A unique, stylish south-central bungalow located behind a larger house on a quiet, oak-shaded lot. It features a covered patio, full kitchen w/gas range, laundry, and good wifi. Coffee & tacos are five blocks away, upscale restaurants and a large grocery are about a mile, downtown & lake trails are 2.8 miles, and it's 3.3 miles to Barton Springs. This is an urban residential neighborhood built in the 1950s with smaller houses and many decades-long residents. Dogs are welcome (read pet info).

The space
There are two houses on the property; the front is occupied by a long-term tenant (who sometimes co-hosts for me) and the guest house is at the back. At 450 square feet, it's cozy, but the layout provides for a full separate kitchen and nicely-sized bathroom with a stackable washer/dryer. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed with a new hybrid mattress; the living room features a smart TV compatible with AirPlay and other casting apps. The back yard is fenced on three sides, with a covered front patio and a side deck overlooking a small semi-private yard. Past guests have said they enjoyed the balance here between "close to attractions" and "quiet."

I've been in and out of Austin for 30 years and have owned my host property for almost that long. I like design, chips & salsa, and my kid, not necessarily in that order.

During your stay

I let my guests lead the way regarding interaction. I'm happy to give recommendations anytime via the AirBnB app, but I'll only be at the property if you have needs or concerns that can't be addressed that way.
