The space
Fish, swim, go boating or just sit on the huge veranda and take in the sites! We are five minutes from Memphis and all it has to offer!

My husband and I love our 400 acre lake just outside the Memphis city limits. We explore it with our Lab named Neptune every day. Great fishing and swimming! Or you can just sit on the veranda and enjoy the view with a glass of wine! Everyday is like a vacation. We are empty nesters with the entire main level of the house available for your use. Two bedrooms are on the guest level, each with an attached bathroom.

The master bedroom on the main level of the house is very spacious, with its own en suite bath and view of the lake. A large leather chair with an ottoman in the room could serve as a bed for a child or baby. This room has a queen sized bed. It also has a mini fridge, flat screen TV. Ironing board and iron, hair dryer and all possible toiletries you could need.

A huge varieties of restaurants are within 2-3 miles. The Wolfchase mall and fabulous shopping is 5 miles away!

Memphis is 3 miles away with all that Beale street and the Blues has to offer on the great Mississippi River. Visit the home of Elvis Presley, the Gibson guitar factory/store/museum or the Civil Rights Museum, or travel South to the Delta for the real birthplace of the blues.

The party boat is always ready to go for a fun time on the lake or a sunset cruise.

The larger of the two bedrooms lease for $85 per night. Small children and dogs can be discussed on a case by case basis.

Guests will have access to the entire main level of the house. This includes kitchen, family room, Bar-B-Q porch and veranda. You may park 10 feet from the front entry in the circular driveway. You have a private entrance.

We tend to let the guests decide how much interaction they want. Some guests we rarely or never see. Some we have wonderful times sharing stories while they are here and remain great friends on Facebook.

The beauty of the lake and wildlife all around the lake make for a relaxing way to end a day touring all that Memphis has to offer. It's a VERY safe place to live, raise a family, or retire. It's just close enough to Memphis to have the best of both worlds!

No public transit into Memphis from our house. Car rental is pretty much a necessity.

As a retired teacher with a great appreciation of individuals that enjoy expanding their horizons through travel, we have always welcomed travelers in our home in Tennessee as well as our vacation home in Navarre, Florida. My husband is a retired judge and a private pilot. We live on a 400 acre lake and spend every afternoon exploring it with our rescue pup, Olive. The fishing is great as well as the swimming! Beale Street, the Elvis mansion and all that Memphis has to offer is 20 minutes away. As empty nesters we have a lot of spare room. We have a large veranda overlooking the lake where we relax, eat, or just enjoy the view with a glass of wine. The boat is always just steps away if we want some wind in our hair. We have a second "Vacation" home in Navarre Florida where you will find the most beautiful beaches in the world! Both homes are listed on Airbnb. The Memphis home can host two people and the Florida house can host up to 8.
