I have been enjoying staying there with my family for a week.
The neighborhood is mixed, and no evident challenges were detected even at night.
Every contact with Amir, the host, was pleasant, easygoing and efficient. I'm very grateful for his hospitality and attention.
I can recommend this apartment for everyone.
We had a very pleasant stay at Amir's place. There was plenty of room for three and the flat is very light and warm -quite enjoyable in winter ! The Q train is literally five seconds away and although ditmas park may be a bit further away from Manhattan than some other parts of Brooklyn it is a very different part of New York that is worth the visit. Amir made it very easy for us to get the keys and was always helpful.
A very good experience overall !
We stayed at Amir's studio for 10 days. The studio is very nice, full of amazing books (we loved the urban art of Tehran), interesting pics on walls, wooden floor, comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, big dining table and comfy sofa. During day it gets hot inside (our stay was at the end of August), but the fans and A/C are very potent and the temperature gets to normal quickly. The building has elevator, it is clean and the neighbours we met were all nice. Prospect Park is very convenient for a morning run, one can get there also by metro in 10 mins and jog back through the nice victorian style streets around Marlborough. The Cortelyou area is safe, with cafes, pharmacy, supermarkets. Cortelyou metro station is around the corner, trains are frequent and one gets to centre of Manhattan in 30 mins. We did not meet Amir in person, but he arranged everything in a convenient way. The communication was fast and Amir is a really nice host!
The apartment was absolutely lovely. Comfortable and full of character. The building was surprisingly quiet and also very friendly. Amir was great with communication, providing ample information about the apartment and checking in to make sure things were going well. The neighborhood was great. I loved the cafe down the block as well as the Tibetan restaurant.
Since the first contact, Amir was very friendly! He answered all my questions and made sure that everything was fine!
The apartment is just like the descriptions! There I found everything I needed to stay comfortable! Also, was really easy to got around (since the subway station is very close). The place is perfect for two people!
I really enjoyed my stay there, and recommend the place for everyone!
A pleasant apartment in a good location in Brooklyn, with the best connections by subway and bus to Manhattan, Coney Island and many other interesting places in Brooklyn. In summer, because of the beautiful big window, it can be very warm in the apartment. Following the precise instructions of Amir, how fans and air conditioning are to use, we had the temperatures fairly well under control and spent in June / July an exciting month in New York. The apartment has everything it needs to live and the communication with Amir via e-mail and Skype worked fine. Thank's a lot, Amir.
