Over-the-top fabulous in the heart of Chicago's hopping East Lakeview/Boystown neighborhood, right on Lake Shore Drive. Magical bedroom w full bath can sleep three. Perfect for kids, lovely for grownups, too. Promise, it's all good.
Over-the-top fabulous in the heart of Chicago's hopping East Lakeview/Boystown neighborhood, right on Lake Shore Drive. 2000 square feet on a single floor, grand rooms, vintage detailing, premier Beaux Arts rental building with 24-hour doorstaff, ginormous windows that look out onto the lake, harbor and park from every room. Whip-up breakfast in a yarn-wrapped kitchen under a disco ball, and then settle down to eat on a rosewood table under a turn of the century chandelier. Super swank pad of electric blues, chocolate brown, and an orange so vibrant it almost pulsates. Because the universe is kind, we're a show-house for the Jennifer Norback gallery, so brace yourself for some insanely cool art. The place has a good vibe.
My two adorable children (15 and 13) share a magical bohemian-forest bedroom, but it’s lovely for grown-ups, too. It has two twin beds; one is on a sleeping loft with a tempurdedic topped airbed below. My room has a totally dreamy king-size pillow top bed. All three mattresses are the same kind they use at the Four Seasons (yup, we're sleep snobs), and both bedrooms have full bathrooms.
Our white miniature poodle, Milo, won't be here if you rent the whole place, however, our five beta fish don't travel. They're fun to watch at the end of a long day after you've had a cocktail or two.
Our pad is walking distance to the Lincoln Park Zoo, Wrigley Field, museums, and tons of great playgrounds, restaurants, shops, bars, gyms, comedy clubs and theaters, and a weekly farmer's market. The best part is the park and harbor just across the street--miles of lakefront, perfect for a morning run or a late night stroll.
If we've rented the kid's room, usually they'll stay nearby at their dad's house; sometimes they'd rather stay here and shack up in my room. In either case, the three of us are seasoned travelers and easy going -- happy to share a meal, leave you alone, or point you in the right direction.
East Lakeview/Boystown is eclectic neighborhood is a vibrant mix of hipsters, families, socialites, buskers, orthodox Jews, and gays, with just enough heart and grit to make you feel good about living in the city. Plus, we have the best gelato, cupcakes, falafel and fried Korean chicken in Chicago, hands-down.
Hop a five minute cab or the 146 express buss to downtown and the loop right out our front door. The Belmont stop El train (brown/red line) is a ten minute walk away. Hail a cab right out front in minutes. Parking is a big drag in my neighborhood, so skip the rental car. I don't own a car and happily get around on foot, cab, or bus. If you are driving, there's street parking and a public lot just a block away (Broadway and Roscoe).
There's a Divvy bike station right outside my building. If the weather's nice, grab a bike and ride downtown along the lake or explore any of Chicago's great neighborhoods.

What a great spot!!! This location was absolutely perfect for the weekend I planned for out of town friends! It's right on the water, walking distance to Wrigley, great restaurants, and the BEST coffee shop down the street! The fact that the air show was in town, made those windows overlooking the lake even better than they already were. The apartment was stocked with what we needed, and Jacqueline was always an email/text away! Parking at the nearby hospital was just $12 a night! Overall, we had a fabulous weekend, and I would definitely stay here again! :)
Amazing space, great location, a charming host and plenty of freedom. We hardly got to see Jaqueline as our itinerary in Chicago was pretty packed but the vibe in the flat is something you don't normally expect. The fairy wonderland beds we slept in were magical... Nice memories:)
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Jacqueline was a perfect host. Very calm and considerate. Maya, Zack and Milo are very friendly and cool. Jacqueline is now my favorite "kooky" friend from Chicago.
Jacqueline is an incredible host and an exceptional person. She is kind and welcoming. The space is absolutely gorgeous, warm and inviting. Her children are simply wonderful. I went to Chicago for a work conference, but did not feel like work at all! I would return in a heartbeat just to visit them. I felt like I was staying with family! Oh,and the bed was super comfy...slept like a babe.
I had a great time in Chicago. Jaqueline is a very gracious host. I felt as if I were visiting with an old college friend! She gave me the best advice for getting around in town. She has a lovely, clean apartment with an incredible view of the lake. Her children are lovely as well. I would stay with her again. Oh, and she even lent me her coat, knowing I would be cold with what I had (I'm from Texas). She recommended the Ralph Lauren Restaurant down town for lunch and that was wonderful.
As a first time AirBnB'er, I could not have chosen a better place! Each nook and cranny of this stunning apartment is brimming with creativity. Jacqueline is an absolute gem - very easy going, hospitable, and helpful. She had drinks for us when we arrived and delicious chocolate croissants waiting for us in the morning. Her daughter Mya is delightfully artistic and Milo, the dog, is perfectly sweet. My friend and I loved the forest bedroom and the beds were very comfortable. I most certainly look forward to staying here again the next time I am in town.
In summary - my partner & I loved staying with Jacqueline & her family.
As someone that was new to the world of AirBNB, I must say that they made our 3 week stay much more enjoyable than if we'd have gone with the more boring & expensive option of staying in a hotel. Jacqueline, Zach & Maya gave us loads of recommendations for local eateries, shops and events - including Summer Dance, which my partner forced me to go to :). They love their home and they love their home city, which really helps make you feel welcome, especially if it's your first time in Chicago. They are a wonderful family, who we got to know a lot better throughout our stay, having a great number of discussions on politics and many other topics!
We got to walk their dog Milo at the Dog Beach near by which was great. They also took us to a Cubs game, which was very kind of them to do so. We intend to stay in touch and I would recommend Jacqueline's place to anyone who values staying with fun/ smart. well-mannered people!
I intend to be back & forth to Chicago a lot over the next few years and will definitely be contacting them again!
Amazing apartment in an amazing location! I had the pleasure of staying by myself and couldn't be happier with my experience there. If I return to Chicago, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
My wife, daughter and I had an excellent time in Chicago. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. It was a real pleasure also to stay in such a creative space. My daughter especially enjoyed her bedroom and taking care of the fish. Nice views over the marina and Lake Shore drive (but a little noisy). The 151 bus made it a breeze to get downtown, the zoo, etc.
Very nice neighborhood.
Jacqueline was a great host and made sure we had all we needed.
We were able to contact her easily and she responded promptly to any questions we had.
