Interaction with Guests
I do not live in the building but i do always come to the apartment to get the room ready for our guests. I like to make sure that all is clean and that the guest is satisfied. I have a 24 hour check-in system in place to accommodate any late check-ins or any guests that are a bit late. you can reach via mobile phone or AirBnB message at any time, please don't hesitate :)
I used to run my guest house on this very street, so i should know the area very well. The flat is right in the heart of London so it is difficult to pick out any one place in particular that you must visit. But for eating out my favourite is Old Compton Street, one of the most renowned places in London to serve dinner til late at night. The British Museum is at the heart of Bloomsbury, a mere walking distance away from the apartment. Historically, Bloomsbury is associated with the education, medicine and mostly, the art. Therefore the area sets a sophisticated yet very modern atmosphere. The Bloomsbury theatre, a very respected theatre within the eyes of Londoners and actors/actresses alike; is located within the area.
Attractions like Oxford and Soho are easily accessible through public transport as the flat is so close to it anyway.
Locals to the area are spoil for choice with restaurants, bars and clubs being within feet of each other. The location is amazing! Come visit and experience London in its full beauty for yourself :)
The closest tube stations are Tottenham Court Road (Central and Northern line) and Holborn (Victoria and Central line, both are a 5 minute walk away.
No smoking inside the premises.
No pets allowed inside the apartments.
No parties to keep the apartments clean please.
I booked an apartment from Maggie somewhat last minute on a Saturday evening. Even so, she was quick to respond and assisted getting all of the info I needed to get to the place and get up into the room.
The place is perfect for 1 or 2 London goers, and is a great spot to go home to after an evening of exploring the city. It's close to transportation and has plenty of food and coffee shops nearby. It's really a great place to be located, and has good wifi. There could be a problem for those who struggle climbing relatively steep stairs, otherwise, you'll love the place.
I checked out an hour or two later than anticipated, and Maggie assured me it was no problem, which I appreciate. All in all a great place to stay with a really private feeling.
All communication with Maggie was clear, easy and accurate. Maggie was away when I stayed but Peter welcomed me and carried my bag upstairs which was very helpful. He did the same when I left which I appreciated. The studio is in a marvellous location near the British museum and I could walk to Covent Garden in a few minutes. The neighbourhood is quiet.
The studio has a good sized bedroom and kitchen. The bathroom is small but quite adequate. I was very comfortable. The kitchen has both a microwave and cooker and particularly useful was the washer/dryer.
No meeting with host, only instructions to obtain key.
Flat is fairly clean, furniture is basic. Double bed is actually two single beds pushed together. Bathroom was a cupboard with shower over the toilet. Found hair on wall and toothpaste on shower curtain from previous occupants. Only minimal oddments of crockery/glasses in kitchen and was chipped. Flat is conveniently located near tube, British museum and easy access to other areas of London. Only a few restaurants nearby for the evening, will need to walk to places like Covent Garden for a good choice. No contact with host during stay.
Sorry to see you were to happy at all, I bought this Shower unit from France , shower Cartin separets the shower to toilet , Ref Resturent there are close to he , you only need to sakes me on thus massage Strip, Covent gardes is only less then 10 min walk,
Sorry I was away could not meet you personaly , Sure hope meet next time ,kind regards Maggie,
I didn't meet Maggie but I did meet her friend Pete and he was very very kind and accommodating and giving. Husband and I both really liked him
Location is good, 10-15 minute walk to soho and covenant gardens, if that's what your are interested to see in London
London process are very expensive, nut this place was especially expensive. We stayed for 3 nights and ended up paying $650. That's comparable to Joel ratings, and my husband and I truly didn't feel the price was with it. The bed was very very comfortable, but it was two beds combined to one. The bathroom felt like a portable bathroom because that's what it essentially looked like. When we originally saw the moving it said it was $150 per night so we weed up paying $200 more, it was totally my responsibility because I should've paid more Attention. Also showers get cold after 10-15 minutes of usage. There is a laundry machine but no detergent and you have to know how to use the model (not like Americans, Pete came and helped), no little nice essentials like toothpaste and body wash
Otherwise, nice towels and comforter, good internet access, good communication, good location if soho and convenant gardens and busy busy touristy area is what you are looking for, very plain home but accurately depicted on the pictures, but super expensive to the point that it leaves you somewhat disappointed. But still, with a lower price, I'd recommend it.
apartment was very central to all tourist attractions/ metro stations. apartment is clean and as per described. Nice and spacious. We were very happy overall.
Lovely location. Very comfortable bed, large thick towels. Well served by buses snd the tube. Peter was very helpful. 3 flights of stairs, may not be for everyone but you can't beat the location.
What a great place! Just steps from the British Museum, with a big bedroom and a very large (for London!) kitchen. I would definitely stay in Maggie's apartment again.
