A double room locate a few meters from the beautiful Piazza del Campo, famous worldwide for the Palio. It is a great place to visit by walk the whole town and to be a protagonist "in the front row" during the suggestive and famous all over the world "Palio".
The Palio is twice a year: on July 2 and August 16. During the Palio period, we ask a minimum stay of three nights.
In a historic building, the "guest house" apartment is at the first floor, accessible with a small flight of stairs. The double room is furnished in Tuscan style, with fan and free internet wi-fi. The bathroom is shared (only with another room). The cleaning lady comes every day to clean the bathroom and the common area.
The environment is quiet and comfortable. In the area there are several restaurants and shops.
The price does not include the city tax, payable at check-in, of 2.50 € per person per night (till the 31st of october then it becomes 1,50€).
The house is easily accessible by public transport, and it is well connected to the railway and bus station.
You will stay in the heart of Siena!
Great place! Just in the very centre of the town. I recommend it.
very pleasant host -room adequate but very cold due to no heating and only 1 blanket-internet wifi didnt work in room but worked in kitchen
If I had known that car parking was 2 km away and would cost twice what the room cost I would have chosen elsewhere but partly my fault -didnt know that Sienna and Del Campo were part of and insie a medieval city thus no cars allowed!!!
I'm really sorry for the heating. Bruce arrived on saturday the 27th of october. Until that saturday the weather was good... temperatures dropped just between Saturday and Sunday. On monday morning we immediately turned on the heating. Please consider that in theory, for an ordinance of the municipality of siena, you could not turn on the heating before November 1!
About the parking: I wrote a long message to Bruce before his arrival. We talked about the parking, and I told him that near the centre and near the rooms the parking are "pay parking". If he wanted a free parking he had to leave the car outside the walls... I'm sorry that he probably did not read the message... We are at few steps from Piazza Del Campo, the heart of a medieval town, cars are not permitted. The rate of the parking is usually 1,50€/1,70€ per hour from 8 am to 8 pm. After 8 pm till 8 am and on sunday (or holidays) the parking is free.
The location is terrific, so close to the Campo and the Duomo! And Siena is an amazing medieval town. My room was small, but the kitchen was large. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to cook in it, but I did make coffee in the mornings. The internet modem broke the day I got there, so that was a little difficult. I was told there were WiFi cafes around, but could not find any. I would have liked to have checked my mail and my train connections. I did not get to meet Laura, unfortunately, as she was out of town. It was a good experience overall, to stay in such a historic building, and in beautiful Siena!
This place is very centrally located to the campo, literally steps away! Which is great to be able to step out and walk to everything Siena has to offer.
Getting into Siena from the train is not as easy as by the bus and to get to this apt with rolling luggage is not the easiest! But that's my packing blunder and not anything to do with a negative mark on this place but just a heads up to those who are traveling with rolling luggage. I was able to get a taxi from the station to this place so I didn't have to wheel all my luggage over the cobble stones and through the crowd of people. When I left I did however walk to the bus station and it is about a 15 min walk from the room and with the crowds of people walking down the main drag it may take a bit longer, just to keep in mind.
Keep in mind this place has a shared bathroom and that comes with its own cons of other guests not being respectful of others having to use the space. I never ran into the issue of having to wait to use the bathroom just others lack of cleanliness. But that issue is out of the hosts control.
Overall this place is great if you are looking for a small clean very simple room with a fan that is within walking distance to everything in Siena especially the Campo then this the best bargain! And both the woman running the place are very sweet.
These ladies running the bob are some of the most kind, helpful women I have met in Italy! The bnb's location was so excellent to all that Siena has to offer. I felt very welcome and safe there. I would only recommend having fans for the bedrooms as it was quite warm trying to sleep during the heat of summer. I will definitely try and stay there again! Thanks!
Excellent location between the Campo and Duomo and Laura's communications by e-mail and text were excellent and prompt (thought I didn't meet her). In fact I saw the riders flying round the Campo in a really early morning practise run! The room was clean and bathroom too. Unfortunately the room was too hot and it was difficult to sleep so there needs to be a fan or something to allow the room to cool down to a reasonable level. Otherwise fine.
Very centrally located place for the price. Right in between the Piazza and the Duomo with very easy walks. If looking for a great and safe location in Siena this is the place. Never met Laura and no food provided, but very clean and comfortable place.
This place is very well located, right in the heart of Siena. The host was very friendly and gave us a great restaurant recommendation.
We had a very nice 2-night stay in Siena. Our room was airy and comfortable and in a lovely building of character with three other letting rooms. Our room shared a large bathroom with one other room which wasn't a problem as the other two have their own ensuite and all are locked independently. Laura was very helpful in accommodating our arrival and we really enjoyed being so close to the Piazza Del Campo and the Cathedral.
