  • We had an absolutely fantastic stay in Tara & Nate's apartment.
The apartment was beautiful and extremely comfortable, even our girls wished we could stay there forever!
The location was ideal. Right in the middle of great restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, shopping and Stanley Park!!
The folder put together by Tara listing where to go and what to do was so comprehensive that a tourist bureau couldn't have done a better job.
When we next travel to Vancouver, we will definitely want to stay here again.

  • Thisi is a great condo in a wonderful neighborhood. We hope it will be available when we go back to Vancouver in the spring. We cannot imagine what you would want if this does not delight you. Tara and Nate are. A young couple that you wish well to. They are such delights.

  • Staying at Tara and Nate's apartment was great. The place was clean, neat, stylish and welcoming and looked just as it did in the photos. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone stay there - I wish I had another reason to visit Vancouver!

  • My friends and I just had an amazing time in Vancouver while staying at Tara & Nate's place. Part of what made the trip so great was the location. The West End of Vancouver is arguably the most vibrant neighborhood in Vancouver, and they are right in the middle of it: Close to all the best restaurants (Japanese, Korean, Indian...), and very close to Stanley Park, of course. Our hosts had 2 bicycles for loan (no need to rent bikes and helmets), and it was great to hop on a bike in the morning and ride around the seawall or venture into the interior of the park to explore the many trails. My favorite bike ride is to go around the seawall and then hang out at "third beach" (my favorite beach) for some sun, reading, and relaxing.

But, the best part of our stay was Tara as our host and the apartment itself. Tara was so helpful in suggesting things to do in Vancouver before our trip, and was very responsive in her replies. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable, and makes you feel at home. It was a great home base to explore the city from. The patio was very nice to sit at while waking up with a cup of coffee, or gathering in the evening. There is also a well put-together house manual that tells you all you need to know about the apartment and the neighborhood.

Thanks Tara and Nate for being such great hosts and for sharing your Vancouver home!

  • Tara and Nate's apartment was amazing, it was in a great neighbourhood in Vancouver and made our first trip to this city so easy and enjoyable, its close to everything and there are so many places to eat.
The apartment was very homely and stylish and had everything we needed. We found the detailed information book and all of the brochures so helpful.
Thanks again Tara and Nate for a wonderful stay, we would definitely stay again if we are ever back in Vancouver.

  • Thank you Tara & Nate for a fantastic apartment to call home while visiting Vancouver. The use of the parking garage and bikes were very generous. We look forward to our next visit back to Vancouver and will definitely request your apartment. The location could not of been more convenient.

  • Thanks Tara for a wonderful stay in your home. The apartment is in a fantastic location and central to everything which is really handy. We could walk everywhere and just leave the car in the secured underground parking without having to worry. We didn't get a chance to take your bikes out but it was great to know that they were available to us. Thanks again!

  • Tara, just a few word to let you know how gratefull we are to have spent time for our vacation in your home.

Summer vacations arevery important to our family. I try to choose the right places to stay so we can be confortable and feel a bit like home. By choosing your very elegant home, we were more then pleased.

All the little attentions were more than appreciated. Your home is located in a neighborhoud where we can access easely all nice places to visit in Vancouver. The beds are comfy and the deco is terrific. We followed your recommandations and went a few time to Momo's. Also went to Gastown restaurant, Chill Winston.

Did a wonderfull bicycle trip around Stanley Park with your bikes, visited the big Library downtown ( one of my dauthers and I love libraries), saw the fireworks of English bay. We shopped a bit on Robson and went to Grainville Island.

We took your advice and went to get our groceries at Whole Food Market ( good muffins ).

Again Tara, thank you for everything. We did not met but I am really greatfull of being able to spent time with my family in your home.

Please contact me if you come in our part of the country, I will be more then happy to recommend some nice places to visit.

  • We stayed in Tara & Nate apartment. It was the first time we used Airbnb and are very satisfied with it. The location is just second to none. We selected the apartment for its location as we knew quite well Vancouver (we used to live there for a while). The apartment is just perfectly situated between Robson (shopping), Denman (restaurants), English Bay, Stanley Park, Coal Harbour, Granville, etc. You can just walk to all these parts of town. The apartment is very well decorated, very clean and comfortable, very convenient (TV, parking, bikes ) and has everything you would need. It is also very quiet. I believe that we are quite demanding, and were almost surprised by the quality of the rental and furnitures. We will definitely return to Tara & Nate apartment and for once, the pictures fully reflect the place.

Tara (Occupational Therapist) & Nate (Owner of a Hockey Development Company)
About
About Us... We are a laid back, adventurous Canadian couple that loves our city just about as much as we love backpacking around the world. We know the value of meeting new people by sharing our home with others...had Tara not opened her home to sublet her place to Nate 4 years ago, they most certainly would not be married with a beautiful baby boy today. Nate, born in Manitoba, has lived in numerous cities as a professional hockey player in the US and Europe (where he became fluent in German, Swiss German and French)! Nate now owns a hockey development company with his brother (another airbnb host) who lives in Washington, DC. He primarily runs hockey camps for kids and adults all over the world, as well as consults with various hockey associations and academies in the greater Vancouver area. He even developed an App for hockey coaches! Nate loves being self-employed and is proud to have never worked a "9 to 5" job...lucky guy. Tara is proud to be born and raised in Vancouver and Whistler, two of the most beautiful places in the world! She has ventured on many solo travels around the world, but the magic of Vancouver and the west coast has always managed to draw her back home. She works as an Occupational Therapist for a private community-based rehabilitation company, working with people with mental illness as well as orthopaedic and brain injuries in the Vancouver area. She loves having people's homes and communities be her version of an office! She also volunteers at the local YMCA as a spin/fitness instructor. Tara is very familiar with Vancouver, living in 6 different neighbourhoods around the city (the west end being her favourite by far) and is excited to show off her city. We Love... To maximize our west end neighbourhood, travel as much as possible, run in stanley park, go out to local restaurants, cycle (especially the gorgeous Sea to Sky Highway in the summer!), drink wine on the patio, go to whistler on the weekends, snowboard, wake board, skate, play tennis and practicing yoga. Our Favourite Destinations (hard to pick one)... Whistler, Indonesia, Switzerland, Oregon Coast, West Coast Trail, Cuba, Central & South America, NYC, Israel & Jordan, South East Asia, India...and the list goes on... Can't Live Without... Coffee, our neighbourhood, mountains, ocean, activity/exercise, friends, music, our bikes, traveling, our passports, flexible work schedules. How we host... We'll welcome you openly into our home, neighbourhood and city while ensuring your comfort and privacy. We will do our best to give you a local view of Vancouver and the surrounding areas. Nate's great at giving directions, while Tara's great at finding them on her GPS...sometimes. What do you want your trip to look like? Dinner with locals? Use our bikes? Visit to Whistler? We're happy to help make your trip to Vancouver memorable. What type of guests are we?... As airbnb hosts ourselves, we are very aware of the work and trust required to open your home to strangers. We are avid travellers and will spend much of our time out exploring. When home, we love to curl up to read a book, drink some wine or coffee and relax. We are very quiet, clean and respectful and will leave your home as clean as we found it (as it's so nice when guests do that for us!). We look forward to meeting new people whether we're the host or the ones being hosted :)
