Clean, luxurious and spacious room in an apartment in the hills of Bogota. The apartment is relatively new, and the view to the city, day and night, is simply unforgettable (guaranteed!).
The room has a television set (20") with Directv and a view to the mountains of Bogota. The bathroom (with shower) is shared with another room which is empty at least 15 days a month.
Guests are allowed to use the kitchen and common facilities. Wifi internet is also available. A cleaning lady comes (email hidden) location of the city near both downtown and the north of Bogota by unexpensive cab ride (USD 4 either way). Public transportation by bus is just a few blocks away: 5-minute walk to Carrera 7, one of the main avenues of Bogota.
Chapinero Alto is one of the safest neighbourhoods in town and has plenty of good restaurants, supermarkets and gyms. All of them are walking distance from the apartment.
Guests should expect privacy and good company.
My name is Nicolás, I am Colombian, and I have lived in 7 countries so far. I love spending time with foreigners as I have been a foreigner myself many times (I do know what it means to have no clue about your whereabouts!)
Nicolás has been an excellent host. He's friendly, easy to get along with, and he was very helpful in making sure that I had everything that I needed. The apartment is exactly as described.
I spent 6 weeks at Nicolas' apartment and had a pleasant stay overall. The apartment is well-located, however as it is on the mountainside, access by foot requires a lot of climbing. Public transport, shops and restaurants are about 10-15mins walking distance. The neighbourhood generally felt safe, but at night taxis are recommended (like anywhere else in Bogota).
The apartment is well-kept and cleaned once a week. The bedroom and general house amenities were fairly basic but as my stay was short, this wasn't too much of an issue. The wi-fi was fast and reliable, however the hot water in the shower was less so.
As hosts, I would say that Nicolas and his family are respectful of their guests' privacy. Their home is ideal for short-term travellers who want to experience Bogota from a local's perspective.
Nicolas's place is ideal. It's in the best neighborhood, not only is it safe, but it is easy to get to anywhere in the city from the apartment. While we were there I had lost a key while we were out, but Nicolas and his brother were quick to help. In total we stayed with Nicolas for 2 months while we finished some classes in Candelaria. His place was convenient, clean, and comfortable. Because we stayed so long, we also (email hidden) a lot, since we didn't want to eat out 3 times a day. There are many grocery stores and shops nearby. While you are there you should try Mini-mal, they have a restaurant and bakery within a 5 minute walk from the apartment, both are excellent! A highly recommend staying at Nicolas's place.
Absolute pleasure staying with Nicolas. He was so welcoming and friendly and opened up his house to me. Spotlessly clean, very central to everything, amazing views. I couldn't have had a nicer stay. Thanks again Nicolas.
The apartment is great!, Nicolas is a very nice, flexible and helpful guy, who understands the needs of his guests. Highly recommended!!
Nicolás is an excellent host. The apartment was really clean, he was always very friendly and helpful. This guy really knows Bogotá.
