About this listing

The space

Hawk Mountain Lodge is a guest lodge with 5 bedrooms. 1 with private bath, 1 with semi-private bath and 3 with shared bath. There is a common room that has a small refrigerator and a coffee maker.

The house was built in the middle of the 1800s and was once home to Charles Dudley Warner who founded the Hartford Courant and was a friend of Mark Twain.

We have renovated the house extensively so it is a comfortable place to stay with modern amenities. On the campus of Zoar Outdoor, Hawk Mountain Lodge offers great adventure activities within walking distance - zip lining, rafting, rock climbing, kayaking and biking are all just out the front door.

We are the closest lodging to Berkshire East Ski Resort and we offer discounts on skiing during the winter.

Guest access

Guests have access to the lodge common room with a tv/vcr, a coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator. They also have access to a large network of hiking and biking trails that start just out the door of the lodge. Please note the Lodge does not have a full kitchen available.

Interaction with guests

We're around during the day a lot and are happy to answer questions or just chat.

Nice place with plenty of sleeping. The host was very accommodating and friendly. There is no kitchen so be prepared to eat out.

We stayed at Bruce's place for retreat for our college living community of 14 and it was a very nice bonding experience. The house is cozy, and there's a pizzeria next to the house which solves the dinner issue as the house doesn't have a kitchen. The bedrooms are all very nice and Bruce is very helpful answering our questions. Charlemont is also very close to shelburne falls which is definitely worth a visit!

We had a great stay at Hawk Mountain Lodge! The location was perfect for a family ski trip to Berkshire East. The host was very accommodating and helped make our trip a memorable one.

I brought two teenagers to stay at the Hawk Mountain Lodge for a quick snowboarding weekend. The space was clean and well-kept, the beds were very comfortable, and it is a quiet peaceful area minutes away from Berkshire East. Convenience store and restaurant (with very good food!) a quick walk away. Bruce and Philip were extremely responsive and helpful.

I brought my team of college ski racers to the Hawk Mountain Lodge for a race, and we had a great time. We fit all 12 athletes easily, and Bruce and Lodge Manager Philip were extremely accommodating. The let us use extra space in a nearby building called the "zip building" for tuning skis and making a team dinner with a few parents. I would definitely recommend the Lodge and it's great hospitality!

Perfect room for 4 with the biggest back yard I've ever experienced with an air BNB. Great restaurant steps away for breakfast.

Hosts were very friendly, but our original accommodation was double booked so I cannot comment on the Hawk Mountain Lodge property.
